Telangana Congress MLAs, MLCs, MPs To contribute Two Months salaries For Flood-Relief

Heavy rains in Telangana have caused huge damage due to floods. The damage is extensive in Khammam, Mahabubabad, Suryapet and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. Many poor people have become homeless. There was loss of life along with massive loss of property.

Many people are coming forward with their best to support the victims who have been severely affected by the floods. Donations continue to pour from politicians to film personalities, as well as industrialists.

The ruling Congress party leaders also came forward to contribute to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Responding to the suggestion given by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and new TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, all the Congress MLAs, MLCs and MPs of the party decided to contribute two months of their salaries.

Along with them, all the Chairmans of various Corporations and Government Advisors also will contribute their two months salaries. It is noteworthy that this is double the assistance announced by BRS leaders. MLAs, MPs and MLCs of the BRS party have already announced that they are donating their one month salary.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association is also helping the flood victims by providing kits with essential commodities to the victims. They have already sent 10,000 kits of essential commodities to Khamma, which was worst affected by floods. They said that the value of each kit will be Rs 3,000. Ministers Sridhar Babu and Tummala Nageswara Rao have flagged off their relief materials.

On the other hand, relief efforts are continuing. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao are staying in the flood affected areas directly monitoring flood-relief measures, by cancelling their review meeting and other official assignments in Hyderabad.

While the areas affected by previous floods are slowly recovering, now again they are scared as the weather forecast warns again heavy rains may hit the state. In the wake of warnings of rains again,  the state government and authorities are alerted and taking precautionary measures to avoid any trouble to the people in the flood affected areas.

Nara Lokesh Slams YS Jagan For Ignoring Flood Victims While Relaxing In Bangalore Palace

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh expressed strong anger towards YSRCP leader and former CM YS Jagan. He criticized Jagan for relaxing in a Bangalore palace while people were suffering due to floods. Lokesh found it ironic that Jagan was criticizing CM Chandrababu Naidu, who was tirelessly working for the welfare of the people.

“Do you have the dignity to demand the position of opposition leader, Jagan? You’ve become the brand ambassador for dirty politics, making baseless accusations. If not for your passport issues, you would have flown off to London by now, but instead, you’re relaxing in Bangalore. Yet, you find it in your heart to criticize Chandrababu, who, at 74 years old, is relentlessly helping flood victims. You’ve never even handed out a simple packet of food to those in need, and everyone knows the story behind your so-called self-check donations.

Chandrababu allocated ₹464 crores for the modernization of Budameru, but during your ‘reverse governance,’ you halted the work, becoming the primary cause of the disaster. The flooding of Budameru is your responsibility – a Jagan-made disaster. You stopped modernization and repair works, and around ₹500 crores worth of 600 acres were grabbed by YSRCP leaders. Even when cracks appeared in 2022, you ignored them. For five years, there has been no proper maintenance, and you halted stormwater drain projects in Vijayawada. The current suffering of the people is due to the failures of your administration. We will overcome all these problems, and we will not rest until every flood victim receives the help they need,” stated Nara Lokesh.

Tollywood Actor Brahmaji Clarifies Hacked X Account Incident

Tollywood boasts numerous talented actors, and Brahmaji certainly stands out among them. Renowned for his impeccable comedic timing and versatile performances, the ‘Pushpa 2’ actor has shared the screen with many stars in the industry. However, Brahmaji recently faced a digital hiccup when his X account (formerly Twitter) was hacked.

In a recent post, the ‘Khadgam’ actor revealed that his account had been compromised. The incident came to light when a controversial response from his account was posted on a well-known politician’s feed. Though the post was swiftly deleted, it didn’t stop Brahmaji from facing backlash from the politician’s supporters. Addressing the situation, Brahmaji clarified that the post wasn’t his and was made by the hacker. He assured fans that he had taken action, filed a complaint, and deleted the post.

Murali Mohan Responds To Hydra Notices on Jayabheri Encroachment

Senior actor Murali Mohan has responded to the Hydra notices issued to the Jayabheri Group. He confirmed the legitimacy of the notices and clarified that Jayabheri has never been involved in any illegal encroachments. He explained that Hydra officials inspected their site based on local complaints and found that their temporary shed extended three feet into the buffer zone. This shed is located near the Rangalalkunta Lake buffer zone in Gachibowli.

Murali Mohan assured that the company will remove the shed themselves and there is no need for Hydra to intervene. Hydra had initially given Jayabheri 15 days to remove the structure, warning that they would take action if not done. In response, Murali Mohan stated that they will remove the temporary shed by Tuesday evening. He also emphasized that he has been in the real estate business for 33 years and has never engaged in any illegal activities.

Pawan Kalyan Begins Distribution of Rs 1 Lakh Each Donation To Panchayats on Monday

The film star-turned politician Pawan Kalyan has emerged as a unique personality wherever he is showing his commitment and keen concentration whatever assignments he takes up. As a Deputy Chief Minister, holding key ministries he has been showing his unique leadership qualities, though he is new to governance and for the first time in the legislative sphere.

During a period of unprecedented floods rocked Vijayawada city also, unlike other leaders he didn’t try to present himself as a `champion’ in relief operations by always presenting himself in the eyes of the people. But though confining himself to his office or relief control room, he has been extending very constructive and purposeful contributions.

By announcing Rs 6 crore towards flood relief, he has emerged as the leader who contributed the highest amount for the assistance of victims. Like other leaders, he has given Rs 1 crore each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of two Telugu states. And the remaining Rs 4 crore, he said he will give Rs 1 lakh each to 400 village panchayats, who were badly affected in the floods.

Probably, as a Panchayat Raj minister he seems to be focusing more to come to the rescue of suffering villagers at a time most of people’s attention concentrated on Vijayawada city. He also said that he is starting distribution of Rs 1 lakh to each village panchayat on Monday.

This was disclosed by AP Civil Supplies Minister and Janasena leader Nadendla Manohar. Nadendla Manohar disclosed this in a teleconference of MPs, MLAs and Jana Sena leader Nadendla Manohar. Manohar said that Pawan Kalyan’s assistance to Panchayats will remain as a role model in history.

Manohar said that Jana Sena leaders will directly distribute this assistance to Panchayats on behalf of the state government and also Jana Sena on Monday evening in the presence of all. Such programmes will be organised in 20 centers of six districts across the state, at 4 pm.

Manohar suggested that the sarpanchs and panchayat secretaries of the flood affected villages should come to the respective centers and receive the donation money. He said that the donation given by Pawan Kalyan should be used for the development of villages, conservation of village properties, maintenance of health camps and sanitation.

Centre Discharges Former Trainee officer Puja Khedkar From IAS

There seems to be no end to Puja Khedkar’s troubles. Days after the Delhi Police called for the cancellation of her anticipatory bail and the UPSC revoked her provisional candidature, the Central Government on Friday also took a stern action against Puja Khedkar, discharging her from the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) with immediate effect.

She was charged with fraudulently exceeding the permissible number of attempts for the Civil Services Examination by falsifying her identity and wrongfully availing OBC and disability quota benefits.

“Vide Order dated 6th September, 2024, the Central Government discharges Ms Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar, IAS Probationer (MH:2023), from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) under Rule 12 of IAS (Probation) Rules, 1954, with immediate effect,” an official said.

After allegations of her violating the rules for the civil services examination emerged, the Union Public Service Commission on July 31 cancelled Puja’s candidature for the CSE-2022. She had allegedly changed her name and parents’ names to appear for the examination more times than what is allowed.

Significantly, in the aftermath of the ongoing controversy, Khedkar had recently informed the Delhi High Court that she is willing to undergo a medical examination at AIIMS after the Delhi Police raised concerns over the authenticity of one of her disability certificates, claiming it may be “forged” and “fabricated.”

Khedkar’s senior counsel in his remark to the court during a hearing on her anticipatory bail plea informed that she iss willing to undergo the test once again. On behalf of her, he stated, “I am willing to get myself medically examined. First, they accused me of changing my name, and now they question my disability. I am ready to go to AIIMS for the examination.”

Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that Justice Subramonium Prasad, who presided over the hearing, has scheduled the matter for further consideration on September 26. And Khedkar’s interim protection from arrest, granted by the high court, will remain in effect until then.

YCP Leaders Nowhere Seen In Flood Relief Activities

The opposition YCP leaders claim that though they lost power, still they have support of 40 percent of people and demand `Leader of Opposition’ status to their supreme leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy, though their party was confined to 11 MLAs in the assembly.

But, when the people in and around Vijayawada have been suffering from unprecedented flood havoc, no leader is seen anywhere in relief activities. Though all sections are coming forward to contribute their bit for relief activities, YCP Corporators, former MLAs and other leaders are not even coming out to console the victims, except one or two people seen on their own.

The city of Vijayawada was devastated by the Budameru floods and half of the city’s population was flooded. People on the other side of Vijayawada city were hit by Krishna river. As the Krishna flood receded, they all breathed a sigh of relief within two or three days, but the Budameru problem did not come to an end. Village after village has been flooded for a week.

In many divisions of Vijayawada city, flood water is still two to three feet high. The flood flow is not receding. Even if the flood level subsides, the waste water used in many parts of the city should go into the Budameru through the outfall channels through the drains. Due to the flood flow from the top of Budameru, the flood in the city is not going down.

Millions of people were left homeless and forced to survive. YCP is the ruling party in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. Until yesterday YSP was in power in Vijayawada West and Central constituencies as well as in Mylavaram. But surprisingly no YCP leader is seen among people.

Regardless of politics, the leaders who are supposed to participate in the flood relief operations are running away from the people. Two days ago, YCP president Jaganmohan Reddy visited Vijayawada’s Old Rajarajeswaripet. Vijayawada West candidate Asif along with some corporators accompanied Jagan.

Volunteers who worked in the previous government were among the flood victims visited by Jagan. Local leaders have made advance arrangements for Jagan to talk to them. Jagan spent about an hour with the victims in the flood-affected area.

Local corporators were not available to the public after the flood inundated Vijayawada West Constituency and Central Constituency from last Sunday morning. Some leaders remained there until Jagan’s visit on Thursday.

Only the government administration, voluntary organizations and local youth tried to support the victims. Moreover, many of the key YCP leaders do not dare to come out for fear of arrest. Cases have been registered against many people in the attack on TDP office. Several other leaders are now fearing to identify themselves as YCP publicly.

Heavy Rain Forecast To Andhra And Telangana Again

Even before recuperating from the devastation caused by the recent torrential rains and the subsequent floods that claimed several lives, causing irreparable damage to thousands of families, another threat looms large over Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as the Indian Meteorological Department issued heavy rain alert for the next couple of days.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in several districts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next two days due to a well-marked low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The IMD in a press release on September 7 said, “Isolated very heavy rainfall is very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Telangana on September 8 and 9.

According to the forecast, heavy to very heavy rains with extremely heavy downpours are likely at isolated places, particularly in Eluru, ASR, East Godavari, West Godavari, and NTR districts. These districts have been placed under an orange alert. Rainfall is expected to persist through Sunday, with further warnings for other districts, including Konaseema, Kakinada, Yanam and Visakhapatnam.

The rain forecast adds to the existing challenges of both AP and Telangana which are already facing the wrath of nature due to heavy inundation of Vijayawada and Khammam on the last two days of August. These floods left a trail of devastation and claimed numerous lives in both states. The rescue operations are currently underway and any further rains will only hamper them.
