AP High Court Rejects Anticipatory Bail for MP Mithun Reddy in Liquor Scam Case

MP Mithun Reddy has suffered a major legal blow as the Andhra Pradesh High Court denied him anticipatory bail in the investigation into the liquor scam. The court pointed out that as the investigation is now at a sensitive and critical stage, granting bail here would not be desirable.

Mithun Reddy has been actively seeking legal protection against arrest, approaching both the High Court and the Supreme Court. Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed the High Court to make a final decision on his bail plea and extended temporary relief from arrest until then. However, with the High Court now denying his anticipatory bail, that temporary shield has been removed, increasing the possibility of his imminent arrest.

Sources reveal that during Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s five-year tenure, Mithun Reddy played a pivotal role in the liquor scam. Insider reports suggest that he regularly visited the Tadepalli residence every Saturday to provide updates on financial transactions to the key players involved.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has reportedly gathered strong evidence outlining how the illicit funds were circulated and laundered through various channels. Despite multiple legal maneuvers to avoid arrest, it seems Mithun Reddy’s options are now running out.

Others, including Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, have already been taken into custody. Bhaskar Reddy’s son, Mohith, currently enjoys interim protection while his bail plea is under consideration.

With the recent High Court ruling, authorities anticipate that the SIT will proceed swiftly to arrest Mithun Reddy in connection with the ongoing investigation.

In an interview recently, producer Naga Vamsi spoke at length about the progress of these fascinating projects. He made it clear that Trivikram’s next film after the current one will be with Victory Venkatesh, and the movie will begin shooting this August. Chevireddy sent His close Aide Pradyumna To Dubai To Escape SIT probe In Liquor scam

Former YSRCP MLA and key accused in AP Liquor Scam Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has sent out his close aide Pradyumna to Dubai to escape from SIT probe. The SIT is now trying to bring him back.

 Pradyumna, a resident of Ongole, who was a pawn in the liquor scam worth thousands of crores during the YSRCP regime and claimed the liquor bribe money as his own, fled to Dubai on the advice of Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy. SIT found that on June 3, Pradyumna went to Tirupati from Hyderabad and met Chevireddy there. Chevireddy had instructed him to go to Dubai, saying that if he was caught by the SIT, he would be arrested.

The SIT has concluded that Pradyumna was sent there after promising that he would take care of all the necessary arrangements. After the meeting with Chevireddy, it was confirmed that Pradyumna switched off her phone and fled. A lookout notice was issued against him.

On May 9 last year, during the general elections, the police seized Rs. 8.36 crore cash at the Garikapadu check post in NTR district. At that time, a case was registered at the Chillakallu police station, but no one claimed it. The case was registered and later, everything was forgotten about it.

Otherwise, it was found to be the bribe money collected by Raj Kasireddy’s  team from liquor distilleries and supply companies during the YSRCP regime. Chevireddy was bringing this money from Hyderabad to AP through his men to distribute to YSRCP  candidates during elections.

Chevireddy, who wanted to get back the money somehow, brought in Pradyumna, a real estate businessman from Ongole who was close to him. Pradyumna wrote a letter to the Income Tax Department late last year, claiming that the money seized at the Garikapadu check post was his and that this money was obtained through the mango business.

He said that he would submit evidence and that his money should be returned to him. The Income Tax Department did not respond to this letter. In the context of the SIT’s inquiry into liquor bribery, it was revealed that the Rs. 8.36 crore seized at the Garikapadu check post was liquor money.

If the money really belonged to Pradyumna, why did he not claim it immediately after being caught? Why did he file a petition in the High Court after almost 11 months? The SIT inquired in depth into the issues. Sensing this, Chevireddy secretly sent Pradyumna to Dubai. It may be recalled that on the 17th of the same month, Chevireddy too was caught by the SIT officers while fleeing to Sri Lanka.

అయితే తెలంగాణ సర్కారు చేస్తున్న మరో తేడా ఏంటంటే.. కృష్ణానదిపై తెలంగాణలో పెండింగు ప్రాజెక్టులకు అనుమతులను అజెండాగా ప్రతిపాదించడం. పాలమూరు, దిండి ప్రాజెక్టులకు జాతీయహోదా ఇవ్వాలని, ఇచ్చంపల్లి ప్రాజెక్టును కేంద్రం చేపట్టాలని, తుమ్మడిహెట్టి వద్ద ప్రాణహిత ప్రాజెక్టుకు 80 టీఎంసీలు కేటాయించాలని ఎజెండాగా తెలంగాణ కేంద్రానికి పంపింది.

వీటితో పాటు 200 టీఎంసీల వరద జలాల వినియోగానికి కొత్త ప్రాజెక్టు నిర్మించాలని మరో ప్రతిపాదన పెడుతూనే, బనకచర్లకు ఎలాంటి అనుమతులు లేవని, చట్టాల ఉల్లంఘన జరుగుతోందని, ఈ ప్రాజెక్టుపై చర్చించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదని ప్రతిపాదించింది.

చూడబోతే.. చంద్రబాబును తీవ్రంగా వ్యతిరేకించే బీఆర్ఎస్ పన్నిన ఉచ్చులో రేవంత్ సర్కారు ఇరుక్కున్నట్టుగా కనిపిస్తోంది. ఆయకట్టు చివరి రాష్ట్రం వరద జలాల కోసం నిర్మించాలనుకుంటున్న ప్రాజెక్టును అడ్డుకోవాలని చూడడం ఒక కుట్ర కాగా, ఆయకట్టు ఎగువభాగంలో ఉంటూ.. వరదజలాలకు తమ రాష్ట్రంలో కొత్త ప్రాజెక్టు కావాలని అడగడం మరో కుట్ర. పైగా తమ రాష్ట్రంలో ప్రాజెక్టులకు జాతీయహోదా కావాలంటే.. కేంద్రం వద్ద పోరాడి తెచ్చుకోవచ్చు. దానికి ఉభయ రాష్ట్రాల ముఖ్యమంత్రులు ఉండాల్సిన అవసరం ఏముంది? ఇద్దరూ వస్తున్నప్పుడు.. ఇరు రాష్ట్రాలకు సంబంధం ఉండే వ్యవహారాలనే కదా తేల్చుకోవాలి అని ప్రజలు అంటున్నారు.

CM Chandrababu says only Quality Liquor should Be sold In AP

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has instructed officials to sell only quality liquor in the state. Conducting a review of the Excise Department, he instructed officials to stop the sale of all suspicious brands. He said that steps should be taken to ensure that only national and international brands and quality liquor are sold.

He said that the state’s revenue has increased with the new liquor policy and the revenue that had previously gone to neighboring states has now been recovered. He cautioned that nothing is more important than public health and that non-duty paid liquor and natu sara should not be sold under any circumstances.

Officials explained to the CM on this occasion that anonymous liquor brands were sold indiscriminately in the past and that with the implementation of the new policy, those sales have completely reduced. They said that previously, 68 percent of the liquor of anonymous brands was available in the market.

They brought to the CM’s attention that prices have decreased by Rs. 10 to Rs. 100 compared to the past. He said that the prices of top 30 brands of liquor are lower in the state compared to neighboring states. Officials explained that due to the lack of permit rooms, people are drinking alcohol everywhere, which is causing problems.

They said that if permission is given to permit rooms and only then, it will be effective. Later, the CM said that the government should not act in a way that robs the pockets of the poor. He said that with that intention, the prices of alcohol have been reduced in a way that has never been seen anywhere in the country. He gave orders to allow micro-breweries in areas where there is potential to boost the tourism sector.

CM Chandrababu instructed the officials to implement modern technology like artificial intelligence in the excise department and implement the trace and tracking system strictly. He suggested that a real-time tracking system be set up on the movements of vehicles from distilleries to the Beverages Corporation and shops. They should be monitored with GPS devices.

He said that online cash transactions should be encouraged and that there should be no compromise on digital payments anywhere. He said that data analytics should be used to assess the stocks in the stores from time to time. Mukesh Kumar Meena, Principal Secretary, Excise Department, and other senior officials participated in this review.

తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీ ఆఫీసు మీద తన అనుచర గూండాలతో దాడి చేయించిన కేసు మాత్రమే కాదు, ఆ కేసును మాయ చేసేందుకు కంప్లయింటు ఇచ్చిన దళిత యువకుడిని కిడ్నాపు చేయించి నిర్బంధించి హింసించి తప్పుడు వాంగ్మూలాలు ఇప్పించిన కేసు, ఇంకా భూదందాలు, అక్రమ మైనింగ్ దందాలు వంటి అనేక కేసుల్లో  మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే వల్లభనేని వంశీకి బెయిలు లభించిన సంగతి అందరికీ తెలుసు. బెయిలు నిబంధనల ప్రకారం ఆయన గన్నవరం కోర్టుకు హాజరై అక్కడ సంతకం చేయాల్సి ఉంటుంది. అయితే అక్కడ న్యాయమూర్తి సెలవులో ఉండడంతో వంశీ ఉయ్యూరు జూనియర్ సివిల్ జడ్జి కోర్టుకు హాజరై అక్కడ సంతకాలు చేశారు. అయితే ఈ సందర్భంగా ఎలాంటి ఆర్భాటం లేకుండా కేవలం ఒకరిద్దరు అనుచరులతో ఒక వాహనంలోనే వచ్చి వల్లభనేని వంశీ సంతకం చేసి వెళ్లడం గురించి జనం చర్చించుకున్నారు.

అనారోగ్యం పేరిట చాలాకాలంగా హైదరాబాదులోనే గడుపుతున్న కొడాలి నాని ఇటీవల ఒక కేసు విషయంలో పోలీసుల ఎదుట హాజరయ్యేందుకు గుడివాడ వచ్చారు. ఆయన గుడివాడ రావడమే ఒక పెద్ద యుద్ధానికి వెళుతున్నట్టుగా చాలా పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో మందీమార్బలాన్ని వెంటబెట్టుకుని మరీ స్టేషనకు వచ్చి సంతకాల పనులు పూర్తి చేసుకుని వెళ్లారు. అదే సమయంలో వివిధ కేసుల విషయంలో పోలీసులు విచారణకు పిలుస్తున్న సందర్భాల్లో వైసీపీ నాయకులందరూ కూడా అనుచరులను, లాయర్లను, తమ గణాలను వెంటబెట్టుకుని చాలా హడావుడిగా వెళుతున్న సంగతి కూడా అందరికీ తెలుసు. జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి చేసే ఆర్భాటమే తామందరికీ స్ఫూర్తి అన్నట్టుగా  వారు వ్యవహరిస్తున్నారు. ఇలాంటి పెడపోకడల్లో వల్లభనేని వంశీ విషయంలో కొంత మార్పు వచ్చినట్టున్నదని.. మిగిలిన వారు ఎప్పటికి మారుతారోనని జనం అనుకుంటున్నారు.

Stating that strict action is being taken to damage the financial resources of ganja traders, Home Minister Anitha Vangalapudi said that if anyone is caught in the ganja case, welfare schemes are being suspended. She said that assets worth Rs 7 crore have been seized so far. She revealed that she is going to the sources of the kingpins and holding all those associated with them accountable.

She clarified that she is being strict with those who make money by taking advantage of the innocence of tribals. She said that de-addiction centers are being set up with the seized assets. She said that she has zeroed out the cultivation of ganja, which has become a financial source for YSRCP leaders. She commented that the agency area, which is known as the ganja center, has been cleared of slander and Araku has brought back its broad image.

Anitha said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu suggested the name Eagle to the ganja eradication team with the aim of keeping an eagle eye on ganja. She appreciated that the Eagle team members are working efficiently and said that special teams have been formed and an iron fist has been imposed on marijuana.

She alleged that during the previous government, marijuana cultivation was encouraged through a cottage industry. She said that incidents of marijuana even getting into school children’s bags were seen during the previous government. She said that more than 800 cases have been registered in the past year regarding marijuana and thousands of people have been arrested.

The Home Minister revealed that more than 40 lakh plants of various types have been distributed while promoting alternative crops to marijuana cultivation. She said that more than 68 thousand acres of marijuana have been destroyed so far. She sought the cooperation of all the people in the yagna to eradicate marijuana.

Anitha said that Araku and Paderu areas were previously marijuana hubs, but now they have been transformed to resemble coffee, which means Araku. She said that Araku has been made into a coffee brand. She explained that the state government and the Eagle team worked together and brought about changeShe said  that Araku Coffee was able to be promoted even in high places like Parliament.

AP To Take Rs 1,000 crore Loan Through HUDCO To Develop 4 New Airports

Chandrababu Naidu-led government has issued orders allowing the Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation Limited (APADCL) to take a loan of Rs 1,000 crore for the development of 4 new airports in the state. The government has decided to guarantee the loan of Rs 1,000 crore to be taken through HUDCO.

This loan will be used for the development of Kuppam, Dagadarthi, Srikakulam and Amaravati airports. The government has clarified that the loan can be used for land acquisition, infrastructure costs, viability gap fund and emergency use.

There are currently 7 airports in the state. Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Kadapa, Rajahmundry and Gannavaram airports are managed by the Airports Authority of India. While Kurnool Airport is under the auspices of the state government, there is a private airstrip in Puttaparthi. In addition to these, an international airport is being prepared in Bhogapuram.

However, the state government has decided to build 7 more new airports to meet the growing needs. As part of this, a plan has been prepared to build new airports in Kuppam, Dagadarthi, Srikakulam, Tadepalligudem, Nagarjunasagar, Tuni-Annavaram and Ongole. To this end, CM Chandrababu has already conducted a review on the expansion, construction and construction of new airports.

On the other hand, the government has started preparations for the construction of two greenfield international airports in AP. One of these is in the capital Amaravati and the other is planned to be set up in Srikakulam district. In this regard, the Andhra Pradesh Airports Development Corporation (APADC) has also completed the tender process for the appointment of consultants to prepare a Technical and Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) to examine the pre-feasibility.

The regulations state that the consultancy firm should also suggest which area is suitable for the establishment of the Amaravati International Airport. The APADC explained that the airport will be built in the northeast direction, 70 km from the city, near the sea coast in Srikakulam district.

It said that the consultancy firms should identify the technical and economic factors that will affect the construction and operation of these two airports. It said that a concept master plan, financial model and project structure should be prepared for the construction of the airports in accordance with the latest guidelines.

Sajjala Warns TDP Govt Over Targeted Attacks on YSRCP Leaders: Vows To Reopen False Cases

YSRCP General Secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has launched a fierce attack on the Andhra Pradesh coalition government, accusing it of targeting YSRCP leaders in a systematic manner through political pressure and false cases. Addressing the media, Sajjala threatened that both ruling leaders and spineless officials would be punished once YSRCP comes back to power.

He accused the present government of employing fake cases as a weapon to stifle opposition voices, particularly the active ones in the field. Sajjala underlined that such politically motivated harassment would be given no scope for being ignored and promised that all the false cases registered against YSRCP leaders would be thoroughly probed. He also cautioned that the officials who went beyond their limits by acting under political pressure would face action.

Referring to a recent incident in Gudivada, Sajjala said Zilla Parishad Chairperson Uppala Harika was attacked by TDP members while heading to a YSRCP event. Shockingly, he claimed that the police stood by as the incident took place and even attempted to drag her vehicle using ropes. “Instead of controlling the mob, police acted as silent spectators,” Sajjala remarked. To make matters worse, he alleged that a counter-case was registered against Harika’s husband, Uppala Ramu, after the assault.

“Are the police here to uphold the law or to follow party orders?” Sajjala questioned, expressing serious concern over the law enforcement’s neutrality. He pointed out that even though the High Court had clearly directed lower courts not to approve remand orders without due process, the police continue to abuse their authority under political pressure.

Referring to more incidents, Sajjala cited the attack on MLA Prasanna Kumar Reddy’s residence in Nellore, and preventing TDP leader Kethireddy Pedda Reddy from entering Tadipatri against court directions. He also charged the state administration with registering frivolous cases against YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his recent trips to Bangarupalyam, Podili, and other constituencies.
