The first cabinet meeting of the newly formed government in Andhra Pradesh will take place on Monday in the state secretariat in Velagapudi. Chief Minister and TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan will preside over this meeting which will see the presence of all cabinet ministers who recently assumed charge of their respective ministries after allotment of portfolios.
The cabinet is likely to discuss various key aspects relating to the state. The roadmap for implementation of key poll promises like ‘Super Six’ schemes is going to be the main agenda for this meeting. The cabinet will come up with a rough estimation of the requisite budget to roll out all cash transfer schemes and other welfare measures.
It is known fact that Chandrababu Naidu has signed files relating to Mega DSC, ban on Land Titling Act, Rs 4000 pension, opening of Anna Canteens and Skill Census implementation immediately after taking charge as Chief Minister few days ago. Now, the cabinet will discuss about implementation of all these promises immediately.
Moreover, the cabinet is going to take a decision on the release of white papers on the facts and figures of all key ministries and its departments. Also, the funds required for construction of capital and Polavaram project are likely to come up for discussion in the meeting.
Further, the cabinet will discuss about the budget sessions which are going to take place in July.
Kamal Haasan’s Comments On Hooch Tragedy Draws Criticism
Universal Actor Kamal Haasan has landed in a controversy for his foot-in-mouth remarks after visiting the victims of the hooch tragedy which took away the lives of nearly 50 people and left several hospitalized in Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu. Kamal spoke to the media after coming out of the government hospital in Kallakurichi and his irresponsible comments on the tragedy resulted in huge backlash from all quarters.
Instead of holding the government responsible for the hapless incident, Kamal said the victims were careless and exceeded their limit which is the reason for the tragedy. He said tipplers should be careful and drink occasionally, but not regularly. He further said that the government should establish psychiatric centres to counsel drunkards over the ill effects of drinking.
Kamal also said that exceeding the limit in any form be it sugar or anything is bad. These remarks from the MNM party chief are met with sharp criticism from both the political circles and common people.
Many are pointing out that Kamal Haasan has got no guts to hold the DMK government under MK Stalin responsible for not cracking down on illicit liquor which is prevalent throughout the state. Some even said that Kamal’s scant knowledge on social issues is another reason why he failed as a politician.
It is a known fact that Kamal Haasan’s party lost deposit in all seats it contested in the 2019 assembly and parliament elections.
