Chandrababu Cabinet Is Likely To Be Lokesh Team!

As TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is getting ready to take oath as Chief Minister for the fourth time on Thursday, many cabinet aspirants in the party are now making hectic efforts to try their luck. Till now, Chandrababu Naidu did not give any hit on the nature of his cabinet composition.

It is normal in political circles to compose a cabinet with the mixture of seniors and freshers. However, this time TDP sources are of the view that most of senior leaders in the party are likely to be disappointed with the cabinet formation.

Though about 80 MLAs are first time entering the assembly, there are several senior leaders who have won a number of times as MLA and also had earlier served in the state cabinet. Most of them are again expecting a cabinet berth.

But, it is learnt that Chandrababu is proposing to give priority to the young team in his cabinet. Already party circles confirmed the induction of Nara Lokesh into the cabinet. He has already played a key role in selection of candidates in the recent elections. Most of the new MLAs, who have won for the first time, are picked up by him only.

In order to focus on Lokesh as the `future Chief Minister’, party sources indicated that Chandrababu Naidu is likely to give priority to young faces, who are familiar with working with Lokesh. In a way the new cabinet is likely to be a `Lokesh Team’, more than `Chandrababu Team’.

However, those who were targeted by the YCP regime and sent to jail, may be given preference. As K Ramamohan Naidu was inducted into the union cabinet, his uncle and state TDP chief K Achcham Naidu is unlikely to be inducted into the state cabinet.

However, Dr P Narayana, who was the main player in developing the Amravati region, is likely to be inducted. Besides regional balance, social engineering also needs to be kept in mind in cabinet formation.

Already, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has indicated his desire to become Deputy Chief MInister. Three more MLAs are likely to join in the cabinet from the Jana Sena. Two BJP MLAs are also likely to be inducted into the cabinet. Former Union Minister Sujana Choudhary and BJP national secretary Sathya Kumar names are heard in this regard.
