BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has reaffirmed the party’s support for Scheduled Caste (SC) classification, stating that they fully endorse the Telangana government’s decision. Speaking in the Assembly, he recalled that after the formation of Telangana, the Assembly had unanimously passed a resolution in favor of SC classification and submitted it to the central government. He emphasized that since 2001, BRS has maintained a clear stance on the issue.

KTR also acknowledged the role of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) leader Manda Krishna Madiga, who has been leading the movement for SC classification. He highlighted that former Chief Minister KCR had always backed MRPS, T-MRPS, and other organizations advocating for the cause. He further stated that BRS had supported the movement both in opposition and in power, recognizing its legitimacy. Additionally, he noted that KCR had provided assistance to the families of those who lost their lives during the MRPS agitation.
