Anirudh Is No Match To AR Rahman Says Critics

Tamil composer Anirudh Ravichander is the ‘Numero Uno’ music director in the country right now. He is ruling the roost in all languages after delivering chartbuster songs and thumping background score for numerous films in different languages. Unfortunately, he failed to live up to the high expectations of moviegoers with his latest film Indian 2. 

Music maestro AR Rahman played a significant role in making Indian ( Bharateeyudu) an iconic blockbuster with his classic songs and stupendous background score for crucial portions in the film. The Shankar – Rahman combination has a legion of fans even till today. 

For one or the other reason, Shankar didn’t repeat Rahman for Indian 2, a sequel to the 1996 film. He roped in Anirudh and raised the eyebrows of everyone. However, many believed that Anirudh can match the calibre of Rahman and expected him to deliver his best work for Indian 2. 

But, Anirudh’s composition came as a huge disappointment to everyone. Neither songs nor BGM rendered by Anirudh matched the hype on Indian 2. Critics pointed that Shankar did a mistake by not retaining Rahman for this film. Critics expressed that Anirudh is no match to Rahman’s brilliance in the first part. 

Some people opine that there is no scope for Anirudh to save the film with his work because of the spiritless script and lackluster narration by Shankar.

ED Arrests Former Karnataka  Congress Minister Nagendra In Valmiki scam

The Enforcement Directorate Friday night arrested former 52-year-old Karnataka minister and Congress leader B Nagendra in connection with a money laundering probe related to the misappropriation of Rs 94.73 crore in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited.

According to sources, the arrest process was being formalized and the four-time MLA would be produced before a court on Saturday. Nagendra is accused of embezzling funds for his benefit while serving as the minister of this department. He was questioned for more than 13 hours before being held.

He  is a Congress MLA from the Bellary Rural constituency.

This arrest is related to the investigation of the alleged scam in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation, in which funds amounting to approximately Rs 88 crores were allegedly misappropriated.

Following raids on several of his associated locations from July 10-12, Nagendra was brought to the ED office in Shantinagar, Bengaluru, for interrogation on the morning of July 12.

This alleged scam came to light when an employee of the corporation, N. Chandrasekharan, committed suicide on May 26, citing the embezzlement of funds in his suicide note and blaming the minister for it. Nagendra was overseeing the corporation as the Minister for Scheduled Tribe Welfare in the Karnataka government.

Following the revelation of the alleged scam, the Minister resigned on June 6. Three agencies—SIT, CBI, and ED—are investigating this case. The SIT has arrested 11 people and seized Rs 14.5 crores of the allegedly embezzled amount.

On July 9, a day before the ED’s raid, the SIT interrogated Nagendra and Basangouda Daddal, a Congress MLA from the Raichur Rural constituency and the chairman of the corporation. Following B. Nagendra’s arrest, the possibility of Basangouda Daddy’s arrest also looms large.

According to the police complaint filed by the ST Corporation officials, some of the corporation officials allegedly forged signatures and illegally transferred Rs 94,73,08,500 to various accounts. The FIR also alleges that the corporation did not receive any intimation of these transactions.

Former AP CID chief during YS Jaganmohan Reddy regime was notoriously known as an IPS officer who was keen on engineering YCP political agenda, more than rule of law. Though his career was itself locked up in several accusations, his reaction to the registering a case at Nagarampalem Police Station in Guntur on the basis of TDP MLA K Ramakrishnam Raju complaint is likely to push him into many more troubles.

His comments regarding the FIR registered under the Bharateeya Nyaya Samhitha (BNS) are causing a stir. At the same time, criticism is pouring in that he distorted the decision of the Supreme Court. Legal experts say that the comments made by the DG rank officer on the court decisions on the social media platform are against the provisions of All India Civil Service Rules.

The Jaganmohan Reddy government’s action against AB Venkateswara Rao, a senior IPS officer (retired), who tried to explain the allegations against him, is mentioned here. Sunil Kumar responded to the case against him on the in a posting on ‘X’.

He posted, ‘In a case which has been rejected by the Supreme Court after three years, it is left to your wisdom to file a new FIR’. This comment is causing a stir now. In fact, the Supreme Court did not reject the petition filed by Raghurama Raju’s son. The Apex Court admitted the request when he said ‘We will go to the High Court… we will withdraw the petition here’.

By openly finding fault on the registration of an FIR by the police by giving perverse interpretation to it said to be amount to violation of the All India Service Rules. Legal experts are asserting that Sunil Kumar has resorted to spreading misinformation stating that the Supreme Court had closed the matter three years ago.

Moreover, Sunil Kumar, who was named as Accused No 1 in the FIR surprisingly took the caste reference to defend himself. “Wherever there is injustice to Dalits, I will be there,” he tweeted.

Even senior IPS officers are wondering that how a person in All India services can take a shelter of his community for alleged crimes committed by himself? On the otherhand netizens are pouring series of questions to him in social media on this regard.

‘If he is really a Dalit bias, where was Dr. Sudhakar when he tied his hands and crushed him on the road? What happened when MLC Anantha Babu killed his driver and delivered the dead body to his door? Where did you hide when a Dalit youth was beheaded in Rajahmundry? Why did he not post on social media when he filed atrocity cases against Dalit farmers in Amaravathi?

Vallabaneni Vamshi Can’t Escape Arrest ?

Former Gannavaram MLA Vallabaneni Vamshi, who shifted loyalties from TDP to YSRCP after winning in 2019 elections, is one of those leaders who vehemently criticised Chandra Babu Naidu and also resorted to his character assassination. Enraged with his remarks on Naidu and Lokesh in the last five years, the TDP high command has been waiting for an opportunity to take revenge on Vamshi at any cost.  

As Vamshi is allegedly one of the key conspirators behind the 2021 attack on TDP central office in Gannavaram, he was named as A71 in the charge sheet filed by the police in this case which is being investigated at a rapid speed ever since Chandra Babu Naidu took charge as the Chief Minister after the recent assembly elections. The police have already arrested 15 persons who were involved in this attack. Some of the YSRCP leaders like Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy, Alla Rama Krishna Reddy, Devineni Avinash and few others are under the scanner. 

As per reliable reports, the TDP is going all-out to incriminate Vallabaneni Vamshi in this case and arrest him in the coming days. Sources revealed that there is strong evidence to book Vamshi for allegedly hatching the plan to attack the TDP office. He is said to have instigated his henchmen and YSRCP supporters to participate in the attack. 

Meanwhile, Vamshi is in hibernation after the election results. There is no news about his whereabouts since June 7th when he left India. There are reports that Vamshi is planning to quit politics and settle in USA due to fear of retaliation from the TDP. It is believed that Vamshi is in Hyderabad and making arrangements to leave the country very soon. 

But, the TDP is putting in all efforts to arrest Vamshi before escapes from the country. As Revanth Reddy is the Chief Minister of Telangana, it is not difficult for Naidu’s government to know about Vamshi’s plans. So, there is strong chances that he cannot escape arrest in this case. 

It is likely that Vamshi will seek legal route and file for anticipatory bail just like how other YSRCP leaders who are implicated in this case approached the court and stopped arrests until further investigation.

Bharatiya Rastra Samithi, which was once tipped to be emerge as the strongest regional political party that could call shots at the national level, seems to have turned into a shadow of its former self after the poor electoral performance in last year’s assembly elections and the recent Loksabha elections. While losing in the last year’s polls was a huge setback, the decimation in parliament elections is turning out to sound a death knell to future of KCR’s party. 

Ever since the Congress party under the leadership of Revanth Reddy came to power in Telangana, many leaders of BRS started deserting the party on various grounds. Already 8 MLAs who won on BRS ticket in assembly elections last year defected into the Congress party despite a lot of hue and cry from KCR and his cadre over anti-defection law. 

On Friday, Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud quit BRS and took shelter under the Congress party in the presence of Revanth Reddy. Along with MLA, a couple of municipal councillors from the constituency also jumped ship. He was the eight MLA of BRS to join the Congress party. After the Loksabha results, the exodus of BRS MLAs is unstoppable. 

Close on heels to this development, another MLA gave shock to BRS on Saturday morning. Sherlingampally MLA Arkepudi Gandhi jumped into INC in the presence of Revanth Reddy. Gandhi along with several corporators in his constituency and many followers called on Revanth at his residence in Jubilee Hills today morning and announced his joining into the party. 

Despite strong efforts from the BRS leadership to stop these defections, many MLAs are in a dilemma as some of their colleagues have already left the party. The BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao recently called for a meeting of city MLAs to send a strong signal of his control over the party. Interestingly two MLAs who attended that meeting – Prakash Goud and Arikepudi Gandhi shifted loyalties within days.

The BRS is now left with only 29 MLAs out of 39 as Congress secured the Secunderabad Cantonment seat in By-election and remaining 9 MLAs defected including the one today morning.

Chandrababu’s one-month Regime Marks Several key Decisions

The first one month of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s governance, after the NDA alliance won the elections, marks several key decisions and important initiatives. He took charge on July 12th and soon after he signed on five crucial files honoring his election promises.

The files include Mega DSC to recruit 16,347 teacher posts, abolition of Land Titling Act, increase of pensions and revival of Anna Canteens. It has revived the spirit of Amaravati capital, which was pushed to cold storage by the previous regime and initiated several steps for restoration of construction activity here. First, the government took up cleaning the bushes.  Preliminary discussions were held with the World Bank officials to renew the loan proposal to develop the capital city.

He also focused on another important task of completing Polavaram project. His first official visit after taking charge was to Polavaram and started preparations for speedy clearance of various hurdles involved in it. Global experts from USA and Canada visited the project and provided their suggestions for resolving hardships.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is conducting reviews on all the key departments. He started releasing white papers on key issues so that people should be aware of the destruction caused by the YS Jaganmohan Reddy regime and also challenges being faced by his government. The first white paper was on Polavaram, followed by Amaravati and Power Crisis.  The next white paper on state finances will be released soon. Free sand policy started into implementation.

During his first official visit to New Delhi, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, besides over 10 ministers and key officials like NITI Aayog Vice Chairman. He held discussions with them mentioning the support required by his government to recover from the mess created by the previous regime.

He is said to be presented with a requirement of over Rs 1 lakh crore worth financial support from the center in phases. Discussions were held with various industrialists as well as large central government bodies such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

The issue of setting up a petrol refinery unit with an investment of 60,000 crores was discussed at length. Discussions were also held with automobile company Winfast. Some more companies have started making efforts to invest in the state.

While focusing on the problems of the state on the one hand, Chandrababu focused on the problems of bifurcation on the other hand. As part of this, he held a meeting with Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy. Both of them agreed to form two key committees, one with chief secretaries and another with ministers to resolve bifurcation issues.

Indian 2 Takes A Moderate opening At Box-office

Kamal Haasan’s long delayed sequel Indian 2, a follow-up to the 1996 iconic vigilante thriller Indian ( Bharateeyudu), finally made it to the screens this Friday amid decent expectations because of the heady combination. Unfortunately, the film opened to mixed reports from early premieres and ended the day on a disappointing note with moderate box office numbers. 

As per trade reports, Indian 2 grossed close to 55 Crores worldwide on the first day. While the domestic gross from all languages sums up to 29.60 Crores, the overseas territories added another 25 Crores to take the overall collections past the 50 Crore mark. Indian 2 fell short of Kamal’s last solo release Vikram which notched up 66 Crores on its opening day. 

In Tamilnadu, Indian 2 managed to gross only 13 crores on the first day and disappointed the trade circles because the openings are not on par to that of the expectations for a Shankar Shanmugam film. In Telugu States, the sequel collected 9.5 Crores. In Karnataka, the first day gross is 3.45 Crores and in Kerala it is 2.3 Crores. 

The biggest shock to trade circles is the lukewarm response in North India. Indian 2 collected a abysmal gross of 1.6 Crores from all territories. 

In North America, the film grossed more than $ 1 million on the first day including premieres. The remaining territories in overseas added decent numbers. 

Overall, Indian 2 took a below-par start given the hype for Shankar – Kamal Haasan combination and also because it is a sequel to a blockbuster film. The reviews and word of mouth are not so encouraging. So, it needs a miraculous turn around during the weekend for the film to sustain in the coming few days.

The the three-member panel constituted by the AICC under the leadership of senior party leader PJ Kurien to look into reason for party’s debacle in Lok Sabha elections in Telangana has abruptly concluded its Hyderabad visit. The Panel that reached the city on a three-day visit, concluded on the second day itself.

While PJ Kurian left for Kerala on Friday morning, the other two members spent the evening till 4 o’clock asking the opinions of MLAs and DCC presidents of the constituency. It is known that the defeated MP candidates who appeared before the committee and the winning MPs wrote the same script and said that they lost because the BRS vote bank went to the BJP.

The panel members said to be surprised with this uniform script. They wondered whether they all decided to say something before meeting them?

Rikabul Hasan, a member of the Kurian Committee, told the media that they will present their report to the authorities on the 21st of this month. The state leaders poured salt on PCC president and CM Revanth Reddy saying that the selection of candidates was not done properly so that they did not win the majority of MP seats despite being in power.

They alleged that leaders from other parties were included in the party before the elections and weak candidates were selected so that BJP candidates could win in four places. But all those who appeared before the committee did not mention any of these reasons. Are they afraid of the state leadership?

However, Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Rangareddy told the media that the reason why Congress candidates did not win in the Lok Sabha seats of Chevella, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad and Secunderabad in the joint Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts was because these districts were not represented in the cabinet.

Feroze Khan, who contested as Nampally MLA and lost, gave a different argument, saying that due to the poor alliance of the Congress party with the MIM in the parliamentary elections, the Hindu voters turned towards the BJP.

He complained that this was the reason for the defeat of Congress candidates in Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Chevella, Medak, Mahbubnagar, Karimnagar and Nizamabad seats. Feroze Khan is also known to have said that on the suggestion of MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, the Congress party fielded a dummy candidate in the Hyderabad seat, and if he had been given a ticket from there, he would have definitely won.

ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి ఐదేళ్లపాటు పరిపాలన సాగించారు. కానీ ఎన్నడైనా సరే రోడ్డు పక్కన ఆగి ప్రజల నుంచి వెనకే పత్రాల స్వీకరించిన సన్నివేశాన్ని ఎవరైనా చూశారా? అసలు రోడ్డుమీద జగన్ ప్రయాణిస్తూ ఉండగా ఆయనను దర్శించుకునే భాగ్యమైనా ప్రజలకు కలిగిందా? జగన్ ఎప్పుడు ఏ ఊరిలో కార్యక్రమానికి హాజరైనా సరే, ఆయన ప్రయాణించే రోడ్లకు రెండు వైపులా గుంజలు పాతి, పరదాలు కట్టేసి, చెట్లను నరికేసి దుకాణాలను మూయించి నానా బీభత్సం సృష్టించి.. దొరవారిని అధికారులు తీసుకువెళ్లేవారు. ప్రజలు అందరూ తనకు శత్రువులు అన్నట్టుగా వారికి దూరంగా మెలగడమే తన జీవితం అన్నట్లుగా పరిపాలన హయాంలో జగన్ తీరు కనిపించింది. అప్పుడప్పుడు ప్రజలతో ఇంటరాక్ట్ అయ్యే కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహించేవారు. అవి పూర్తిగా ఎంపిక చేసిన వ్యక్తులను మాత్రమే అనుమతించే కార్యక్రమాలు. ఐప్యాక్ దళాలు తీసుకువచ్చిన వారిని, ముందే శిక్షణ పొందిన వారిని ఆ సమావేశాలలో కూర్చోబెట్టి.. జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డిని కీర్తించడానికి పరిమితం చేసేవారు తప్ప, వాస్తవంగా ప్రజల సమస్యలను స్వయంగా తెలుసుకునే ఏ కార్యక్రమమూ ఐదేళ్ల పరిపాలన కాలంలో జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి చేయలేదు. అందుకే ఇవాళ చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు తీరును గమనించిన వారు గత ఐదేళ్లలో ఇలాంటి దృశ్యాన్ని ఒక్కసారైనా చూసామా అని ఆశ్చర్యపోతున్నారు.

ఉండవల్లి నుంచి చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు కాన్వాయ్ బయలుదేరిన తర్వాత రోడ్డు పక్కగా ఆగి ఉన్న ప్రజలు గొంతే పిలవగానే చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు కాన్వాయ్ ను ఆపు చేయించారు. కారు దిగి అక్కడ నిల్చుని ఉన్నవారి నుంచి వినతి పత్రాలను స్వీకరించారు. వారికి ధైర్యం చెప్పారు. స్వయంగా సీఎం తమను చూసి కారు ఆపి దిగి వినతి పత్రాలు స్వీకరించడం మాత్రమే కాకుండా, భరోసా ఇవ్వడంతో వారు సంతోషం వ్యక్తం చేయడం గమనార్హం! ఇలా రోడ్డు పక్కన వేచి ఉన్న వారిలో అరకులోయ మాజీ ఎమ్మెల్యే శివేరి సోమ భార్య ఇచ్ఛావతి కూడా ఉన్నారు. తెలుగుదేశం ఎమ్మెల్యే శివేరి సోమను గతంలో నక్సలైట్లు కాల్చి చంపారు. తమ కుటుంబాన్ని ఆదుకోవాలని తమ కుమారుడి విద్యాభ్యాసానికి ప్రభుత్వం సాయం చేయాలని ఆమె కోరారు. సోమ కొడుకు చదువు బాధ్యత పూర్తిగా తాము తీసుకుంటామని చంద్రబాబు వారికి హామీ ఇచ్చి ధైర్యం చెప్పి పంపారు.

ఇలా అసలు రోడ్డు పక్కన ప్రజలు నాయకుడి కోసం వేచి ఉంటే వారిని చూసి.. వాహన శ్రేణిని ఆపి, వారి నుంచి వినతి పత్రాలు స్వీకరించి, ధైర్యం చెప్పే అలవాటు గత ఐదేళ్లలో జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి మాత్రమే కాదు- ఏ మంత్రి అయినా చేశారా అనేది ఇప్పుడు ప్రజలలో చర్చనీయాంశంగా ఉంది. కొత్త ప్రభుత్వం ఏర్పడిన తర్వాత ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ కూడా ఇదే తరహాలో రోడ్డు పక్కన తనకోసం నిల్చుని ఉన్న వారి నుంచి కాన్వాయ్ ఆపి వినతి పత్రాల స్వీకరించిన సందర్భాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఇప్పుడు ముఖ్యమంత్రి చంద్రబాబునాయుడు కూడా అదే పని చేస్తున్నారు. వీరు నిజంగా ప్రజల కోసం పనిచేసే నాయకులుగా గుర్తింపు తెచ్చుకుంటున్నారని, జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి అరాచక పాలన వలన ప్రజలు వీరిని మరింతగా ఆదరిస్తున్నారని విశ్లేషకులు భావిస్తున్నారు.

‘నా ఎస్సీ, నా బీసీ, నా మైనారిటీ..’ అంటూ బహిరంగ వేదికల మీద గొంతు చించుకుని అరుస్తూ ఉండే జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి.. ఎప్పుడైనా ‘నా మత్స్యకార సోదరులు..’ అంటూ అరిచారో లేదో పాత వీడియోలు చూస్తే తెలుస్తుంది. ఏ రోటికాడ ఆ  పాట పాడే.. ఏ ఇంటికాడ వారిని తమ్ముళ్లుగా చెప్పుకునే జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి మత్స్యకార ప్రాబల్యం ఉన్న ప్రాంతాల్లో అలాంటి పడికట్టు డైలాగులు అనే ఉంటారు. కానీ వాస్తవంలో మత్స్యకారుల పొట్టకొట్టేలా.. చేపలు పట్టుకునే వారి హక్కులను కొల్లగొట్టి, బడాబాబులు కార్పొరేట్ వ్యాపారుల పరం చేసేలా జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి సర్కారు గతంలో కుట్ర పూరితంగా తెచ్చిన రెండు జీవోలను మంత్రి అచ్చెన్నాయుడు రద్దు చేశారు. శుక్రవారం నాడు మంత్రిగా బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించిన అచ్చెన్న.. జగన్ సర్కారు తెచ్చిన 144, 217 జీవోలను రద్దు చేస్తున్నట్లుగా ప్రకటించారు. ఆ రకంగా రాష్ట్రంలోని మత్స్యకారులకు తీపి మిఠాయి లాంటి శుభవార్త చెప్పారు.

గతంలో జనసేనాని పవన్ కల్యాణ్ ఈ జీవోలకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పెద్ద పోరాటమే చేశారు. నరసాపురంలో సభ నిర్వహించి.. జీవోనెం.217 ప్రతులను ఆయన చించిపారేశారు. మత్స్యకారుల పొట్టకొట్టేందుకే జగన్ అవి తీసుకువచ్చారని విమర్శించారు. ఆ జీవో ప్రకారం.. మత్స్యకారులు పెద్దపెద్ద చేపల చెరువుల్లో చేపలు పట్టే అధికారం కోల్పోతారు. ఆ హక్కును ప్రభుత్వం వేలం వేసేస్తుంది. బడా వ్యాపారులు చొరబడి గద్దల్లా తన్నుకు పోతారన్నమాట.

కేవలం తీర ప్రాంతాల్లో ఉండే చిన్న చేపల చెరువులు మాత్రమే మత్స్యకారులకు దక్కుతాయి. 100 హెక్టార్లకంటె పెద్ద చేపల చెరువులన్నీ బడా వ్యాపారుల పరం అవుతాయి. అయితే ఆయా వర్గాల నుంచి ఎన్ని నిరసనలు వెల్లువెత్తినప్పటికీ.. ఈ జీవో వల్ల వారికి లాభమే తప్ప నష్టం లేదంటూ ప్రభుత్వం బుకాయిస్తూ వచ్చింది. నెల్లూరు జిల్లాలో పైలట్ ప్రాజెక్టుగా 27 రిజర్వాయర్లను వేలం వేసి.. మత్స్యకారుల పొట్ట కొట్టారు. ఎన్ని పోరాటాలు జరిగినా వృథా అయ్యాయి.
