Chief Secretary Nirab Kumar Prasad has directed the officials of the Roads and Buildings Department to make the roads free of defects throughout Andhra Pradesh. Conducting a review on the implementation of the 100-day action plan with the government secretaries at the secretariat, he said that all the roads should be free from potholes.
During the election campaign, the TDP and its allies accused the previous Jaganmohan Reddy government of completely ignoring road maintenance in the state, leading to the worst conditions for all the roads. So soon after the formation of the new government, the Roads and Buildings Department initiated the 100-day action plan in this regard.
The Chief Secretary has directed officials to make all roads pothole-free. He emphasized the need for quick action since the authorities have already sanctioned the funds for this. He suggested using drones if necessary to detect potholes on the main roads.
After completing the works, officials clarified that the AE, DEE, EE, and SE in the respective areas must provide certificates confirming there are no potholes. He stated that they would fill the potholes once they finalize the tenders.
Prior to that, the team discussed the 100-day action plan related to the education and higher education departments. They covered the mid-day meal scheme, academic calendar, skill training, rating process for various educational institutions, and linking ITIs and polytechnics with industries, as well as providing internships and apprenticeships.
While discussing the 100-day activities related to the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, they reviewed the issues of Anna canteens, cleaning drains, and the opening of Anganwadi centers that have yet to start.
Ajay Jain, the special chief secretary of the department, announced that the 100-day action plan aims to build 1.25 lakh houses. After that, CS Nirab Kumar Prasad discussed the implementation of a 100-day action plan related to civil supplies, tribal, women and child welfare and youth welfare departments with the secretaries of the respective departments.
