Story :
The story of “Bharateeyudu 2” (Indian 2) revolves around the return of the legendary freedom fighter Senapathy (Kamal Haasan), who aims to eradicate corruption in the country. Chitra Aravindan (Siddharth) and his friends, including Aarthi (Priya Bhavani Shankar), run a YouTube channel called “Barking Dogs” to expose corrupt activities. Despite their efforts, they find their impact limited and long for a more powerful figure to help them in their cause. Chitra recalls the heroic deeds of “Indian” aka Senapathy, who fought against corruption two decades ago. Inspired, Chitra launches the #ComebackIndian campaign on social media, hoping to bring Senapathy back from Taipei to join their fight.
Much to Chitra Aravindan astonishment, Senapathy returns, triggering a series of events that profoundly affect the lives of several individuals. Chitra’s father, Varadarajan (Samuthirakhani), gets caught up in the turmoil, while CBI officer Pramod (Bobby Simha) becomes deeply involved in the investigation. The mysterious Disha (Rakul Preet Singh) and the scheming Sakala Kala Vallabhudu (SJ Suryah) also find themselves entangled in the chaos. The narrative explores their interconnected fates as Senapathy’s comeback sends shockwaves through the nation, showcasing the widespread impact of his renewed crusade against corruption.
REVIEW :
Kamal Haasan, as expected, brings a passionate performance, infusing the role with his distinctive intensity and charisma. He tries to elevate the scenes with his expressive gestures and strong screen presence. However, the character doesn’t have the depth and strength we’ve come to anticipate from him.. In some scenes, his appearance unintentionally comes across as humorous.
Siddharth delivers a commendable performance, displaying moments of intensity, although his mannerisms can sometimes seem overdone. Priya Bhavani Shankar and Rakul Preet Singh perform their roles adequately, with Rakul having a limited presence on screen. Bobby Simha impresses with a strong portrayal, while Samuthirakhani gives a capable performance. SJ Suryah’s attempt at humor often ends up being overly comical. Brahmanandam, in a brief appearance, brings his usual comedic flair. The rest of the supporting cast performs well within the scope of their roles.
Shankar’s “Bharateeyudu 2 once again delves into the pervasive issue of corruption and the protagonist’s crusade for a corruption-free society. While the film successfully taps into these familiar themes and the need for change, the narrative unfortunately takes a predictable route. The initial setup, where disillusioned youth rally for the return of “Indian,” feels somewhat lacking in originality.
In the latter half of the film, as it explores the aftermath of “Indian’s” comeback and the ensuing reactions, it struggles to evoke the emotional depth and essence that defined the original. The storyline meanders, presenting disconnected vignettes that depict corruption across India and the impact of “Indian’s” actions without a cohesive narrative thread.
The film struggles to forge a deep emotional connection with the audience, resulting in underdeveloped characters and a lack of emotional resonance at its core.
Unfortunately, Anirudh Ravichander’s music in the film doesn’t quite meet expectations. The songs lack memorability and fail to make a lasting impact, while the background score doesn’t effectively elevate the scenes as anticipated.
Despite its impressive production values, ‘Bharateeyudu’ falls short of its predecessor, lacking the emotional depth and dramatic impact that made the original so powerful.
Overall, “Bharateeyudu 2” lacks the strong narrative and emotional impact of the original. The character of Senapathy is especially underwhelming in the sequel, often portrayed merely as an action hero. Although the return of Senapathy initially sparks curiosity, the storyline doesn’t maintain that interest. Furthermore, “Bharateeyudu 2” leaves the audience hanging with a cliffhanger ending, teasing a glimpse of “Bharateeyudu 3” with a trailer.
Live Updates
Waiting…..
It’s interesting to see how “Indian 2” will turn out, especially given the high bar set by the original. Director Shankar’s unique storytelling and grand visuals have always been his strengths, but sequels often face the challenge of living up to the original’s legacy. It might be refreshing to watch it with zero expectations, as it could lead to a more enjoyable and unbiased experience.

As a union steel minister for the first time he visited the Plant in Visakhapatnam on Thursday and inspected the activities along with Union Minister of State for Steel Srinivasa Verma. Later he told the media that Visakha Steel Plant is helping the country’s economic development.
The Union Minister’s announcement has gained importance in the context of the opposition YCP’s campaign that the TDP-led alliance government in the state has already agreed for its privatization. Stating that many people are dependent on the Visakha Steel Plant, the Union Minister said that it is their responsibility to protect it.
He assured both Plant employees and also citizens of Visakhapatnam that there need not be worry that the plant will be closed. He said that with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the production will be done at 100 percent capacity. He promised to bring all matters related to the steel plant to the attention of Prime Minister Modi.
He said that after taking permission from the Prime Minister, there will be an official decision along with an announcement. He asked the workers to give him 2 months time saying that there is no need to worry.
On the other hand, after visiting the plant, Kumaraswamy shared his opinion in the visitor’s diary there: “After visiting this steel plant, I realized that this plant will help the economic development of the country. Many families depend on this plant for their daily needs and livelihood. It is our responsibility to protect this plant. You should not worry that this plant will close down. With his blessings and help from Prime Minister Modi, the plant will produce at 100% capacity.”
Meanwhile, recently another Union Minister Kishan Reddy made it clear that there is no progress on the Visakha Steel Plant privatization move. The workers at the plant are elated as now Union Steel Minister Kumaraswamy has also said that there is no need to worry.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed anger over the misinformation going on that he has agreed for the privatization of Visakhapatnam steel plant and refuted stating that such campaigns are being run from a `factory of lies’. Asking people to be cautious towards such words of thieves, he assured that he knew how to save this Plant.
He asserted that the factory was born for the self-respect of the Telugu people with a motto `Visakha Steel is Rights of Andhras’, which right will not be abandoned at any cost. He recalled that during Vajpayee’s reigime, he fought and prevented privatization and knew how to save the factory.
Chandrababu assured that the NDA government will protect the Visakha Steel factory which was born as a right of Andhras. Lamenting that hardcore financial terrorists have looted Visakha and they will not be spared at all.
Chandrababu Naidu first time after assuming charge as Chief Minister is touring Anakapalli and Vizianagaram districsts of North Andhra on Thursday. He inspected the progress of Polavaram left canal works at Darlapudi in Anakapalli district and inquired about the progress of the works. Between 2014-19, Chandrababu tried to divert water to the left canal in the same way as Pattiseema. However, the works were not completed due to technical hurdles as well as land acquisition issues.
He said that the super six mentioned in the election will be implemented. He said that it was not even 30 days since he came to power, but already enhanced pensions were distributed to people beginning from the month of April, which reflects TDP’s commitment towards the poor.
He also recalled that he had foiled YS Jagan’s grand design of looting people’s lands by abolishing the Land Titling Act. He said Anna Canteens will be revived from August 15.
Chief Minister cautioned people not to believe the demon that tormented the people. He said people entrusted him with the task of getting rid of that demon forever. He said that he is committed to taking measures to ensure improvement in the incomes of people.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay has warned that the government will not leave red sandalwood smugglers, who have risen to the state of giving loans to the government. Indirectly referring to horrible corruption during the previous YCP regime, he said that the central government will seek a report on red sandalwood smugglers and also looting at Tirumala.
After offering prayers at Tirumala on Thursday with family members, Sanjay said that strict action will be taken based on the report against those who looted the national wealth and there is no need to fear political pressure in this matter.
He said that the rule of robbers who wanted to convert seven hills into two hills is gone and the rule of servants who always remember Govindu has come. He deplored that until recently Hindu Dharma was attacked by assigning positions at Tirumala to the people of other religions. He accused that during the previous regime, he alleged that Veerappan’s descendants looted thousands of crores of rupees by smuggling red sandalwood, the national treasure of the Seshachalam hills.
Sanjay said that he will take this matter to the attention of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and submit a report and appropriate action will be taken based on the report.
He expressed happiness that presently there is a pious and religious atmosphere in Tirumala. But until recently, he alleged that those who did not believe in God and did not think about Dharma were rehabilitated here providing political employment. Such people looted Lord Venkateswara’s assets, he added.
Sanjay said that he was told about the influence of red sandalwood smugglers here and how political leaders were at their mercy for their own survival. He said that already Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and BJP leaders have been taking steps to bring back the spiritual environment of Tirumala and also expose those robbers and smugglers. He assured that both state and central governments will take strict action against them.
Several Vice Chancellors, who allegedly turned their chambers into YCP offices during YS Jaganmohan Reddy regime resorted to innumerable irregularities turning universities as `rehabilitation centers’ for YCP leaders.
Former Andhra University Vice Chancellor Prof Prasada Rao, who was notorious for his open involvement in YCP activities had surprisingly appointed YCP leader Lakshmi Parvathi as a Professor in the University, three years ago. But the irregular appointment came to light only now.
She was made as a Telugu professor in the newly established Trans-Disciplinary Research (TDR) Hub at the University. Giving her Professor status, the university appointed her as a guide to PhD scholars.
This TDR Hub has been set up to provide an opportunity to those who are performing jobs in various organizations to do PhD. James Stephen, who has no connection with the university, was brought in and made the dean of this TDR hub.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi Parvati stays in Vijayawada. All the PhD scholars are from Visakhapatnam. She was appointed without considering how she would guide them there. She was also made a guide for 10 researchers.
The professor who acts as a guide to the researchers doing PhD should have taught the lessons to the PG students. Must have at least five years of experience in teaching. At least one should have contributed in the process of awarding Ph.D.
Without any of such qualifications, Lakshmi Parvati was appointed as a guide. Moreover, she was also given some honorarium under ‘guide ship’. But hardly any trace of her guiding scholars. When the scholars expressed agitation from whom they can seek guidance, the Dean James Stephen assured them “You don’t need such fear. We will take care of everything.”
There are allegations that this TDR hub was set up to award PhDs required for promotions to employees who have contributed to YCP in all ways and working in various organizations. Surprisingly for the first time in the educational arena, a new term ‘Executive PhD’ was introduced.
This hub is running against the rules. More than 150 people are doing research here. They are from all departments like Telugu, Hindi, English, Commerce, Management. Generally such researchers should be associated with the relevant department.
Examinations should also be conducted under the supervision of the respective departments. But, James Stephen is not following any of these rules. Other than, Lakshmi Parvati, they brought people working in private colleges and appointed them as professors.
For those who are doing such research, the tests are conducted there and they themselves award marks to them. Knowing this matter, Dean of Examinations Dr. DVR Murthy raised an objection and cautioned that such tests will not be recognized.
Now is the time for them to be tested. The Vice-Chancellor has to give proceedings for this. As there is no one as VC at present, science college principal Dr. MVR Raju has given notification of the exams. However, it is noteworthy that permission is not given to conduct examinations in the TDR hub. Satyanarayana, head of the Hindi department, demanded an early inquiry into the cross-border affairs in the TDR hub.
