Story:

Govardhan, an architect from a humble background, who devotes himself to supporting his brothers and their families. His life takes a significant turn with the arrival of Indu, a student, as a tenant in his home. Just when everything appears to be going smoothly, Govardhan is confronted with a startling revelation from Indu. As the story progresses, her true identity and her connection to his life unfold, promising a compelling cinematic experience best enjoyed on the big screen.

Review :

It sounds like you’re describing a movie featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur in leading roles. Deverakonda seems to have captured the essence of a middle-class character convincingly, especially in family scenes, which adds depth to his portrayal. It seems like “The Family Star” has its merits, primarily in the performances of Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur. However, its shortcomings, such as a slow-paced screenplay, lack of emotional depth, ineffective background score, and weak storyline, might detract from the overall viewing experience. Despite these drawbacks, if you’re able to overlook these aspects, the film could still offer some entertainment value, making it potentially worth a watch, especially if you’re looking for something to see over the weekend.

 Rashmika Mandanna’s First Poster From ‘The Girlfriend’

The pan-Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna turned 28 today. On the occasion of her birthday, the team unit of her future venture ‘The Girlfriend’ unveiled the actress’s first poster from the film.

From the posters, it seems Rashmika Mandanna is playing as a college student. National crush Rashmika is currently celebrating her 28th birthday in Abu Dhabi with her friends and family. Earlier, the actress shared a glimpse of her pre-celebration, savoring her coffee on a serene Picturesque island.

No Summer Break For NTR Again

For the second consecutive year, Man of Masses and Tollywood superstar NTR has decided to take no break in Summer and concentrate on his work. It is quite usual for our stars to skip shootings during the humid conditions that prevail in April and May. Top stars like Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas have already taken a break due to the sweltering weather. But, NTR is keen on completing his upcoming projects. 

Last year, he commenced shooting for director Koratala Siva’s upcoming pan-India action spectacle Devara in mid-summer and worked non-stop without taking any break. NTR’s commitment received huge appreciation from all quarters. This year, it is no different for the RRR actor because he is currently busy wrapping up the final portions of Devara. He will soon join the sets of his maiden Bollywood project War 2 in which he will appear as an antagonist to Hrithik Roshan who is playing the lead role. 

Reports suggest that NTR has allotted bulk dates to War 2 and will join the sets in the last week of April. In the meantime, he will call it a wrap for Devara barring three songs and they will be canned in June and July. Immediately after completing the talkie portion of Devara, NTR will join Ayan Mukerji’s War 2, which is a part of the YRF spy universe. 

NTR will dedicate the entire May for War 2 and then resume the shooting for ‘Devara’ in June. A close source to the actor adds that Tarak is determined to fulfil his obligations rather than chilling out in foreign countries like his co-stars. 

Besides Devara and War 2, NTR also signed a film with Salaar director Prashanth Neel. This project will start rolling in 2025.

Robert Vadra Keen To Enter Politics, Contest From Amethi

Robert Vadra, the husband of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, has hinted at contesting Lok Sabha elections from the Amethi parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh. In an exclusive interview with India TV, Vadra mentioned that there has been a widespread request from across the country for him to join politics.

Vadra hinted at his interest in entering politics, noting that there is a strong desire from the people for him to do so. As a member of the Gandhi-Nehru family, Vadra expressed that it’s challenging to stay away from politics. However, he also mentioned that he prefers Priyanka Gandhi to enter Parliament first, suggesting that his turn would come afterwards.

Amethi became a hot seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha election after Smriti Irani defeated Rahul Gandhi from the seat that belonged to the Gandhi bastion for decades. Rahul Gandhi won Amethi in 2004, 2009 and 2014 but Smriti Irani broke the record. The Congress has not yet announced the candidate for Amethi and Raebarelli while Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from Wayanad.

Apart from Amethi, Raebareli gained significance this time as Sonia Gandhi, the sitting MP, moved to the Rajya Sabha. Vadra said now people of Amethi are regretting the election of Smriti Inrani, as  except daily abusing Gandhi family hardly doing any work for people.

“The people of Amethi understood their mistake. And I feel now they want a Gandhi family member to represent the constituency. Even I get requests from Amethi people that if I join politics, I should choose Amethi. I remember, my first political campaign with Priyanka was in Amethi in 1999,” Robert Vadra said.

Vadra said that he has been working on the ground since 1999. He said, “People want me to step into politics. Whether it’s the state elections or the central elections, they feel I need to enter politics. Being a member of the Gandhi family, it’s very difficult to stay away from politics. There are demands coming from many places.” 

He highlighted the support from his hometown Moradabad, where people want him to represent them. “I am from Moradabad, and people there want me to represent them, but I have done a lot of work in Amethi, Raebareli, Jagdishpur, and Sultanpur since 1999. If I talk about the South, there were a lot of requests from Telangana for Priyanka and me,” he added.

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday came down heavily on the West Bengal government regarding the Sandeshkhali issue of alleged sexual assault on local women, calling it a matter of great shame. Hearing the matter, the court emphasized that ensuring the security of every citizen falls squarely on the shoulders of the state government.

It further stated that both the district administration and the West Bengal government should bear moral responsibility for the events in Sandeshkhali. Moreover, the court asserted that even if there is a mere one per cent truth to the allegations, it reflects shamefully on the entire administration and the ruling party, who must accept full moral accountability.

 “Even if one per cent is true it is absolutely shameful. West Bengal says it is safest for women. Even if one affidavit is proven to be right, the entire district administration and the ruling party have 100 per cent moral responsibility,” a bench led by Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam stated. 

Petitioner-lawyer Priyanka Tibrewal submitted a voluminous compilation before the court which she said contained around 100 affidavits of alleged victims of sexual assault, apart from those of land grabbing and violence.

A report of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes was also filed by another petitioner-advocate Susmita Saha Dutta, who stated that she had visited Sandeshkhali on NCST’s invitation along with its members, before the court.

The court also severely criticised the lawyer representing Shahjahan Sheikh, who was apprehended on February 29 after evading authorities for nearly two months. The delayed arrest prompted criticism of the West Bengal government and led the High Court to issue a direct order to the state.

Earlier on April 1, a sessions court in Kolkata extended the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody of suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Shahjahan Sheikh till April 13 in the Sandeshkhali matter.

The ED also lodged two Enforcement Case Information Reports (ECIR) against him. One of the ECIRs pertains to corruption in the Public Distribution System (PDS), with the information originating from a letter penned by Jyotiprioryo Mallik, the former Bengal food minister. The other one was filed in regard to unlawful dealings in export-import transactions. This ECIR has allegations of forcible land acquisition. 

It should be mentioned here that the women of Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district have accused Sheikh and his aides of grave excesses and atrocities. Multiple women on the island accused Shajahan and his aides of “land-grab and sexual assault” under coercion.

రఘురామక్రిష్ణరాజు వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ కు రాజీనామాచేసిన తర్వాత.. తన సిటింగ్ సీటు నరసాపురం నుంచే ఎంపీ అభ్యర్థిత్వాన్ని ఆశించారు. ఎన్డీయే కూటమిలో ఏ పార్టీకి ఆ సీటు దక్కితే వారి తరఫున పోటీచేయాలని అనుకున్నారు. ఆ సీటును భాజపా దక్కించుకున్నది గానీ.. టికెట్ మాత్రం ఆయనకు రాలేదు. అప్పటినుంచి సైలెంట్ గా ఉన్న రఘురామ తన చంద్రబాబునాయుడు న్యాయం చేస్తారనే నమ్మకం ఉన్నదంటూ పలుమార్లు చెబుతూ వచ్చారు. ఒకవైపు చంద్రబాబునాయుడు కూడా అభ్యర్తుల ఎంపికను పూర్తిచేసేయగా, ఏదైనా ఒక సీటునుంచి ప్రకటించిన వారిని తప్పించి.. రఘురామకు టికెట్ ఇవ్వవచ్చుననే ప్రచారం జరిగింది.

ఈ విషయంలో చంద్రబాబు నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారని, తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీకి సిటింగ్ స్థానం అయిన ఉండి నుంచి ప్రస్తుతం ప్రకటించిన అభ్యర్థిని తప్పించి రఘురామకు కేటాయించవచ్చునని ప్రచారం జరుగుతోంది. ఉండిలో 2019లో తెలుగుదేశం తరఫున మంతెన రామరాజు పోటీచేసి గెలిచారు. జగన్ హవాను తట్టుకుని పది వేల ఓట్ల మెజారిటీ సాధించారు. ఇప్పుడు మళ్లీ ఆయననే బరిలో తెలుగుదేశం మోహరించింది. వైసీపీ తరఫున పాతప్రత్యర్థి పీవీఎల్ నరసింహరాజుతోనే ఆయన తలపడుతున్నారు. అయితే ఆయనను పక్కకు తప్పించి ఉండి నియోజకవర్గం నుంచి రఘురామక్రిష్ణ రాజును బరిలో దించబోతున్నట్టుగా తెలుస్తోంది. ఒకటిరెండు రోజుల్లో ప్రకటన రావొచ్చు.

అయితే.. ఎమ్మెల్యేగా పోటీకి సిద్ధం అవుతున్న రఘురామక్రిష్ణ రాజు.. తెలుగుదేశం అధికారంలోకి వచ్చిన తరువాత తనకు కావాల్సిన స్థానం ఏమిటో ఇప్పుడే కోరికను బయటపెడుతున్నారు.
చాలా మంది నన్ను అసెంబ్లీలో స్పీకరుగా చూడాలని అనుకుంటున్నారని ఆయన తన కోరికను బయటపెట్టారు. అంటే ఆయన తెదేపా తరఫున ఎమ్మెల్యేగా గెలిచాక, తనకు మంత్రి పదవి అక్కర్లేదుగానీ.. అసెంబ్లీ స్పీకరు పదవి ఇవ్వండి అని ముందే సంకేతాలు పంపుతున్నట్లుంది.

మొన్నమొన్నటి వరకు పరుచూరు నియోజకవర్గానికి ఇన్చార్జిగా ఉన్నప్పటికీ కూడా టికెట్ దక్కించుకోలేకపోయిన చీరాల మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే ఆమంచి కృష్ణమోహన్ వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి రాజీనామా చేశారు. బాపట్ల జిల్లాలోనే వైసీపీకి ఇది పెద్ద దెబ్బగా పలువురు భావిస్తున్నారు. రెండు మూడు నియోజకవర్గాల్లో విస్తృతమైన ప్రజాబలం ఉన్న ఆమంచి కృష్ణమోహన్ ఈ సమయంలో పార్టీని వీడిపోవడం అనేది వైసీపీ నాయకులకు మింగుడుపడడం లేదు. కాగా, 9వ తేదీన తన భవిష్యత్ కార్యచరణ ప్రకటిస్తానని ఆమంచి చెప్పారు. ఆయన తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీలో చేరుతారా? లేదా, ఇండిపెండెంటుగా పోటీచేస్తారా అనేది ఇంకా తెలియలేదు.

ఆమంచి కృష్ణమోహన్ సొంత బలం ఉన్న నాయకుడు. 2009లో కాంగ్రెస్ తరఫున తొలిసారిగా ఎమ్మెల్యే అయిన ఆమంచి, 2014 లో రాష్ట్ర విభజన నేపథ్యంలో ఆ పార్టీనుంచి బయటకు వచ్చారు. సొంతంగా నవోదయం అనే పార్టీ పెట్టుకున్నారు. రాష్ట్రమంతా.. అటు తెలుగుదేశం ఎన్డీయే కూటమి, ఇటు వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ లమధ్య స్పష్టంగా విడిపోయి తీర్పు చెప్పగా.. ఒక్క చీరాలలో మాత్రం ఆమంచి కృష్ణమోహన్ తన సొంత బలంతో నెగ్గారు. తర్వాత పరిణామాల్లో తెలుగుదేశంలో చేరారు.

చంద్రబాబు ప్రభుత్వంలో మంత్రి పదవిని ఆశించారు గానీ వర్కవుట్ కాలేదు. 2019లో ఆ పార్టీని వదలి వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీలో చేరారు. చీరాల బరిలో నిలిచి, తెలుగుదేశం అభ్యర్థి కరణం బలరాం చేతిలో ఓడిపోయారు. కానీ, బలరాం గెలిచిన తర్వాత వైసీపీలో చేరడంతో.. నియోజకవర్గంలో రెండు వర్గాల కుమ్ములాటలు మొదలయ్యాయి. చీరాల సీటు విషయంలో కరణం బలరాంను తప్పించలేని జగన్, ఆమంచిని పర్చూరుకు ఇన్చార్జిగా పంపారు. ఇన్నాళ్లు అక్కడ పార్టీ పని చేసినప్పటికీ.. ఆమంచికి టికెట్ రాలేదు. ఆయన ఆగ్రహించి ఇప్పుడు పార్టీకి రాజీనామా చేసేశారు.

అయితే ఇప్పుడు ఆమంచి తెలుగుదేశంలో చేరుతారా? లేదా ఇండిపెడెంటుగా పోటీచేస్తారా? అనేది చాలా కీలకంగా ఉంది. ఎందుకంటే.. ఆయన ఇండిపెండెంటు అయితే ఇతర నియోజకవర్గాల మీద పెద్ద ఫోకస్ పెట్టలేకపోవచ్చు గానీ.. తెదేపాలో చేరితే చీరాల, పరుచూరులతో పాటు మరికొన్ని నియోజకవర్గాలను కూడా ప్రభావితం చేయగలరని సమాచారం. ఆమంచి మాత్రం ఇండిపెండెంటుగా తన బలాన్ని పరీక్షించుకోవడానికే సిద్ధపడుతున్నట్టుగా తెలుస్తోంది.

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that there is `politics of muder’ in YCP’s DNA only. He criticized them for killing people and doing politics with corpse politics. He recalled that CM Jaganmohan Reddy at one time accused that his father was killed by Reliance. But, he wondered how he offered a Rajya Sabha seat for the same group?

Addressing `Prajagalam’ public meeting in Kovvur on Thursday evening, he said that first there was a chicken knife drama, then satires like `Who killed Babai’ and now killing old people due to delay in pensions delivery.

He alleged that Jagan has been providing 1500 buses to mobilise people for his public meetings, but people are leaving meetings soon after he begins his speech. This reflects a change in the mood of people, who are determined to throw out this government, he added.

The former chief minister expressed concern that Jagan pushed the state into darkness. Appreciating Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan as a `man of masses’, Naidu said that he joined hands with TDP only for the betterment of the state and its people.

BJP President Purandheswari is contesting as MP candidate from Rajahmundry, in which Kovvuru is part. Chandrababu asked her to support her and ensure her winning in the election.

Asserting that he is not against the volunteer system, he made it clear that he will continue the volunteers after the TDP alliance comes to power. However, he advised them to keep away from politics and warned that if some of them dare to campaign for the ruling party, stern action will be taken against such people.

CBI sought cancellation of Avinash Reddy’s bail

In a shocking development to the chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, ahead of the elections, the CBI filed an affidavit in the Telangana High Court, seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail to Kadapa MP and YCP candidate in the present Lok Sabha elections YS Avinash Reddy. The bail was granted by the High Court earlier, in former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case, as he is an accused in the case.  

The CBI appealed to this extent during the hearing on the petition filed by Dastagiri, who became an approver in Viveka’s murder case, on Thursday, seeking cancellation of the bail. Approver Dastagiri, a key witness in the murder case, has filed a petition in the Telangana High Court, saying that his father was recently attacked by Avinash Reddy’s followers and that they had tried to influence him promising to pay Rs 20 crore, when he was in jail.

Responding to Dastagiri’s petition, the High Court directed CBI to file its counter petition and the issue of cancellation of Avinash’s bail came up for hearing on Thursday. Approver Dastagiri’s lawyer brought to the attention of the court that he was threatened by MP Avinash Reddy.

YS Avinash Reddy, who is an accused in the Viveka murder case, was granted anticipatory bail by approaching the Telangana High Court last year as the CBI tried to arrest him. At that time, the High Court granted him conditional bail.

The CBI is alleging that the conditions are being violated and the evidence is being influenced. During the hearing of the petition filed by Dastagiri, the CBI said in its affidavit that the accused in Viveka’s murder case, along with Avinash Reddy are the most influential and they are already threatening witnesses along with Dastagiri.

In this context, the CBI has requested to cancel the bail of Avinash Reddy to protect the evidence. However, the High Court questioned the CBI as to why it did not approach the Supreme Court for the cancellation of Avinash’s bail. In response to this, CBI counsel stated that as Viveka’s daughter Sunitha has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, they have expressed their opinion in it.
