Central Team Meets AP CM Chandrababu to Discuss Flood Damage

A central team arrived in Andhra Pradesh today to assess the extensive flood damage and met with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. During the meeting, the team shared detailed findings on the flood damage assessment.

Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the severe impact on crops and property, urging the central team to classify the floods in Andhra Pradesh as a national disaster. He stressed that this catastrophe should not be regarded as a routine event, citing record-breaking rainfall and sudden floods that have drastically disrupted public life. Naidu emphasized that flood victims and farmers, who have lost everything, will require significant aid to recover.

The central team assured the Chief Minister that they would present the findings of their assessment to the central government and make efforts to secure appropriate assistance for the state.

The Andhra Pradesh government recently submitted a preliminary report to the central government, estimating the flood damage at ₹6,882 crore. The central team has been touring the state for the past two days, evaluating the impact of the floods in the Krishna, Guntur, and Bapatla districts.
