Usha Chilukuri Is Grand Daughter Of AU Professor Santhamma!

The name of Usha Chilukuri, is suddenly being mentioned after JD Vance was chosen as the vice presidential candidate for the Republican Party in the US presidential election. Usha has relatives in Visakhapatnam.

She is the daughter of Chilukuri Santhamma, former professor of Andhra University and presently at the age of 96 also teaching and guiding research scholars in Visakhapatnam.  Shanthamma’s husband is Chilukuri Subrahmanya Shastri was also Professor at Andhra University.

He was active in RSS and was its Khestra Sanghachalak, for the southern states and also member of All India Executive. But, he passed away a few years ago. Subrahmanya Shastri’s brother was Rama Shastri. Usha is the daughter of Rama Sastri’s son Radhakrishna

Radhakrishna did Aeronautical Engineering. Works at University of San Diego in the USA. He is married to Lakshmi from Pamaru of Krishna district. Their offspring is Usha. Shanthamma expressed happiness over the selection of Usha’s husband JD Vance as the US Vice President candidate.

As Usha’s parents had settled long back in America, she was born and brought up there, so there was little contact with her, said Santhamma. After learning about Vance’s candidacy and their kinship, many people expressed their congratulations over the phone to Santhamma.

She said that Usha’s maternal aunty Sharada, who is a doctor in Chennai, remembers attending the wedding of Vance and Usha. Santhamma felt happy and proud to know that the Usha couple had reached this level.


Expressing confidence of Vance winning in US elections, she said irrespective of the poll results always her blessings with the family of Usha. However, she felt that she would be more happy if they reached such a stage residing in India.

After elections are over, she said she will invite Usha and her husband to Visakhapatnam. Expressing an increase in religious conversions in recent times, she said that she  would send a message to Usha to take care of Hindus and protect Hindu Dharma in the USA.

Until last year, 96-year-old Professor Santhamma used to travel from Visakhapatnam to teach at Centurion University in Vizianagaram. Currently she is guiding research students in Visakhapatnam.

మా రాష్ట్రంలో ఉండే పరిశ్రమలు, కంపెనీలు మా రాష్ట్ర వారికి మాత్రమే ఉద్యోగాలు ఇవ్వాలి .. అని ఏ రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వమైనా వాదిస్తే ఎలా ఉంటుంది? చాలా అసంబద్ధంగా అనిపిస్తుంది కదా.? ఇప్పుడు అదే పరిస్థితి కర్ణాటకలో ఏర్పడింది. కర్ణాటకలోని కంపెనీల్లో గ్రూపు సి, డి లకు చెందిన ఉద్యోగాలు నూటికి నూరుశాతం కన్నడిగులకే మాత్రమే కేటాయించాలంటూ.. సీఎం సిద్ధరామయ్య ట్వీట్ చేసి ఒక వివాదానికి తెరలేపారు. దీని మీద చాలా రాద్ధాంతమే జరిగింది. ఆ తరువాత సిద్ధరామయ్య కాస్త వెనక్కు తగ్గి మేనేజిమెంట్ ఉద్యోగాల్లో 50 శాతం, నాన్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ కోటాలో 75 శాతం ఉద్యోగాలు ఇవ్వాలంటూ కేబినెట్ తీర్మానం కూడా చేశారు. ఈ ప్రతిపాదన మీద కూడా పెద్దస్థాయిలో దుమారం రేగింది. రాష్ట్రంలోని యువతరానికి మేలు చేయాలని అనుకోవడం కరక్టే గానీ.. అది చేయాల్సింది ఇలాంటి నిబంధనల ద్వారా కాదని విమర్శలు వెల్లువెత్తాయి. కేబినెట్ నిర్ణయం జరిగినప్పటికీ.. బిల్లును ప్రస్తుతానికి శాసనసభలో పెట్టకుండా ఆగాలని ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించుకుంది.
కాగా, సిద్ధరామయ్య నిర్ణయం పట్ల సర్వత్రా విమర్శలు వస్తున్నాయి. ఇది పూర్తిగా అసంబద్ధమైన నిర్ణయం అంటున్నారు. దానికి బదులుగా.. మా రాష్ట్రంలో మా రాష్ట్రానికి చెందిన వారు మాత్రమే పరిశ్రమలు పెట్టాలి, కంపెనీలు పెట్టాలి.. అనే నిబంధన సిద్ధరామయ్య తేవచ్చు కదా అంటున్నారు. అలా చెబితే.. ఆ రాష్ట్రం ఆర్థికంగా ఎంత సర్వనాశనం అయిపోతుందో.. ఉద్యోగాల విషయంలో కూడా అదే జరుగుతుందని అంటున్నారు. కావలిస్తే.. ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించిన శాతాల మేరకు ఉద్యోగాల కల్పన చేసే కంపెనీలకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం కొన్ని రాయితీలు ప్రకటించవచ్చునని.. తద్వారా రాష్ట్ర యువతరానికి మేలు జరుగుతుందని కూడా విశ్లేషకులు భావిస్తున్నారు.

ఇదిలా ఉండగా.. కర్ణాటకలో సిద్ధరామయ్య నిర్ణయం కారణంగా జరుగుతున్న చర్చ, ఏర్పడిన అనిశ్చితి వల్ల ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రానికి మేలు జరగబోతోంది. ఇప్పటికే విశాఖకు వచ్చి సాఫ్ట్ వేర్ కంపెనీలు పెట్టాలని లోకేష్ నాస్కామ్ ను ఆహ్వానించారు. కర్ణాటకనుంచి ఏపీకి రీలొకేట్ కావాలని ఆయన అభ్యర్థిస్తున్నారు. ఈ పరిణామాలను ఏపీలో పారిశ్రామిక పురోగతికి అనుకూలంగా వాడుకోవాలని లోకేష్ ప్రయత్నిస్తుండడం విశేషం.

While Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is going ahead with fulfilling his loan waiver promise to farmers in three phases, starting from Thursday, BRS Executive President and former minister KT Rama Rao blamed the chief minister for cheating farmers by diverting Rythu Bandhu funds for it.

He lamented that the Congress government is allegedly taking farmers for a ride in the guise of implementing the crop loan waive, he pointed out the government is maintaining a strategic silence on the Rythu Bandhu assistance to be extended to farmers this season.

Under Rythu Bandhu, he mentioned that the Congress government had to extend Rs.7000 crore assistance to farmers in June but these funds have been diverted for implementation of the crop loan waiver.

Over 40 lakh farmers had secured loans upto Rs.1 lakh but the government was waiving off the loans of only 11 lakh farmers. More so, the crop loan waiver being done by the Congress government was meager compared to the waiver done under the KCR government in 2014 and 2018, he added.

KTR pointed out that in 2014, the KCR government had waived off Rs 1 lakh loans secured by 35 lakh farmers by spending about Rs 16,144 crore.  Again in 2018, loans of 37 lakh farmers were waived off by spending about Rs.19,198 crore.

KTR demanded that as per its election manifesto,  the Congress government should waive off all the loans upto Rs.2 lakh. Apart from this, all eligible farmers should be extended Rythu Bandhu assistance immediately.

Meanwhile, former Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy wondered  how the Congress government claimed a waiver of loans with Rs.6800 crore for just 11.5 lakh farmers.

He asserted that the government should disclose the details of farmers, who secured loans upto Rs.1 lakh and those, who had obtained Rs.2 lakh loans. Further, the BRS leader said that the government should also announce the total amount required for waiving off Rs.2 lakh loans.

Humiliating defeat of BJP in the recent Lok Sabha polls in the largest state Uttar Pradesh remained a `black spot’ for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity. Though the party succeeded most of MP seats during 2014 and 2019, it fared very badly. While SP and Congress combine had won in 43 of 80 seats, BJP was confined to 36 seats.

The task force of 40 BJP UP members has come up with predictable reasons for the party’s setback. Mainly it pointed out the sidelining of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in party and government affairs and attempt to sway with PM Modi’s popularity only cost the party extensively.

Party insiders admit that the genesis of the UP defeat needs more introspection. The investigation should have started with the BJP’s central election committee meeting on February 29, when the names of some 50 of the 80 UP seats were cleared. The committee members, including Adityanath, waited for over two hours since PM Modi, Amit Shah and J P Nadda first met informally at Lok Kalyan Marg, where a short list of 50 BJP Lok Sabha candidates was drawn up.

At the official meeting, general secretary (organisation) B L  Santhosh read out the names and few interjected. The names from UP were cleared in barely 20 minutes and some 65% were sitting MPs, since the party seemed confident that UP’s formidable ‘double engine ki sarkar’ would ensure their victory.

Adityanath’s reported suggestion to change the names of 35 sitting MPs was ignored. Eventually, 27 BJP incumbents lost the polls. Incidentally, the BJP won all the Lok Sabha seats around Gorakhpur, Adityanath’s stronghold but lost in parliamentary seats around Varanasi, the PM’s constituency.

If they had travelled to Varanasi, they would have discovered the considerable resentment over contracts for major projects in and around the city being awarded not to local UP contractors, but to those from western India. 

Though Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya remained mostly in Delhi after the election results, lobbying for chief minister post replacing Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister seems to be now trying to assert himself.

He convened a meeting with his cabinet ministers in Lucknow on Wednesday and was given specific tasks keeping in view of bypolls for 10 assembly seats. Incidentally, the Election Commission delayed in announcing the schedule for these polls.

Union Minister and BJP State President G Kishan Reddy’s comment on poaching of MLAs in Telangana in his official X handle has evoked a verbal war between BJP and BRS. With a caption `Presenting you the MLA Poach Story of Telangana’, Kishan Reddy said that earlier the “seller” was the Congress and the “buyer” was the BRS. He added a picture of 12 Congress MLAs joining the BRS, five years ago.

This was followed with a recent picture of a news report on BRS MLAs now joining the Congress in a role reversal of sorts. It may be recalled that as many as 10 BRS MLAs joined Congress. He attempted to take a potshot on `X’ at Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over the defection of MLAs in the state by shooting off the BRS’s shoulder.

Kishan Reddy also addressed Rahul Gandhi in the post, saying “Mr. Rahul Gandhi, your promises can’t gloss over this blatant political opportunism! The people of Bharat are watching.” Kishan Reddy’s posting has triggered a stinging response from the BRS.

When Kishan Reddy tried to score over the Congress using the BRS, the BRS strongly hit back from its official X handle with an even more stinging post exposing how the BJP was the original `poaching master’.

Stating that “Hypocrisy ki bhi seema hoti hain!” (Hypocrisy too has limits), the BRS pointed  out that for over the last decade that the BJP has ruled this country, it was always able to break Congress governments across the country.

“Your undemocratic ways have continued over the years because of the inept opposition that the Congress is,” it said in the post, which had caricatures resembling Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi and dubbing them the ‘Forever Seller’ and “Forever Buyer”.

The accompanying picture pointed out how the BJP had toppled State governments by poaching MLAs in Uttarakhand in 2016, in Manipur and Goa in 2017, in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Arunachal Pradesh in 2019, and in Puducherry in 2021. The post was titled ‘The OG Poach Story across India’.

వైయస్ జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా ఉండగా కేవలం విధ్వంసం మాత్రమే తన సూత్రంగా పరిపాలన సాగించారని అందరూ విమర్శిస్తూ ఉంటారు. ప్రత్యేకించి అమరావతి రాజధానికి విధ్వంసం అంటే ఏమిటో జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి రుచి చూపించారని కూడా అంటూ ఉంటారు. అమరావతిలో చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు నిర్మించిన ప్రజావేదికను కూలగొట్టడం ద్వారా తన మొదటి విధ్వంసక క్రీడకు తెరలేపిన జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి రాజధాని ప్రాంతంలో ఒక్క ఇటుక పెట్టి పని చేసిన పాపాన పోలేదు. 70 శాతం పూర్తయిన నిర్మాణాలను కూడా అలాగే వదిలేసి అమరావతి ప్రాంతాన్ని ఒక స్మశానం లాగా రూపుదిద్దారు. అయితే ఇలాంటి విధ్వంసక పోకడలకు భిన్నంగా జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి అమరావతిలో చేపట్టిన  నిర్మాణం ఒకే ఒక్కటి ఉంది. పాపం జగన్ లేక లేక అమరావతిలో ఒకే ఒక్క నిర్మాణం చేపడితే చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు అధికారంలోకి రాగానే ఆ ఒక్క నిర్మాణాన్ని కూడా కూలగొట్టారు. ఇంతకూ అదేమిటబ్బా అనుకుంటున్నారు కదా! వివరాల్లోకి వెళదాం…

జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి అధికారంలోకి రాగానే మూడు రాజధానులు కాన్సెప్ట్ తెచ్చి అమరావతిని సర్వనాశనం చేయడానికి తన వంతు ప్రయత్నం ప్రారంభించారు. ఆయన దుర్మార్గపు పోకడలకు నిరసనగా అమరావతి రాజధాని నిర్మాణాలకు తమ భూములు ఇచ్చిన రైతులు ఉద్యమాలు కూడా ప్రారంభించారు. అయితే రైతులు తమ పోరాటాలలో భాగంగా తమ నిరసనను, అసంతృప్తిని తెలియజేసేందుకు అసెంబ్లీకి రావడం కూడా జరిగింది. ఆగ్రహించిన జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి అసెంబ్లీ వద్దకు అమరావతి రైతులు రాకుండా ఉండేందుకు శాసనసభకు ఉన్న రెండో ద్వారాన్ని మూసివేయించారు. దానికి అడ్డుగా ఒక బలమైన గోడను కూడా నిర్మించారు. అమరావతి ప్రాంతంలో జగన్ చేపట్టిన నిర్మాణం అదొక్కటే. ప్రజలు వారి సమస్యలను బాధలను చెప్పుకోవడానికి అనుమతించకుండా వారిని అసలు దగ్గరికే రానివ్వకుండా చేసిన దుర్మార్గపు ప్రయత్నం ఈ గోడ. దీనితో అసెంబ్లీ ద్వారాన్ని పూర్తిగా మూత వేయించారు.

స్పీకర్ అయ్యన్నపాత్రుడు తాజాగా తన ఆదేశాలతో ఆ గోడను కూలగొట్టించి అసెంబ్లీ రెండో గేటును కూడా తెరిపించారు. ‘‘ప్రజలు వారి సమస్యలు చెప్పుకునే అవకాశం కల్పించడం ప్రభుత్వ కనీస బాధ్యత. ప్రజాస్వామ్య నిలయమైన శాసనసభ గేట్లు ప్రజలకు ఎప్పుడూ తెరిచే ఉండాలి. రాష్ట్రంలో ఇప్పుడున్నది ప్రజాస్వామ్య ప్రభుత్వం. ప్రజలకు అందుబాటులో ఉండే ప్రభుత్వం. ఇది ప్రజల అసెంబ్లీ’’ అని ఈ సందర్భంగా అయ్యన్నపాత్రుడు వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.

జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి పరిపాలన సాగించిన అయిదేళ్లలో అయినవారికి విచ్చలవిడిగా దోచిపెట్టారనే సంగతి ప్రజలందరూ కూడా గుర్తించారు. కాబట్టే.. 151 సీట్లు గెలిచిన పార్టీ ఐదేళ్లలో 11కు పడిపోయింది. ప్రజలు అంతగా ఛీ కొట్టారు. దోచిపెట్టిన సంగతి తెలుసుగానీ.. ఏ స్థాయిలో.. ఎంత అరాచకంగా అనేది ప్రజలకు తెలియదు. ఇప్పుడు కొత్త ప్రభుత్వం గద్దె ఎక్కిన తర్వాత ఆ వివరాలు కూడా ఒక్కటొక్కటిగా బయటకు వస్తున్నాయి. పేదలకు ఇళ్లు నిర్మించి ఇచ్చే ముసుగులో.. సొంత పార్టీకి చెందిన కాంట్రాక్టర్లకు పనులేమీ చేయకుండానే విచ్చలవిడిగా బిల్లులు విడుదల చేసేసిన వైనం ఇప్పుడు వెలుగులోకి వస్తోంది.

ఒక్క తిరుపతి జిల్లాలోనే లెక్క తీస్తే.. కేవలం ఈ పక్కాఇళ్ల కాంట్రాక్టర్లకు ఇప్పటికే వంద కోట్ల రూపాయలకు పైగా దోచిపెట్టినట్టు తేలుతోంది. ఇక రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా అన్ని జిల్లాల్లో లెక్కతీస్తే ఈ అవినీతి వ్యవహారం ఎన్ని వేల కోట్లకు చేరుకుంటుందో కదా అని ప్రజలు విస్తుపోతున్నారు.

పేదలకు పక్కాఇళ్లు అనే మాయమాట చెప్పిన జగన్.. వారికి మూడు ఆప్షన్లు ఇచ్చారు. ప్రభుత్వం బిల్డింగ్ మెటీరియల్ సప్లయి చేస్తుంది.. నిర్మాణ ఖర్చులు వారే భరించాలి. రెండో ఆప్షన్లో మెటీరియల్ కూడా ప్రజలు కొనుక్కుని బిల్లులు పెట్టవచ్చు. మూడో ఆప్షన్ లో తమకు శక్తి లేదని చేతులెత్తేస్తే ఇల్లు మొత్తం ప్రభుత్వమే కట్టి ఇస్తుంది.

కాగా, ఒక్క తిరుపతి జిల్లాలోనే ఈ మూడో ఆప్షన్ కింద ఇళ్లు నిర్మించుకోవడానికి 21,648 ఇళ్లు మంజూరయ్యాయి. వీటిని వైసీపీకి చెందిన నాయకులకే కాంట్రాక్టులు అప్పగించారు. ఈ ఇళ్లు మొత్తం పూర్తయితే 389.68 కోట్ల రూపాయలు బిల్లులు చెల్లించాల్సి వస్తుంది. ఇంతవరకు బాగానే ఉంది. కాంట్రాక్టర్లు ఇప్పటిదాకా కేవలం 2151 ఇళ్లను మాత్రమే పూర్తిచేశారు.  కానీ ఇప్పటికే 354.54 కోట్ల రూపాయల బిల్లులు వారికి విడుదల అయిపోయాయి. ఆ మాత్రం డబ్బులు విడుదలయ్యాక నిర్మాణాలన్నీ పూర్తయి ఉండాలి. కానీ.. బేస్ మెంట్ మాత్రం పడి, అంతకంటె తక్కువ నిర్మాణం మాత్రమే జరిగిన ఇళ్లు 10,746 ఉన్నాయి. అంటే ‘ఇది ఇల్లు’ అనే ఆకారం కూడా ఏర్పడకముందే.. పూర్తి బిల్లులు చెల్లించేసిన ఘోరాలు చాలా ఉన్నాయన్నమాట. ఇలా దాదాపు వందకోట్లరూపాయలకు పైగా సొంత పార్టీ కాంట్రాక్టర్లకు నజరానా సమర్పించేసుకున్నారు.

ఎన్నికల్లో విచ్చలవిడిగా ఖర్చు పెట్టడంకోసమే కాంట్రాక్టర్లకు ముందుగా బిల్లులు చెల్లించినట్టుగా ఆరోపణలు వినిపిస్తున్నాయి. జగనన్న ఇళ్ల నిర్మాణంలో ఘోరాలను తవ్వి వెలికితీస్తే చాలా మంది పెద్దతలకాయలు కటకటాల వెనక్కు పోవాల్సి వస్తుందని ప్రజలు భావిస్తున్నారు.
