Borugadda Anil Admits Assault in Election Clash!

Rowdy-sheeter Borugadda Anil Kumar admitted to assaulting Akula Hemasundar and others on May 9 this year, in a case linked to alleged attempts to force them to falsely claim that TDP leaders had called them to distribute cash and marijuana to voters during elections. Hemasundar, a worker at a restaurant in the Amaravati capital region, initially reported the attack to the Tulluru police, stating that Anil and his associates arrived at the restaurant, threatened them, and assaulted them when they refused to comply.

Despite filing a complaint at the time, Hemasundar alleged no action was taken under the previous government. A renewed complaint led the Tulluru police to reopen the case, arrest Anil, and place him in judicial remand at Rajamahendravaram Central Jail.

On Monday, Tulluru police, with approval from the Mangalagiri Court, brought Anil from Rajamahendravaram Jail for questioning. According to sources, Anil was asked why he attempted to coerce the restaurant workers into making false statements, who directed him to do so, and the actual motive behind the incident. Anil admitted to the assault but claimed he did not remember the identities of his accomplices.

When questioned about any video recordings of the incident and their distribution, Anil denied capturing any footage. When asked to provide his phone for investigation, he stated that the phone he used at the time was no longer in his possession.

During the interrogation, Anil cited health issues, prompting the police to take him to a regional hospital for a check-up. On Tuesday, he requested a postponement of further questioning, citing ill health, but the court denied the request as no medical report confirmed his claim. Following the interrogation, Anil was sent back to Rajamahendravaram Jail.
