Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the police officers to bring law and order in the state under complete control in the next three months. On the second day of the Collectors’ meeting, the CM conducted a review of the Home Department on Thursday.

He said that tThe coalition government has prepared a three-pronged strategy to control crime in the state. It is going to implement strict laws to control psychos and cyber criminals who are being incited through social media. A committee with three experienced officers will be formed to control all types of crimes using advanced technology and will take action within 15 days, he said.

The Chief Minister asked that the police and excise departments should cooperate with the ‘Eagle’ department to control marijuana and narcotics. He said that the pattern of crime has changed now, while cyber criminals are robbing people by calling them, organized criminals are supplying marijuana and weakening society and future generations.

On the other hand, he said that the way criminals are entering politics and posting obscene language on social media and mentally harassing all sections of society is very dangerous. He assured that the police should tighten their belts to curb this and that the government would provide necessary support.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the crime control in the last five months has been good. If effective policing is carried out using technology, criminals will be put on the back burner. He said that social media has been controlled. People are living peacefully. He said that he congratulates the police for this.

‘The CID is investigating the illegal sale of liquor and the ACB is investigating the sand robbery. The illegal transportation of sand should be stopped. Especially in the border districts, surveillance should be maintained. CCTV cameras should be installed and not even a single ton should be exported,’ he ordered.

Earlier, DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, while giving a powerpoint presentation, said that 15,587 cameras have been installed so far, and based on these, 1,330 cases have been identified. He revealed the details of the cases detected through CCTV footage in different parts of the state.
