Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape is heating up as the coalition government marks its six-month milestone in power. In these first few months, the government has implemented several important political and administrative decisions. In response, the opposition is intensifying its efforts to hold the YSRCP government accountable, particularly concerning the promises made during the election campaign.
The opposition leader in the Legislative Council, Botsa Satyanarayana, has raised key concerns regarding the state government’s actions. He thanked Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan for bringing out the improvements in schools under Nadu-Nedu during the recent mega Parent-Teacher Meeting.Botsa acknowledged the effort, recognizing it as a reminder of the development made during their tenure. However, he pointed out that it would have been more effective if the remaining work in schools had been completed under the Nadu-Nedu program.
Additionally, Botsa has strongly called for the government to roll back the recently increased electricity charges. He criticized Minister Nandendla for making misleading statements about paddy procurement and urged the government to provide accurate information.
Botsa also spoke about the controversy surrounding the alleged drug container in Visakhapatnam. After thorough investigations by Interpol and Operation Garuda, it was revealed that no drugs were found. He commended the CBI for clearing Visakhapatnam of any allegations and announced that he would be writing to the Prime Minister and Home Minister about the matter.
In terms of farmer welfare, Botsa criticized the current government’s lack of action, claiming that they had failed to support the farming community. He confirmed that his party would submit petitions to district collectors on January 13, demanding support for farmers’ rights. Furthermore, he disclosed plans to submit petitions to SEs on January 27, requesting a reduction in electricity charges.
Finally, Botsa revealed that his party will launch a statewide campaign on January 3 to demand the release of fee reimbursements, an issue that continues to affect many students. Botsa also shared that he had written a letter requesting the inclusion of Legislative Council members in the ongoing investigation into the Visakha Dairy issue.
