Hyderabad – Bangalore Highway Expansion A Big Boon To Rayalaseema

The proposed expansion of Hyderabad- Bangalore highway expansion from 4 lanes to 12 lanes, which runs through combined districts of Kurnool and Anantapur, will emerge as a big boon to the economic and industrial growth of Rayalaseema region like never before.

Keeping in view the vehicular traffic between the two metro cities, the Center is ready to widen this road after assessing the future needs. As 260 km of this national highway is within AP and it will provide exceptional opportunity for development in all directions along.

In any state, investments will flow depending on the roads and infrastructure there. Industrialists will focus on border districts if they have wide roads, airports and seaports nearby. Along with this, if land is available at low prices, they will compete to set up industries there.

Now Kurnool, Nandyala and Anantapur districts will get all these benefits soon. Mainly, the central government is establishing economic corridors along the expressways across the country and giving incentives to them. Economic corridors will be established along the highway. This will facilitate entrepreneurs from Karnataka and Telangana to look towards Rayalaseema for their investments.

In these districts, the land prices are low and there is no shortage of electricity and water. This will increase employment opportunities in a big way. As land prices are high in the Telangana side too, those who want to set up new industries there can choose land near Hyderabad- Bangalore highway in Kurnool district.

Bangalore Kempegowda International Airport is just 80 km from the AP- Karnataka border. Puttaparthi Airport is 25 km from Penukonda. Orvakal Airport is just 30 km from Kurnool. Shamshabad Airport in Telangana can be reached by traveling a distance of 195 km from Kurnool.

National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics, a central government institution, has already been established in Anantapur district. BHEL construction work is going on. In the past, due to Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts, the Kia industry established a car factory at Penukonda, which had brought a big change in the environment of the area.

The widening of the National Highway with 12 lanes will create an opportunity for a large number of new industries to come up. If government lands are identified along this highway and APIIC industrial clusters are set up in them, small and medium scale industries will also flock to these areas.

Most of the key appointments in Chandrababu Naidu administration are resulting in discontent among TDP cadres. They are surprised that several officers who were known to their proximity with previous YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime and against whom TDP itself levelled severe accusations, are now again placed in key positions.

It may be recalled that when Jagan came to power in 2019 all those who were in key posts during Chandrababu’s regime were thrown aside. Starting from the SPs and Collectors at the district level to the secretaries and chief secretaries at the state level, no one has been left behind. In the end Jagan sidelined those who acted neutrally and worked methodically.

They put the seal of ‘They are all TDP’ and pushed them into unimportant posts. Those officers were threatened. In a way, for five years, all these officers experienced deep emotional distress. Now the government has changed. Chandrababu became the Chief Minister. But distress continues among such officials even now.

During the election campaign, Chandrababu has warned officials, who had identified themselves with CM Jagan and harassed TDP leaders stating that ‘We will solve the account of false officials’. Nara Lokesh’s rage before the election by saying ‘Red Book’ is understandable.

During Jagan’s regime, many officers wore the ‘blue’ color and acted as if ‘YCP said the Vedas’. Their involvement in large scale corruption and massive irregularities in administration became much talked about during the poll campaign.

But  after coming to power, all the words of Chandrababu and Lokesh were drowned in the ‘victory chorus’. Nothing has happened except that a handful of officials were kept aside without giving postings.

During Jagan’s regime, the officials who worked under intense pressure and acted neutrally, now unable even to get an appointment with the Chief Minister to represent their agony. Officials present at Chief Minister’s Office said to be creating a gulf between CM and such officials.

Most of the officials at CMO are said to be closely associated with Jagan’s regime. A senior TDP leader suspected that some hidden force was influencing Chandrababu’s administration.

Naidu’s Delhi Visit Revives Stalled Highway projects

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s Delhi visit last week seems to augur well for the state after his fruitful deliberations with the central government on various key issues during his two day tour. Besides meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Naidu convened crucial meetings with all significant cabinet ministers to put forth the important issues of the state. 

Among all his meetings, the one with Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari turned out be the biggest success from state’s perspective . This because, Gadkari promised to fulfill all the demands put forward by Naidu. Gadkari assured to complete all pending projects relating to Andhra Pradesh in the next couple of years. He has reportedly green signalled to speed up works relating to Amaravati outer ring road Vijayawada Eastern Bypass road during this meeting. 

Besides these projects, Gadkari also agreed to revive the stalled highway works relating to 8 routes in Andhra Pradesh. These works were stopped nine months ago due to lack of funds under the Bharat Mala Pariyojana scheme which aims to develop road infrastructure and solid network with all major routes. Some of the crucial highways passing through different districts in Andhra Pradesh are covered under this scheme. 

A total outlay of Rs 8500 Crores is likely to incur for developing 4 lane routes in these 8 National Highways. However, the works were stopped last year due to shortage of funds under the scheme. As these 8 routes play a significant role in improving the road connectivity within our state and with the neighbouring states, Naidu has reportedly requested Gadkari to complete them at the earliest. 

The routes covered in this project include Vizag – Aaraku route, Pedana – Nuzivedu – Vissannapeta route, Gorantla – Hindupur Route, Nandyala – Kurnool route, Sangameshwar – Atmakur route, Kondamedu – Pericherla route, Vempalli – Proddutur Route and Mudunuri – Pulivendula – B. Kothapalli route. 

Tenders for a couple of these projects have already been sanctioned while others are in approval stage.

Naidu And Revanth chalk Out Strategies To Resolve Bifurcation Issues

In a first step to resolve the decade long pending bifurcation issues after the separation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in 2014, the Chief Ministers of Telugu States met on Saturday evening in Hyderabad and chalked out the strategies and roadmap to find some headway. The initiative came to the fore when AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu invited his Telangana counterpart Revanth Reddy for a parley to amicably discuss the post-bifurcation issues. Reddy immediately accepted the proposal and the meeting materialized within a week. 

The high-profile meeting between the two CMs lasted for nearly two hours. They were accompanied by three ministers each from both cabinets along with chief secretaries and some key officers. Before the meeting, Naidu received a warm welcome by the Telangana contingent. Revanth Reddy presented ‘Naa Godava’ book to Naidu and the duo exchanged some pleasantries before moving into the discussion on the main agenda. 

Sources revealed that both CMs vowed to address the issues by setting up committees led by ministers and officers separately and discuss about the roadmap to settle them. They took a call that CMs would intervene only if the issues are not resolved at the lower level. The discussion primarily focussed on the apportionment of assets and liabilities of different institutions listed under Schedule IX and X as also those that did not find mention in the Reorganisation Act.

Further, both CMs mutually agreed to write to the Centre for the re-merger of five villages, that were handed over to Andhra Pradesh post-bifurcation, back with Telangana. Sources said the Telangana government refused more time to the AP government to vacate buildings allocated to it in Hyderabad. The Telangana government explained about their all-out war against narcotics and drugs so as to protect the future generations and sought the cooperation of Andhra Pradesh government. 

The Chief Ministers also identified areas of cooperation and working together. The two states agreed to secure all their rights from the Centre that were promised in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy convened at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad to discuss a ten-point agenda aimed at resolving longstanding bifurcation issues. The meeting saw the participation of ministers and officials from both states. During the discussions, Revanth Reddy presented Chandrababu Naidu with a copy of ‘Na Godava,’ a book authored by Telangana writer Kaloji Narayana Rao, and felicitated him with a shawl. In return, Chandrababu Naidu gifted Revanth Reddy a portrait of Lord Venkateswara.

The meeting was attended by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Sridhar Babu, and Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari along with other officials. Key issues on the agenda included the status of the seven mandals in Khammam, water sharing, distribution of assets listed in the Ninth and Tenth Schedules, pending financial bills, division of employees, and the transfer of buildings in Hyderabad.

భూసేకరణతో కలిపి 20 నుంచి 25 వేల కోట్ల రూపాయలు భరించి.. ఈ ఓఆర్ఆర్ నిర్మాణం చేపట్టడానికి కేంద్రప్రభుత్వం చంద్రబాబునాయుడుకు హామీ ఇచ్చింది. అమరావతి రాజధాని విషయంలో ఇది చాలా కీలకమైన ముందడుగు. ఓఆర్ఆర్ పనులు ప్రారంభం అయితే గనుక.. అది హద్దుగా.. నగరంలో ప్రతిచోటా నిర్మాణాలు ప్రారంభం అవుతాయి. ఇప్పటికే అమరావతిని రాజధానిగా ప్రభుత్వం గెజిట్ నోటిఫికేషన్ కూడా తెచ్చింది. దాదాపు 150 కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ రంగ సంస్థలకు కేటాయించిన స్థలాల్లో వారు కార్యాలయాలు నిర్మించుకోవడానికి సిఆర్డీయే అధికారులు చర్చలు జరుపుతున్నారు.

ఓఆర్ఆర్ పనులు జరగడం మొదలైతే గనుక.. ఈ సంస్థలన్నీ కూడా తమ తమ కార్యాలయాల నిర్మాణాలను చేపట్టడానికి చురుగ్గా కదులుతాయి. రాజధాని నిర్మాణంపై అందరికీ విశ్వాసం ఏర్పడుతుంది. రాజధానికి భూములు కేటాయించిన రైతులకు వారి వాటాగా లభించి స్థలాలను కనీసం ఒక ఏడాదిలోగా నిర్దిష్టంగా కేటాయించగలిగితే గనుక.. అమరావతి వ్యాప్తంగా ప్రెవేటు నిర్మాణాలు కూడా వేగంగా మొదలవుతాయి. వెరసి ఒకే ఒక్క అవుటర్ రింగ్ రోడ్డు అనే ప్రాజెక్టు వలన.. అమరావతి నగర నిర్మాణంలో అనూహ్యమైన వేగం వస్తుందని పలువురు అంచనా వేస్తున్నారు. ఇది కేంద్రం ద్వారా చంద్రబాబు సాధించిన విజయంగా ప్రజలు పరిగణిస్తున్నారు.

We focused on finding mutually acceptable solutions that could foster cooperation between our states,” Chandrababu stated. పులివెందులలో ఇలాంటి సంప్రదాయం గతంలో ఎప్పుడూ జరగలేదని ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ఎన్నికల తర్వాత అంతా కలిసి ఉండే పరిస్థితి అని.. కానీ చంద్రబాబు అధికారంలోకి వచ్చాక చెడు సంప్రదాయానికి తెర లేపారన్నారు. భయాందోళన వాతావరణం సృష్టించాలని చూస్తున్నారన్నారు. ఇప్పటికైనా ఇలాంటి దాడులను ఆపాలని చంద్రబాబును హెచ్చరిస్తున్నానన్నారు.

– కృష్ణాజలాల్లో 558 TMCలు కేటాయించాలి.
– ఏపీలో కలిపిన 7 మండలాలు వెనక్కి ఇవ్వాలి.
– విద్యుత్‌ బకాయిలు రూ.24వేల కోట్లు చెల్లించాలి.
– కృష్ణపట్నం, మచిలీపట్నం, గంగవరం పోర్టుల్లో భాగం ఇవ్వాలి.
