BRS Demands Assembly Debate on Formula E, CM Responds

BRS members created a commotion in the Telangana Legislative Assembly today, demanding a discussion on Formula E car racing. The disruption escalated when some members approached the Speaker’s podium, causing a stir in the House.

In response, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy raised questions about why Minister KTR had not previously called for a discussion on the matter. Revanth shared that representatives from Formula E racing had approached him, requesting the release of ₹600 crore in pending funds. They indicated that another race would be held if the funds were cleared.

Revanth further revealed that the agreement between KTR and the car race organizers was valued at ₹600 crore. It was only when the organizers approached him regarding the pending funds that he became aware of the issue. Through his intervention, ₹450 crore was saved, Revanth claimed.

He also noted that the ACB is currently investigating the matter and that KTR’s petition is under review in the High Court, which is why he had refrained from commenting in detail.
