Tulasi Reddy cautions CM Chandrababu Not To Fall Into Telangana Trap on Bankacharla project

APCC state spokesperson Dr N. Tulasi Reddy has cautioned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu that he should not fall into the Telangana trap in the upcoming meeting under the auspices of Union Water Resources Minister CR Patil in Delhi on the Banakacharla project.

He said that there is a lot of surplus water in Godavari, and Chandrababu’s suggestion to the Telangana government that we should use some of it and you should use some is a lack of understanding. He said that this will cause serious losses to the downstream state of Andhra Pradesh in the future.

The former MP said that based on 75 percent reliability, there will be 3,000 TMC of net water in the Godavari river. He said that the Bachawat Tribunal has come to a conclusion with 889 TMCs have been allocated to Maharashtra, 20 TMCs to Karnataka, 625 TMCs to Chhattisgarh, 293 TMCs to Orissa, and 1480 TMCs including regenerated water have been allocated to the united Andhra Pradesh.

He said that out of the 1480 TMCs allocated to the united Andhra Pradesh, 710 TMCs have been allocated to Telangana projects and 770 TMCs to AP projects. He said that the Telangana projects include Singur, Nizam Sagar, Sriram Sagar, Kadem, Midmanar, Yellampalli, Sundella, Annaram, Thummidihat, Kaleshwaram, Tupakula Gudem, Sitarama, and Ichchampally projects.

Dr Tulasi Reddy said that the AP projects include Polavaram, Godavari Delta, Kovvada Canal, Chagalanadu, Ramavaram, Bhupathipalem, Seethapalli and other schemes. He said that some Telangana projects being built based on net water and the Polavaram project in AP are not completed, so that water is flowing into the sea.

Therefore, he cautioned that there is a perception that there is a lot of surplus water in Godavari. He warned that if all these projects are completed, there will not be much surplus water in Godavari. He made it clear that only the lower state of Andhra Pradesh will have the freedom to use the surplus water.

He said that the upper states of Telangana, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Maharashtra will not have the freedom to use the surplus water. Therefore, he cautioned that Chandrababu Naidu’s statement that Telangana can build projects based on surplus water will cause irreparable damage to Andhra Pradesh.

Moreover, Dr Tulasi Reddy fears that Polavaram-Banakacherla is an unfeasible project and this will become a stumbling block for Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, he suggested that this proposal should be withdrawn.

Minister Nimmala says Dr KL Rao Initiated Interlinking of Rivers 50 years Ago

While Prime Minister Modi and CM Chandrababu Naidu have been initiating the interlinking of rivers presently, AP Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu recalled that it was former union minister KL Rao who initiated the interlinking of rivers 50 years ago.

Minister Nimmala paid tribute to KL Rao’s portrait on the occasion of the 124th birth anniversary of renowned engineer Dr. KL Rao. He made it clear that interlinking of rivers is the way to overcome the famine conditions caused by drought. He said that PM Modi and CM Chandrababu are continuing the inspiration of KL Rao.

He recalled that KL Rao had initiated the construction of the largest projects in the country, including Nagarjuna Sagar, Srisailam and Hirakud. He praised the fact that renowned engineer KL Rao is a Telugu and is a matter of pride. He said that Chandrababu is constructing the Polavaram project so that 3,000 TMC of flood water does not flow into the sea every year.

He was furious that the Polavaram project was destroyed during the previous YSRCP government and said that the coalition government had put the questionable Polavaram project forward. He made it clear that the coalition government’s goal is to complete the Polavaram project by December 2027.

Nimmala recalled that Jaganmohan Reddy had previously mocked him in the Legislative Assembly by saying that it was not Pattiseema, but Vattiseeema. He revealed that the Krishna Delta is becoming green with the completion of Pattiseema with Chandrababu’s hard work and perseverance.

He said that the Krishna Delta did not receive as much rain as expected this year. He said that even though the upper projects are not filled, the Krishna Delta is flourishing with Pattiseema water. He said that the Krishnamma, which flows blue in Vijayawada, has turned red after it meets the Godaramma. He criticized the previous YSRCP government for being extremely negligent on irrigation projects.

The Minister expressed anger that the previous government did not even grease the gates of the irrigation projects. He said that the Pulichintala gates were washed away in the past due to lack of minimum maintenance. He said that after the coalition government came to power, funds were provided for the maintenance and repair of irrigation projects.

Nimmala said that the goal is to bring water to North Andhra through Polavaram this year. He said that the canals were widened within a year to increase the flow of Handreeniva from 2100 cusecs to 3850 cusecs.

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s Delhi Tour: Key Discussions with Amit Shah on Projects & State Finances

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is on a purposeful three-day visit to Delhi and is meeting with senior central government officials to discuss developmental schemes of significance and the state’s immediate fiscal challenges. A feature of his visit was an expansive meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Naidu began by expressing gratitude to Amit Shah for the Centre’s decision to appoint senior TDP leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju as the Goa Governor, valuing the Centre’s gesture of acknowledging Andhra Pradesh’s top political leaders.

Taking a step forward towards development, the Chief Minister declared the Banakacharla irrigation project as a hallmark scheme of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the project in alleviating the chronic drought that plagues the Rayalaseema region. Notably, Naidu promised that the project is designed in such a way that it will not harm the nearby state of Telangana, reflecting the good inter-regional relationship that Andhra Pradesh has.

Regarding water resources, Naidu read statistics that even when the upper states use their share of Godavari river water fully, surplus water keeps flowing for around 90 to 120 days per year. As Andhra Pradesh is the terminal downstream state on the Godavari, he stressed the state’s rightful claim to use this excess water in meeting its development needs.

The discussion then turned to Andhra Pradesh’s fiscal condition. Naidu openly admitted that the economy of the state has been under extreme pressure during the last five years. Even after repeated attempts at stabilizing and reviving it, a number of fiscal challenges remain. He briefed on how Andhra Pradesh is now suffering from an extreme economic crisis due to heavy burdens in the form of government employee payrolls, welfare programs, and ambitious road and infrastructure schemes.

Seeking more support, Naidu asked the central government to provide more financial aid, especially considering the economic losses Andhra Pradesh has suffered in the wake of the bifurcation of the state. The 16th Finance Commission was asked by him to consider these losses while making allocations in resources and to grant significant funding that can enable the state to recover economically and speed up development.

As the three-day tour of Delhi continues, political and economic circles are eagerly observing how the Centre reacts to Naidu’s overtures — a reaction that could have a huge bearing on Andhra Pradesh’s growth possibilities and fiscal well-being in coming years.

Nara Lokesh Offers Andhra Pradesh As Aerospace Hub In Response To Karnataka’s Setback

TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh has smartly transformed a neighbouring state’s challenge into a golden opportunity for Andhra Pradesh. With Karnataka pulling back on its ambitious aerospace park plans near Bengaluru, Lokesh stepped forward to pitch Andhra Pradesh as a viable and strategic alternative.

The Karnataka government had previously planned to establish an aerospace park by taking over almost 1,700 acres of land at Devanahalli, near the Bengaluru International Airport. But strong opposition from local farmers made the government withdraw the proposal — an act that was splashed across the pages of business and industry newspapers.

Responding quickly to the evolution, Nara Lokesh went live on social media with an aggressive offer. He urged aerospace firms to venture into Andhra Pradesh, citing the state’s pro-industry policy for aerospace, liberal incentives, and above all, more than 8,000 acres of land lying waiting for development.

What makes Andhra Pradesh’s proposition more appealing is its closeness to Bengaluru. Lokesh highlighted that the planned industrial corridor comes nearer to Bengaluru International Airport than Bengaluru city. Buses from Bengaluru already run up to the Kia Motors factory in Anantapur, highlighting how much connected and accessible the area has become.

His message was unambiguous and one of looking at the future — Andhra Pradesh is not only open for business, but also well positioned to host high-end industries such as aerospace and defense manufacturing.

If aerospace companies seize Lokesh’s invitation, Anantapur will soon become a big aerospace hub, offering new jobs, investment, and regional development. By converting Karnataka’s hurdle into a challenge, Nara Lokesh once again proved his priority on development-oriented politics.

TDP’s sudden Move seeking EC third party Audit of voters List with CAG Every year creating stir In NDA

The TDP team has met the Election Commission suddenly in Delhi and demanded a third-party audit of the voter lists with the CAG every year to conduct transparent elections and to revise the voter lists, which is creating a stir among the NDA parties.

The TDP has urged the Central Election Commission not to amend the voters’ list in connection with citizenship verification. It has suggested that the amendments should be made as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court. In this regard, it has sought procedural clarity for the Special Comprehensive Revision (SIR) process planned to be carried out across the country, similar to the one currently being carried out in Bihar.

A group of leaders including TDP state president Palla Srinivasa Rao met Central Election Commissioner (ECI) Gyanesh Kumar at the Dharavi Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday. MPs Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu, D Prasada Rao, Byreddy Sabari, MLA Kuna Ravikumar and TDP national spokesperson T Jyotsna  submitted a four-page letter to the ECI.

It has demanded that fake, immigrant and dead votes be removed in real time with the help of AI. It has demanded that duplicate votes be removed with the help of Aadhaar and representatives of all recognized parties be involved in the revision of the voter lists and that information be given to the BLOs before the publication of the draft voter list.

Presently, the Central Election Commission has started a special voter revision process just two months before the assembly elections to be held in Bihar this year. However, the opposition parties are raising the issue that a large number of votes are being deleted in this.

Although it is said that only the votes of Bangladeshi, Nepali and Myanmar nationals are being removed, the ruling NDA is already getting agitated over the removal and addition of voters in the state. It is suspecting over BJP’s hidden agenda to remove the votes of the communities that oppose it. The Supreme Court has also intervened in this matter and made several suggestions to the EC.

In this context, the TDP, which is an ally of the NDA at the national level, approached the EC and it has decided to be careful in advance and restrain the BJP’s moves. It has asked that the details of the changes and additions of voters and their reasons be uploaded on the EC website district-wise.

TDP has also asked that dashboards be maintained to resolve complaints from voters in real time. It has said that steps should be taken to hold those responsible if the election officials make mistakes in this process and booth-level election officials be rotated without showing local bias. It also demanded the establishment of an ombudsman for unresolved complaints at the state level.

TDP also demanded a special drive to include homeless people and migrant workers in the voters’ list. It sought temporary addresses be provided to them even with nominal proofs. It also suggested that a review of the voters’ lists be conducted once a month with recognized political parties.

It said that adequate time should be given for the revision of the voters’ lists before the elections, that those who are already voters should not have to show proofs again, that votes should not be deleted without a thorough investigation, that the responsibility of collecting voter identification documents should be on the authorities and not on the voters.

High Court Rejects YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy’s Anticipatory Bail petition In Liquor scam

In a major setback to YSRCP Lok Sabha leader Mithun Reddy, the AP High Court has dismissed his petition seeking anticipatory bail in the AP liquor bribery case. The court has made it clear that anticipatory bail cannot be granted at this stage. MP Mithun Reddy is the A4 accused in the liquor bribery case.

Senior advocate Siddhartha Luthra, appearing for the CID/SIT, argued in the High Court that the liquor orders and supply system was previously transparent through the online system, and MP Mithun Reddy (A4) played a key role in bringing it to a manual system. He said that liquor supply permits were given only to companies that received bribes.

He said that the liquor scam during the YSRCP government caused a loss of Rs. 3,500 crore to the state exchequer. He argued that Mithun Reddy played a major role in diverting the money and acted as the mastermind of the liquor scam from the time it was planned to its execution. He also explained that evidence related to this has been found.

He told the court that if Mithun Reddy is arrested and interrogated, it will be known where the bribe money ultimately ended up. It was brought to the court’s attention that Rs. 5 crore was deposited in the bank account of Mithun Reddy’s family’s PLR Projects Private Limited from Dekart Logistics Private Limited (A16) as bribes.

He said that gold ornaments were purchased with the money received through bribes. He also said that Mithun Reddy has a criminal record and that 8 cases have been registered against him. Luthra urged the court to dismiss Mithun Reddy’s petition, saying that he was ineligible for anticipatory bail.

Senior advocate T. Niranjan Reddy arguing on behalf of MP Mithun Reddy said that the petitioner had nothing to do with the liquor policy brought by the government and that Mithun Reddy was not a director of PLR Projects. He said that there was no evidence to suggest that the petitioner had committed any crime except the testimony of a witness that the Rs.5 crore received by PLR from Decard Logistics was paid back to that company.

After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court recently reserved its verdict and issued orders on Tuesday dismissing the anticipatory bail petition.

A.M. Rathnam Recreates Charminar for Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’

Pawan Kalyan’s long-awaited historical action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu is all set for a grand pan-India release on July 24. Directed by Krish and Jyothi Krishna and produced by A.M. Rathnam, the film has completed all production and post-production formalities.

Speaking about the ambitious scale of the project, producer A.M. Rathnam revealed that a life-sized replica of Hyderabad’s iconic Charminar was specially erected for the film. “We could have taken Kalyan garu to shoot for a few hours near the real Charminar, but we couldn’t capture the scenes the way we envisioned. So, we recreated the monument on a massive scale to shoot key portions,” he said.

Rathnam also mentioned the construction of an authentic 17th-century harbour set for the film. “We designed the set to reflect the ports of that era, making the audience feel like they’ve stepped back in time,” he added.

The makers stated that Pawan Kalyan’s portrayal of Veera Mallu will be introduced through two contrasting sequences, offering fans a feast of visuals. Director Jyothi Krishna recently revealed that the character was inspired by legendary actors NTR and MGR. “When I was writing the script, people had already started seeing Pawan Kalyan not just as an actor but as a leader. That sentiment influenced several scenes,” he explained. The film also features custom-designed weapons to match the grandeur of the character.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu will be released in two parts. The first part, titled Sword and Spirit, is set to hit theatres on July 24. Reports indicate that a portion of the second part has already been filmed.

The star-studded cast includes Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, and Sathyaraj in prominent roles. The film has received a U/A certificate from the censor board, with a runtime of 2 hours and 42 minutes.
