It is usual for the alliance parties to share seats to be contested and positions of power in the government with a mutually agreed formula among themselves. In Andhra Pradesh also TDP, Jana Sena and BJP have shared seats to be contested most amicably during elections and later shared ministerial berths.

Even after by-elections were held for two MLCs, both TDP and Jana Sena shared. Even they shared candidates during elections. At least one third of Jana Sena candidates were `imported’ from TDP. In the same way, few BJP candidates were also imported.

Ironically, now after coming to power when several YCP leaders are expressing interest to join the ruling party, the coalition parties also seem to be sharing defectors in a respectable way. This was reflected in the defection of YCP Municipal Corporators in Visakhapatnam recently.

Presently, Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Corporation (GVMC)  Mayor seat is in the hands of YCP. The latest developments make it clear that the ruling party has moved its steps to secure the most important seat of Visakhapatnam Mayor. But what is strange here is that out of the 12 corporators who switched parties from YCP, seven have joined the TDP and five others have joined the Jana Sena.

This has revealed that the allied parties have decided to share defectors also with perfect understanding. Political observers are of the view that TDP is moving with regard to alliance parties. To avoid any future problems from Jana Sena, it has been making moves cautiously.

At the state level also several former ministers and former MPs and former MLAs from YCP are also keen on joining the ruling party. Many of them were already said to be in constant touch with TDP and Jana Sena leaders also. However, ruling party leaders are adopting the `wait and watch’ policy.

As already TDP is facing problems in accommodating its large number of MLAs and also senior leaders who were denied party seats in the recent polls, fearing admitting YCP leaders into the party may create internal conflicts. In such cases, TDP is likely to advise such leaders to join Jana Sena or BJP, so as to weaken YCP.

According to sources, already former ministers Vidadala Rajini, Usha Sri Charan, Kottu Satyanarayana and Karumuri Nageswara Rao are showing interest in joining Jana Sena. Some other leaders are said to be in touch with BJP leaders.

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has reportedly advised his party leaders that new leaders from YCP will be admitted into the party only after present leaders are accommodated in nominated posts, which are likely to be filled soon.

In the same way, BJP leaders met minister Nara Lokesh and brought to his notice that several YCP leaders were seeking to join their party. However, Lokesh advised them to wait some time and may make a decision soon.

It seems TDP, Jana Sena and BJP leaders have decided to admit YCP leaders into their respective parties only after getting clearance from other alliance partners.
