Chandrababu Again Turns Key In National Politics, PM Modi Congratulates Him

After the TDP-led alliance comprising the TDP, BJP and Jana Sena party routed out ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu again became a key political figure in national politics.

Moreover, the BJP that failed to get an absolute majority in the Parliament on its own, also needs to depend upon his crucial support as TDP is emerging as the largest party in the NDA, after BJP with its 16 MPs.

For the stability of the NDA government also Chandrababu Naidu’s support will become a crucial one. Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Chief Minister and later as Prime Minister only led governments in which BJP had absolute majority on its own. Practically he has no experience of coalition politics.

Now, with 16 MPs Chandrababu Naidu and 15 MPs with Nitish Kumar will be key for the stability of the NDA government at the center. WIsh his experience of leading opposition fronts at the national level, Chandrababu’s role would become key for BJP to ensure its stability.

Though Chandrababu Naidu was part of NDA during 2014 elections also, as BJP secured absolute majority he was hardly given any prominence in the affairs of NDA. But this time a completely different picture prevails.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first leader who congratulated Chandrababu Naidu over telephone after trends of counting cleared that TDP and its allies are going to win more than 160 of 175 seats in the state. Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated him.

Meanwhile, Congress and other leaders of INDIA block are also likely to keep their eyes on Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar seeking their support. Already these two leaders asserted their support to the NDA government.

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has already sought the appointment of Governor to submit his resignation and TDP leaders are focusing on the formation of the next government. TDP, Jana Sena and BJP top leaders are meeting on Tuesday evening to discuss these issues. TDP sources are indicating that Chandrababu is likely to take oath as chief minister on June 9th.
