Avanigadda: Former minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Perni Nani has been booked by Avanigadda police following a complaint over his recent remarks at party meetings held in Pamarru and Avanigadda constituencies. The case was filed based on a complaint by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Kanaparthi Srinivasa Rao, who alleged that Nani’s comments were inflammatory and posed a threat to public peace.
During his speech, Perni Nani reportedly said, “Don’t shout ‘rappa rappa’… if something has to be done, do it silently. Just blink in the dark and get the job done.” The remarks, which went viral on social media, drew strong criticism from TDP and Jana Sena leaders, who accused him of subtly inciting political violence. In his complaint, Srinivasa Rao referred to Nani as a “rice scam accused” and expressed concern that such statements could promote disorder in society. He urged the police to initiate legal action, citing the potential risk to law and order.
