Bollywood is set to bring the epic tale of the Ramayana to the big screen in a two-part extravaganza. The first part is scheduled for release during Diwali 2026, and the filmmakers have revealed that it will conclude with the death of Jatayu, who delivers a message to Lord Rama about Sita’s whereabouts. Amitabh Bachchan will provide the voiceover for Jatayu, marking a key turning point in the story. The climactic battle and resolution will take place in the second installment, slated for Diwali 2027.
Kannada superstar Yash will portray the demon king Ravanasura, with the film highlighting his cruelty, ruthlessness, and merciless rule. Several specially designed sequences will reveal the story behind Ravana Brahma in vivid detail. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi takes on the role of Sita.
Produced at an estimated ₹4,000 crore, the film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Producer Namit Malhotra said, “This two-part epic is designed for global audiences. Even though the budget is lower than many Hollywood blockbusters, the scale and grandeur will be unmatched. The Ramayana is a timeless epic, and this adaptation aims to do justice to its legacy across generations.”
