GHMC Commissioner Clarifies GIS Survey Misconceptions

GHMC Commissioner Amrapali has addressed public concerns surrounding the ongoing GIS survey, stressing that the initiative is crucial for the city’s future development. She clarified that all survey data is securely stored on the Central Government’s Railway Department server, ensuring there is no risk of information theft or misuse.

The GIS survey, which commenced two weeks ago, includes building enumeration, property tax reassessment, and digital house numbering. While survey staff have been collecting documents and other details from property owners, which has sparked some criticism, Commissioner Amrapali reassured citizens on Thursday that the process is both secure and necessary.

Amrapali explained that the survey aims to create a comprehensive digital map of every street, road, and colony in the city. She assured citizens that any errors in the recorded data can be corrected by the residents themselves. Importantly, she emphasized that all collected information will remain confidential between GHMC and the citizens, with no third-party access.

The survey will cover properties across all areas, without distinction between the old city and the new city, and is expected to be completed within six months. The Commissioner affirmed that the survey will be expedited for the overall benefit of the city.

Key details required for the survey include the property’s PTIN, area, and whether it is used for commercial or residential purposes. Additionally, the survey is gathering information on greenery within construction sites, electricity facilities, solar panels, septic tanks, elevators, and the width of roads in front of properties, all of which will contribute to future urban development planning.

Review :

The movie is elevated by a talented ensemble cast, with seasoned actors Sai Kumar, Goparaju Ramana, and Balagam Jayaram offering memorable performances. Sai Kumar especially stands out, commanding the screen with his distinctive mannerisms, lively antics, and powerful dialogue delivery. In contrast, Goparaju Ramana impresses with a subtle yet effective portrayal.

The newcomers make a strong impact, infusing the film with fresh energy and showcasing their abilities. Sandeep Saroj, Yashwanth Pendyala, Eshwar Rachiraju, Trinadh Varma, Prasad Behara, Manikanta Parasu, Lokesh Kumar Parimi, Shyam Kalyan, Raghuvaran, Shiva Kumar Matta, Akshay Srinivas, Raadhya, Tejaswi Rao, Teena Sravya, Vishika, and Shanmukhi Nagumantri bring a lively, youthful spirit to their roles. Their performances are authentic and engaging, marked by natural dialogue delivery and convincing mannerisms.

Directed by Yadhu Vamsi, Committee Kurrollu delves into the intricate fabric of village life, where misunderstandings can have profound effects and powerful individuals significantly influence the political landscape. While the storyline may be somewhat predictable, Vamsi’s expert handling of emotional and comedic elements ensures a captivating and entertaining first half. The dramatic twist at the interval sets up a compelling second act with a strong sense of anticipation.

Vamsi skillfully captures the youthful essence of the narrative, portraying college experiences, budding romances, and childhood bonds with authentic charm and realism. However, the second half delves into more emotional territory, resulting in a somewhat conventional plot. Despite this, the film delivers a significant message through a moving pre-climax scene featuring Niharika Konidela, highlighting the importance of doing good regardless of one’s power or position.

Unfortunately, the climax feels hurried and abrupt, resulting in a sense of unresolved closure. Despite this, the dialogue remains compelling and keeps the audience engaged from start to finish.

Raju Edurolu’s cinematography is a standout feature, artfully showcasing the scenic beauty of the village and the Godavari River with captivating imagery.Anudeep Dev’s music enriches the experience with soulful and contextually appropriate tracks that blend seamlessly with the film. The production values are impressive, enhancing the overall visual appeal.

In summary, Committee Kurrollu offers an intriguing portrayal of village life, excelling in the first half with its engaging blend of humor and emotion. Although the second half loses some momentum, the film impresses with its stunning visuals, impactful dialogue, and meaningful message. Despite its imperfections, it represents a promising debut from Yadhu Vamsi and his team, showcasing their talent and vision.

Overall,Committee Kurrollu is a worthwhile youthful entertainer that carries a meaningful message. It serves as a promising debut for both its cast and director Yadhu Vamsi. While the storyline explores familiar themes, Vamsi adeptly blends youthful friendships, romance, and humor against the backdrop of rural politics and the Jathara festival. This mix, along with a nostalgic touch, provides an engaging viewing experience.

Though there are a few minor flaws, the film showcases the potential of both the actors and the director. With continued growth and refinement, the team is poised to achieve even greater accomplishments.

Cornered Jagan moves closer to INDIA bloc

Though the YSR Congress party was not a part of the NDA from 2019 to 2024, the then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had to toe the line of the central government on various issues due to several reasons. Jagan extended complete support to the BJP in all aspects and made sure that he was in the good books of Modi and Shah. But the scenario has now completely changed as the political dynamics are not the same anymore. This is because of the BJP’s pre-poll alliance with the TDP and Janasena parties in the state.

After facing a huge setback in the recent assembly elections and with TDP being an ally of the NDA at the centre, Jagan Mohan Reddy finds himself alienated because he can no longer maintain cordial ties with the BJP which retained power again. Hence, he has got only one alternative. That is to join hands with the INDIA bloc led by Congress and many other parties. Jagan feels that this is only way he can stay relevant in national politics without power.

The pendulum seems to be slowly shifting because Jagan is inching closer to the INDIA bloc day by day. If we look at the recent developments, there is a clear message from YSRCP that it will no longer support the Bharatiya Janata Party on crucial issues and if possible, it will incline towards the coalition bloc.

Yesterday, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s MPs expressed dissent on the ammendments proposed to the contentious Waqf bill tabled in the parliament by the NDA. Even in Rajyasabha, YSRCP representatives are going to oppose the bill. This has become a talking point in political circles because it clearly hints that Jagan is keen on extending support to the INDIA bloc.

Last month, when Jagan staged a protest in Delhi against law and order issues in Andhra Pradesh, he garnered support from INDIA bloc parties. Jagan gleefully embraced national leaders like Akhilesh Yadav and requested all other support his protest.

From the past few days, there have been numerous speculations that it won’t be of much surprise if Jagan and his party becomes a part of the bloc and fight against the BJP government at the centre.

Though it is not yet known what is in Jagan’s mind, one thing is very clear that he wants to keep distance with the BJP and step closer towards the bloc.

India’s Neeraj Chopra fell short of retaining his gold medal at the Paris Olympics, securing silver in the men’s javelin throw final. Chopra’s best throw was 89.45 meters, achieved in his second attempt. Despite high expectations following his gold medal win at the Tokyo Olympics, Chopra fouled five of his six attempts, leaving him unable to surpass the 90-meter mark. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem clinched gold with a record-setting throw of 92.97 meters, while Grenada’s Anderson Peters won bronze with 88.54 meters.

This achievement places him among elite Indian athletes who have won multiple Olympic medals, including PV Sindhu, Manu Bhaker, and Sushil Kumar. Nadeem’s victory also represents Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal in athletics, making the competition a significant milestone for both nations.

Supreme Court to Deliver Verdict on Manish Sisodia’s Bail Plea

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is set to deliver its verdict on Friday regarding the bail plea of senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, who has been in custody for nearly a year and a half. Sisodia was arrested in February 2023 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case and has faced multiple extensions of his judicial custody. He is currently facing charges from both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

On May 21, the Delhi High Court denied Sisodia bail, citing concerns that he might misuse his position and potentially influence evidence and witnesses if released. The Supreme Court, which heard Sisodia’s appeal on August 6, has reserved its decision and inquired about the expected timeline for the trial’s conclusion. During the June 4 hearing, the ED informed the court that it planned to file a final chargesheet by July 3.

YS Sharmila Criticizes Government Negligence in Seed Distribution to Farmers

AP Congress President Y.S. Sharmila criticized the negligence of the Agriculture Department, stating that while farmers were initially happy about the arrival of irrigation water under the Nagarjuna Sagar Right Canal, the government’s carelessness has become a curse for 400,000 farmers. She accused the coalition government of failing to make seeds of high-demand crops available to farmers. Sharmila expressed her concern that the government’s actions are completely dashing the hopes of farmers, who were optimistic about moving from crop holidays to cultivating fallow lands.

“What is the point of deploying police to guard and issue tokens? Why are counters being closed after distributing tokens to just a few? Why are farmers being pressured to buy seed varieties favoured by the government instead of what they asked for? How can you leave women standing in the rain for seeds? Are you just going to watch while there’s a stampede?” Sharmila questioned the government’s actions.

She further demanded that within 48 hours, 15,000 quintals of JGL-384 seed variety be made available to farmers. She also insisted that this seed variety be included in the subsidy list and called on the coalition government to put an end to the black market activities, on behalf of the Congress Party.

Pawan Kalyan criticizes heroes’ smuggler roles in films

Bengaluru: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, currently visiting Karnataka, expressed his concerns over the evolving roles of heroes in films. Reflecting on the shift in cinematic culture, Pawan remarked, “Forty years ago, a hero would protect forests, but now he is depicted as cutting down trees and smuggling them. This change in culture is troubling.” He further added that, as someone from the film industry, he would find it challenging to participate in such films.

During his visit to Karnataka on Thursday, Pawan Kalyan met with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Their discussions primarily focused on wildlife and forest conservation, particularly on measures to curb red sandalwood smuggling.

Additionally, the issue of elephants damaging farmers’ fields was reportedly on the agenda. Pawan Kalyan also requested Karnataka to hand over six trained kunki elephants to Andhra Pradesh to assist in managing these challenges.
