After ECI’s Order, AP Police Arrested Macherla MLA Pinnela!

It seems that Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy has been arrested in the EVM vandalism case by the AP Police  after the Election Commission of India (ECI) ordered for his immediate arrest, following a video showing him destroying an EVM went viral.

According to sources he was reported arrested near Sangareddy in Telangana while he was hiding at a company guest house near Isnapur. Pinnelli brothers are currently in the custody of AP Police.

After asking the Patancheru police about the location of Isnapur, the AP police took the help of the Telangana police till Isnapur and arrested Pinnelli. Earlier in the morning he escaped them when the police were about to arrest him near Kandi on the Mumbai-Hyderabad national highway.

ECI has considered Pinnella breaking EVMs and VVPATs as a serious offense and expressed serious anger over his behaviour.  CEO Mukesh Kumar Meenak has been directed to give a report regarding this incident by 5 pm.

Suspecting that he is trying to flee abroad the police has issued Lookout notices alerting all air ports in the country. Cases have been registered against Pinnelli under 10 sections of the IPC, RP and PDPP Acts. Cases have been registered under sections 143, 147, 448, 427, 353, 452, 120B under IPC, another case has been registered under PD PP Act and cases have been registered under sections 131 and 135 of RP Act. Police registered a case against Pinnelli on 20th of this month.

CEO Meena said that the incident of destruction of EVM by Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy was a shameful act. He said that the EC has found it a failure in conducting free elections. He said that the evidence was handed over to the police the day after the incident. He said that while a total number of 10 EVMs were broken in AP on the polling day, 7 incidents took place in Macherla constituency alone.

Two- time Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who had left for USA soon after polling in Andhra Pradesh, on the plea of his son’s higher education is said to be unlikely to return home if he defeats in the counting of votes to be held on June 4.

Though winning from this seat as TDP candidate, after migrating to ruling YCP soon after 2019 polls, he has cultivates enmity with all sections of people, particularly leaders of both TDP and YCP Moreover, his `politics of hate’ makes him most `unacceptable’ leader. All this has contributed in posing a severe challenge for his re-election and political circles are predicting that he is unlikely to win over present polls.

His close associates of the view that he had left the country sensing his imminent defeat and also with a fear it would be difficult for him to remain here after losing the elections. He is expecting that there would be severe retaliatory attacks on his as for the five years he has been continuing a `region of terror’ against his political opponents.

Incidentally, though after 2019 he had left TDP without resigning as MLA, none of local YCP leaders did not received him and maintained distance towards him. In clear terms, they have been cautioning Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy if the party fields him as its candidate, they would be forced to oppose him.

After YCP announced him as its candidate, constituency in charge Yarlagadda Venkata Rao, an NRI, who had contested against him in 2019 joined TDP and contested as its candidate. This helped in the coming together of all anti- Vamsi forces to intensively work for his defeat.

Particularly, his abusive language used in the state assembly against Nara Bhuvaneswari had earned him a lot of hatred among various sections. This is likely to make it impossible to continue here if TDP forms the next government. So, according to sources for the last year he has been making efforts to settle in the USA by obtaining a VISA there.

As a part of that, it is said that he had invested over Rs.20 crores in two companies in USA, which will enable him to apply for EB 5 VISA and after a year he may even get a Green Card. His associates stated that presently he is in Dallas, from where he is reportedly in touch with some BJP leaders aiming at joining that party. He is expecting that BJP will be helpful for him as a `protection shield’ from possible revenge operations.

Former Union Minister and late prime minister Indira Gandhi’s second daughter-in-law Maneka Gandhi for the first time found a severe challenge to win in the Lok Sabha polls. Till now irrespective of her party symbol, she used to elect easily by directly interacting with the voters.

Her bid for a ninth term in Parliament is one of her most crucial fights in her long- political career. Pushed to the margins of the BJP, with her son Varun Gandhi denied a ticket, Maneka must win Sultanpur to sustain her political legacy.

On the other hand, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav paying special attention towards the constituencies where high-profile BJP leaders are contesting. Stating that except Varanasi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting for the third consecutive term, BJP is going to lose all seats in Uttar Pradesh, he is trying to create a kind of psycho fear in the ruling party.

As there are over 20 percent of Muslim voters in the constituency, Maneka Gandhi is not mentioning Ram Temple, the major campaign issue for other BJP candidates. She admitted that “I have not made it (the Ram Temple) an issue here,” and she is talking about her work and promising to do “more and more”.

 “At the end of the day, people just want their problems to be looked at and want a personal relationship (with their representative). Over the last five years, I have made such personal relationships with visits to every village… There are just local issues here… I work for everybody,” she added. She is also using Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name and his achievements also only occasionally, unlike other BJP leaders.

Referred to as “Matashree” or “Mata ji” by people in the constituency, Maneka had a relatively narrow win from Sultanpur in 2019, by about 14,000 votes against a local influential leader, Chandra Bhadra Singh, fielded by the Samajwadi Party-BSP combine. It was her first contest from Sultanpur, after moving here from Pilibhit, vacating the latter seat for son Varun.

Interestingly, three-time MLA Chandra Bhandra Singh now joined SP giving a great boost to its poll campaign. He is an influential Thakur, who are in good numbers in the constituency and expressing their discontent towards BJP openly.

AP Police Included Attempt To Murder, Conspiracy Charges In Poll- Related Cases

The AP police department has included strong IPC sections in the cases registered on the vandalism that took place after the polling.  Attempt to murder (IPC 307), conspiracy aspect (120B) and Representation of the People Act have also been added against the accused involved in the attacks.

To this extent, the investigating officers filed a memo in the courts of the respective districts on Tuesday. DGP Harish Kumar Gupta revealed that the history sheet has been opened against 85 accused in the riots during the election. PD Act against three people and deportation of two others.

He said that 1,522 people were identified in the cases registered on the day before the election and 2,790 people were identified in the cases registered on the day of the election. The DGP said that 356 people have been identified in the cases registered after the elections.

He said that some have been arrested under 41A CRC and others have been served with notices. 22 cases were reported in Macherla, Narasaraopet, Gurjala of Palnadu district, 4 in Chandragiri and Tirupati of Tirupati district, 7 in Tadipatri of Anantapur district, where local police did not include strong sections in them.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which found that the police officers who got the postings on the recommendation of YCP leaders and public representatives, had done this deliberately. After visiting the field and examining the severity of the attacks and the evidence available there, it recommended the registration of attempted murder sections.

The SIT officials have added Section 120B after detecting conspiracy in almost all the incidents of violence reported in these districts and have also added the Representation of the People Act against the destruction of EVMs in Palnadu district.

Two more cases were registered on Tuesday, against those who vandalized EVMs in this district. So far, the number of cases registered in three districts regarding election violence has reached 35. The number of accused rose from 1,370 to 1,435, but the number of arrests did not exceed 300.

Finding that the candidates had made all arrangements for their followers to leave the state immediately after the polling, SIT sent police teams to gather information about their whereabouts. It is reported that more than 30 people who can open history sheets have been detained.

On Tuesday evening, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta held a video conference with SI IG Vineeth Brizilal, Guntur IG SS Tripathi, Anantapur Range DIG Shemushi Bajpai, Palnadu, Anantapur and Tirupati SPs. The DGP ordered the SIT teams to remain there and coordinate with the local police to ensure that no one is left behind and that the culprits are dealt with severely.

A video related to Macherla YCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy is currently going viral on social media. On the polling day in Andhra Pradesh elections held on May 13, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy went to a polling station in Macherla constituency and destroyed the EVM machine there.

 MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, who came with his followers to the polling booth of Rentachintala Mandal Palvaigate (No 202), went straight to the EVM and smashed the mission. Later, the VV Pat mission was also destroyed.

When the agent there tried to stop the MLA Pinnelli threatened him and left. These scenes were recorded in the CC camera of the polling booth.

 It is noteworthy that the local police have not taken any action on this incident till now.Even an FIR was registered. MLA’s direct involvement in destroying the EVM was also not recorded in the preliminary report submitted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to the DGP.

As the polling day witnessed large scale violent incidents in Macherla constituency that led to clashes between YCP and TDP factions, police only kept MLA Pinnelli under house arrest on the evening of the polling day.

But, leaving his gun men there itself, he had escaped from the back side of the house and till now his whereabouts are not known. Last week itself, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu demanded immediate arrest of Pinnelli to control violent incidents in Palnadu, but no such attempt was made by the police.

After nine days of the incident, the video surfaced on Tuesday and TDP released it on its Twitter.  The TDP alleged that if Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had left the country after his goons resorted to violence at several places, his MLA who was caught destroying an EVM by himself, had left the state.

TDP warned that  anyone who mocked democracy must be held guilty before the law after June 4, when the election results will be released.  Taking this video seriously, the opposition is demanding that the Election Commission and the police to take strict action against MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy.

రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్నత స్థానాలలో ఉండే కీలక అధికారులు ప్రత్యేకంగా సేకరించిన అంచనాలలో కూడా తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీ ప్రభుత్వం ఘనమైన మెజారిటీతో ఏర్పడబోతున్నది అనే సంకేతాలు అందినట్లు సమాచారం. దీంతో అధికార గణాలు ఇప్పుడు తమ రూటు మారుస్తున్నారు. ఏ ఎండకు ఆ గొడుగు పట్టే.. ఏ రోటి కాడ ఆ పాట పాడే వైఖరి మనకు కొత్త కాదు. కానీ రాజకీయ నాయకుల మాదిరిగా- అధికారులు కూడా గద్దెనెక్కబోయే వారిని ప్రసన్నం చేసుకోవడానికి ఆరాటపడుతుండడం విశేషం.

వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ హయాంలో లూప్ లైన్ లో ఉండిపోయిన అధికార్లకు ఈ పరిణామాలు హేపీగానే ఉన్నాయి. ఎటొచ్చీ.. తెలుగుదేశం ప్రభుత్వం వస్తే.. తమను ఆదరిస్తుందని వారు అనుకుంటున్నారు. వైసీపీ ప్రభుత్వం, తమ అడుగులకు మడుగులొత్తని, తమ మాటకు ఎదురు చెప్పే అనేక మంది అధికార్లను గత అయిదేళ్లలో పక్కన పెట్టింది. అప్రాధాన్య పోస్టుల్లో ఉంచింది. వారంతా ఇప్పుడు తమకు మంచిరోజులే అనుకుంటున్నారు. మరొకవైపు.. లోకేష్  పదే పదే ప్రస్తావించిన రెడ్ డైరీలో తమ పేర్లు ఉంటాయనే భయం ఉన్న అధికారులు మాత్రం వణికిపోతున్నారు. తెలుగుదేశం పెద్దలను ముందుగానే ప్రసన్నం చేసుకోవడానికి ఆరాటపడుతున్నారు. మరి వారి ఈ అవకాశవాద ప్రయత్నాలను తెలుగుదేశం ఎలా తీసుకుంటుందో, ఎలా స్పందిస్తుందో వేచిచూడాలి.
