Supreme Court stays TN police probe Against Jaggi Vasudev

The Supreme Court on Thursday restrained the Tamil Nadu police from taking any further action against the Isha Foundation led by spiritual guru Jaggi Vasudev based on Madras High Court’s directions.

Stating “you can’t let the Army or the police into an institution like this”, the Supreme Court transferred to itself the petition pending before the Madras High Court in which the HC directed the police to report on criminal cases registered against the Isha Yoga Foundation of Sadhguru. A three-judge bench presided by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud also directed that the status report by the police in pursuance of the HC order be submitted to it.

Hearing the case, a bench headed by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra ordered, “Police shall not take any further action in pursuance of directions in paragraph 4 of the High Court’s order.” The HC had directed the Coimbatore district police to conduct an inquiry while hearing a petition by monks’ parents and file a status report.

The Madras High Court came down heavily on Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and his Isha Yoga foundation and ordered further probe by the police. As many as 150 police personnel conducted searches at Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore.

The habeas corpus petition filed by S. Kamaraj, a retired professor and the father of two girls who are allegedly at the foundation ashram against their will. Kamaraj in his petition before the Madras High Court said that his two daughters – Geetha Kamaraj (42) and Latha Kamaraj (39), were brainwashed by Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation and were forced into monastic life.

Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for the Foundation, submitted before the bench that the ashram has a blemishless record and the two women who were alleged to have been held by force  appeared before the Madras High Court and stated they were there on their own will. Representing the Centre, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta too said the Madras High Court should have been more circumspect before passing the order.

One of the women also appeared online before the bench initially and said they had appeared before the Madras High Court. “We are here at Isha Yoga Centre by our own will. And, we also told the honourable judge of the high court that this harassment from our father’s side has been continuing for the past 8 years.”

Later, the Supreme Court bench said it would interact with the two women online in their chamber. After interacting with the two women, CJI Chandrachud said they informed them that they were at the Isha Foundation ashram of their own will. The women also said the police were at the ashram for two days but left on Wednesday night.

Even after turning as a politician and elected to the Lok Sabha, Bollywood `firebrand actress’ Kangana Ranaut continues in generating a new controversy every time, pushing her own party BJP into an embarrassing situation. Her own party leaders are condemning her `immature’ comments and the party itself distancing itself from her on many occasions.

On the day of Gandhi Jayanthi, she created an uproar with a social media post about Mahatma Gandhi and former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The actor, who previously faced backlash for her comments on the farmers’ protests, paid homage to Shastri on his 120th birth anniversary through a post that appeared to downplay Gandhi’s stature as the Father of the Nation.

“Desh ke pita nahi, desh ke to lal hote hai. Dhanye hai Bharat ma ke ye lal (The country does not have fathers; it has sons. Blessed are these sons of Mother India)” Ranaut wrote on her Instagram Stories. In a follow-up post, the actor credited Prime Minister  Narendra Modi for carrying forward Gandhi’s legacy on cleanliness in the country.

The Congress leader Supriya Shrinate took the BJP MP from Mandi’s comment seriously and lamented her “lewd jibe” at Gandhi.  “BJP MP Kangana made this lewd jibe on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. Godse worshippers draw distinctions between Bapu and Shastri ji. Will Narendra Modi wholeheartedly forgive his party’s new Godse devotee? There is the Father of the Nation, there are sons, and there are martyrs. Everyone deserves respect,” Shrinate said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, Manoranjan Kalia, a senior BJP leader from Punjab, strongly condemned Ranaut for her latest remarks. “I condemn Kangana Ranaut’s comments made on Gandhiji’s 155th birth anniversary. In her short political career, she has developed a habit of making controversial statements,” Kalia said in a video posted on social media.

Reminding that politics is not her field and politics is a serious affair, he cautioned her that one must think before speaking as her controversial remarks cause trouble for the party.

Only last month BJP faced the most embarrassing situation during crucial Haryana elections as she advocated the return of the three farm laws repealed in 2021. Moreover, soon after her election to the Lok Sabha in June, she created uproar alleging that the farmers’ agitation against the three farm laws was leading to a “Bangladesh-type situation in India”, claiming that “dead bodies were hanging, and rapes were taking place” at the protest sites.

Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s recent comments alleging that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao was the main reason for the separation of Tollywood’s former star couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, which sparked huge controversy. 

In response, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Akkineni’s family—including Nagarjuna, Amala, Naga Chaitanya, and Akhil—strongly denounced the claims. Numerous top celebrities from Tollywood expressed their support for the family, criticizing Konda Surekha’s remarks.

Jr. NTR was among the first to speak out, stating on X, “Konda Surekha Garu, dragging personal lives into politics is a new low. Public figures, especially those in responsible positions like you, must maintain dignity and respect for privacy. It’s disheartening to see baseless statements thrown around carelessly, especially about the film industry. We will not sit quietly while others make baseless allegations against us. We should rise above this and maintain respect for each other’s boundaries. Let’s ensure our society does not normalize such reckless behavior in democratic India.”

Megastar Chiranjeevi also came in support and said it was extremely painful to see disgraceful remarks made by the women minister. It is a shame that celebs and film members become soft targets as they provide instant reach and attention.

In his statement, he wrote, “We as Film Industry stand united in opposing such vicious verbal assaults on our members. No one should stoop to this level for scoring political points by dragging unconnected people and more so women into their political slugfest and make distasteful allegations. We choose our leaders to make society a better place to live in and not contaminate it by lowering the discourse. Politicians and people in honorable positions should set better examples. Trust the concerned will make amends and withdraw these malicious remarks immediately.”

Many other celebrities, including Nani, Allu Arjun, Venkatesh Daggubati, Sudheer Babu, Varun Tej, and others, also condemned Konda Surekha’s remarks, joining the call for respect and accountability.

Pawan Kalyan To Issue `Varahi Declaration’ To protect `Sanathana Dharma’ Today In Tirupati

Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan, who undertook the Varahi Yatra to save the state from the anarchic rule of the YSP, took another resolution to save Sanatana Dharma. At the Varahi Sabha to be held in Tirupati on Thursday evening he will be issuing the `Varahi Declaration’ intended to protect Sanatana Dharma.

After completion of Prayachitha Deeksha he had Lord Venkateswara darshan at Tirumala and later he explained about his proposed `Varahi Declaration’. He also performed pujas to his `Varahi Declaration’ at Tirumala. Pawan said that the Varahi Sabha in Tirupati will be dedicated to the preservation of Sanatana Dharma.

He said that he is organizing the Varahi Sabha with the aim of echoing the voices of lakhs of people who want to set up a special board for the preservation of Sanatana Dharma. He said that when the Varahi Yatra was started 14 months ago, it was not just a movement, it was started with the aim of showing solutions to problems.

At a time when Andhra Pradesh was suffocating under the tyrannical rule of the YSRCP, he recalled that Varahi moved forward by instilling courage in the people of the state. He said that the Varahi Yatra has given people the courage and determination to fight for justice.  Moreover, he asserted that it was not just a yatra, but represents the commitment to protect our state and culture.

Meanwhile, the Varahi Sabha in Tirupati will be the first public meeting participated by Pawan Kalyan after becoming Deputy Chief Minister. As a result, a lot of excitement is seen among his followers and also people in general.

It is known that in the wake of adulteration of ghee that was intended for Tirupati laddu was exposed in a lab report, Pawan took up 11 days Prayaschitha Deeksha and given a call for the formation of a board at the national level for the protection of Sanatana Dharma.

In view of his mass appeal, Jana Sena leaders are not focusing on mobilizing large numbers of people to his public meetings. They are expecting those interested from Rayalaseema districts to attend the meeting.  Interestingly, former MLA and TDP constituency incharge Sugunamma also appealed to her party cadre to participate in the public meeting in large numbers.

Former YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari constituency and also an ex-Minister in Jagan’s cabinet, Roja Selvamani was labelled as a firebrand politician in the last five years not for her aggression in discharging her duties but for her verbal diarrhoea on her opponents. In the last ten years since she joined YSRCP, Roja foul-mouthed TDP leaders during many public interactions. She resorted to character assassination with her abusive language on Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. 

It seems like her filthy attitude towards fellows politicians continues to haunt Roja even after her defeat as she is often facing criticism in the public domain whenever she expresses her opinion on any issue. The latest instance which once again brought hate on Roja is the ugly tussle between the current Telangana Minister Konda Surekha and former IT Minister and BRS leader KTR. 

As Konda Surekha’s distasteful comments on Samantha and KTR invited severe backlash, Roja reacted on the issue and condemned them through her social media handle. She demanded an apology for dragging the Akkineni family, especially Samantha into the political issue without any proof. 

While Roja’s reaction over the issue as a fellow woman is acceptable, her hypocrisy and double standards are equally deserving to be attacked. This is because of her deplorable comments on Pawan Kalyan’s personal life and Chandrababu Naidu’s family. Netizens pointed that Roja has got no right to come and speak now because she she has made more vulgar comments in the past when YSR Congress party was in power. 

Many are sharing Roja’s old videos in which she was seen using unacceptable and unparliamentary language against Pawan Kalyan’s former wife Renu Desai who is also a film actor. So, Roja is currently getting roasted for her hypocrisy in this issue. She is facing the ire from netizens.

కొండా సురేఖ తాజాగా మరొక ట్వీట్ చేశారు. కేటీఆర్ వ్యవహారాల గురించి చేసిన విమర్శలలో సమంత పేరు కూడా ప్రస్తావించినందుకు ఆమె సంజాయిషీ ఇచ్చారు. ‘నా వ్యాఖ్యల ఉద్దేశం మహిళల పట్ల ఒక నాయకుడి చిన్నచూపు ధోరణి ప్రశ్నించడమే తప్ప నీ మనోభావాలను దెబ్బతీయడం కాదు. స్వయం శక్తితో మీరు ఎదిగిన తీరు నాకు కేవలం అభిమానం మాత్రమే కాదు ఆదర్శం కూడా’ అంటూ సమంత ఉద్దేశించి కొండా సురేఖ ట్వీట్ చేశారు. అంతే తప్ప సమంతను కేటీఆర్ వద్దకు వెళ్లవలసిందిగా భర్త నాగచైతన్య, మామ నాగార్జున ఒత్తిడి చేశారంటూ చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యల విషయంలో ఆమె సారీ చెప్పేనేలేదు. రాజకీయాల్లోకి సినిమా సెలబ్రెటీలను లాగవద్దు అన్న హీరో నాగార్జునకు సారీ చెప్పలేదు. సమంతకు మాత్రమే ఆమె చెప్పిన సంజాయిషీ సినిమా పరిశ్రమలో మరొక సంచలన చర్చ లాగా మారుతోంది.

‘మీరు మనస్థాపానికి గురైనట్లయితే నా వ్యాఖ్యలను ఉపసంహరించుకుంటున్నా’ అని కొండా సురేఖ ప్రకటించారు. నిజానికి సురేఖ చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలు సమంతకు చేసే నష్టం కంటే- నాగార్జునకు చేసిన నష్టమే ఎక్కువ. సమంత ఆత్మగౌరవాన్ని కాపాడే లాగానే సురేఖ చెప్పిన మాటలు ఉన్నాయి. కానీ నాగార్జున విషయంలో అవి చాలా హేయమైన విమర్శలు! అయితే సంజాయిషీలో కూడా సురేఖ సమంతను ప్రస్తావించారే తప్ప నాగార్జునకు నామమాత్రంగానైనా ఒక సారీ చెప్పకపోవడం ఇప్పుడు చర్చనీయాంశం అవుతోంది.

నాగార్జున కుటుంబ గౌరవాన్ని దెబ్బతీసేలాగా కొండా సురేఖ మాటలు ఉన్నాయే తప్ప.. సమంతను కించపరిచేలా లేవు. కానీ ఆమె సమంతకు సారీ చెప్పి, నాగార్జున విషయంలో కిమ్మనకుండా ఉండిపోవడం ఆ వెటరన్  హీరోకు ఇంకా పెద్ద అవమానమే అని పలువురు అనుకుంటున్నారు.

With the growing usage of technology, WhatsApp services have become a necessity for millions of people around the world. Now, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is contemplating to make use of this facility to facilitate divine darshan in temples all over the state, particularly at Tirumala.

He felt it will make devotees obtain divine darshan facilities on the day of their choice. Nowadays, many people are using WhatsApp to book movie tickets, gas books, bus tickets and flight services. At a review meeting with endowment officers recently, the Chief Minister has reportedly suggested that this facility be extended at Tirumala.

As there is a lot of pressure for recommendation letters for Lord Venkateswara darshan at Tirumala, the Chief Minister said introducing WhatsApp services may enable common people also to reserve their darshan slots well in advance. Asking them to first introduce the system at Tirumala, he said that later it may be gradually extended to all other temples.

Not only Darshan, all other requirements like accommodation also may be provided through WhatsApp. Moreover, the Chief Minister also suggested reviewing charges of various sevas and also prices of various facilities at Tirumala, so as to think of providing them for devotees at an affordable price.

Meanwhile, Tirumala is getting ready for Sri Venkateswara Swamy’s annual Brahmotsavam from October 4th to 12th. They will be started with an Ankurarpanam to be performed on Thursday evening  from 7 to 8 pm.  Before performing any festival, Ankurarpanam is performed to pray to the Lord for success.

As part of this, Sri Vishvaksenula, who is the head of the army on behalf of Srivari, will go in a procession through the four Mada streets of the temple and supervise the Brahmotsavam arrangements.

The traditional Ankuraropanam or Beejavapanam is one of the most important rituals of the Vaikhanasa Agama which essentially is the Seed Swing Festival that is observed in Tirumala as a ritual of prelude on a day before the annual Brahmotsavam. The essence of this ritual is to make a sankalpa (wish) to celebrate a festival in a successful manner and get the grace of the Mula Virat. 

Another important thing to note is that Ankurarpanam should never be done in the daytime. This dictum has its basis in astrological principles as Chandra, the Moon is often termed as the “Sasya karaka” the controller of plants. 

Sowing a seed in the day time is not considered wise. In fact chandra is considered strong in the night. Also an auspicious lagna or muhurta is considered to sow the Nava Dhanyas.

తనను, తన పార్టీని కాదనుకుని వెళ్లిపోయే వారి విషయంలో జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి చాలా ఖచ్చితంగా ఉంటారు. వెళ్లిపోయే వారిని బతిమాలడం, పార్టీ వీడిపోవద్దని అడగడం జగన్ వద్ద చాలా పరిమితంగా మాత్రమే ఉంటుంది. కనీసం వెళ్లిపోయే వారు, ఎందుకు వెళ్లిపోతున్నారో తెలుసుకుని, అదే కారణాలవల్ల ఇంకా ఎవరైనా వెళ్లిపోకుండా పార్టీని కాపాడుకోవాలనే ఆలోచన కూడా జగన్ వ్యవహార సరళిలో ఉండదు. అయితే పార్టీని వద్దని అనుకున్న ఎమ్మెల్సీల విషయంలో ఆయన వైఖరి, ధోరణి ఏమిటో అర్థం కావడం లేదు. ముగ్గురు వైసీపీ ఎమ్మెల్సీకలు ఇప్పటికే తమ పదవులకు రాజీనామా చేసి మండలి ఛైర్మన్ కు సమర్పించారు. మండలి ఛైర్మన్ వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి చెందిన వ్యక్తే. అయినాసరే, వారి రాజీనామాలు మాత్రం ఇంకా ఆమోదం పొందలేదు. వారిని మాజీలు చేయకుండా కొనసాగించడంలో జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి వైఖరి ఏమిటో అర్థం కావడం లేదని రాజకీయవర్గాల్లో చర్చ జరుగుతోంది.

ఏపీ శాసనమండలిలో వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ కు 36 మంది సభ్యుల బలం ఉంది. అధికార ఎన్డీయే కూటమికి ఉన్న బలం 10 మాత్రమే. రాష్ట్రంలో అధికారం చేతులు మారిన తర్వాత పలువురు ఎమ్మెల్సీలు ఎన్డీయే కూటమిలో చేరడానికి ఉత్సాహపడుతున్నట్టుగా వార్తలు వస్తున్నాయి. వైసీపీ మెజారిటీకి మొత్తంగా గండిపడే అవకాశం కూడా ఉన్నదని అంటున్నారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో ఇప్పటికే ముగ్గురు ఆ పార్టీ నుంచి రాజీనామా చేశారు. పోతుల సునీత, కర్రి పద్మశ్రీ, బల్లి కల్యాణ్ చక్రవర్తి ముగ్గురూ పదవులకు రాజీనామాలు చేసేసి.. మాజీలు కావడం కోసం నిరీక్షిస్తున్నారు. వారాలు నెలలు గడుస్తున్నప్పటికీ వీటిని మండలి ఛైర్మన్ మోషన్ రాజు ఇప్పటిదాకా ఆమోదించనేలేదు. కనీసం వారిని పిలిచి వివరణ తీసుకోవడం కూడా జరగలేదు. మోషేన్ రాజు, తమ పార్టీ అధినేత జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి సూచనను అనుసరించి నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటారని అనుకోవచ్చు. అయితే, ఎమ్మెల్సీల రాజీనామాలను ఆమోదిస్తూ పోతే.. మండలిలో కూడా తమ పార్టీ టెక్నికల్ గా మైనారిటీలో పడుతుందని జగన్ భయపడుతున్నారా? అనేది పలువురి సందేహంగా ఉంది. మండలి ఎదుటకు బిల్లులు వచ్చినప్పుడు వారంతా ప్రభుత్వానికి అనుకూలంగా వ్యవహరిస్తారు. కానీ సాంకేతికంగా వైసీపీ సభ్యులుగా ఉంటే చాలు అనే ఉద్దేశంతో జగన్ ఉన్నారా? అనేది తేలడం లేదు. ఇంత రాజీపడిన నిర్ణయం అసలు జగన్ ఎందుకు తీసుకున్నారనేది ఆ పార్టీ వారికే బోధపడడం లేదు. వెళ్లిపోయే వారిని పోనివ్వండి అని చెప్పే జగన్, ఎమ్మెల్సీల రాజీనామాలను ఆమోదించేలా మోషేన్ రాజుకు ఎందుకు చెప్పడం లేదో మరి.

జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి అయిదేళ్లు ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా ఉన్న రోజుల్లో పేదలకు పథకాల పేరుతో నిధులు వారి జేబులో పెట్టడం తప్ప చేసిందేమీ లేదు. ఇలా ఒక చేత్తో డబ్బులు ఇస్తూ, అలా మరో చేత్తో చెత్త మద్యానికి నిర్ణయించిన అధికధరలు, నిత్యావసరాల అధికధరల రూపేణా ఎడాపెడా దోచేసుకోవడం ఆయనకే చెల్లింది. అలాగే ప్రధానంగా గ్రామాలకు వెళ్లే రోడ్లు అత్యంత అధ్వానంగా గోతులు, లోయల మయంగా మారిపోయినప్పటికీ.. జగన్ ఏనాడూ వాటిని మరమ్మతు చేయడం గురించి పట్టించుకోలేదు. అలాంటిది.. ప్రజల మీద చెత్త పన్ను మాత్రం బాది ముక్కు పిండి వసూలు చేయడం ప్రారంభించారు. చెత్త పన్నులు వసూలు చేసే విషయంలో మునిసిపాలిటీల సిబ్బంది కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో చాలా అమానుషంగా వ్యవహరించిన ఉదాహరణలు కూడా ఉన్నాయి. జగన్ సర్కారు విధించిన చుత్త పన్ను అనేది ఒక తుగ్లక్ నిర్ణయంగా పరిహాసాస్పదంగా మారింది. ఇప్పుడు  ఆ చెత్త పన్ను చెత్త నిర్ణయం నుంచి బాబు సర్కారు ప్రజలకు విముక్తి కల్పించారు.

కేంద్రం గతంలో ఏ గాంధీజీ జయంతి రోజున స్వచ్ఛభారత్ ఉద్యమాన్ని ప్రారంభించారో.. అదే గాంధీ జయంతి రో జున ముఖ్యమంత్రి చంద్రబాబునాయుడు ఒకవైపు స్వచ్ఛభారత్ కు పునరంకితం అవుతూనే.. రాష్ట్రంలో చెత్త పన్నును ఎత్తివేస్తున్నట్టు ప్రకటించడం విశేషం.

జగన్ సర్కారు చెత్త పన్ను విధించినప్పుడు గ్రామాలు, పట్టణాలు అనే తేడాలేకుండా ప్రతి చోటా ఈ నిర్ణయం పట్ల విపరీతమైన వ్యతిరేకత వచ్చింది. ప్రభుత్వం తీరును ప్రజలు దుమ్మెత్తిపోశారు. చెత్త పన్నుకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పలు ఆందోళనలు జరిగినప్పటికీ కూడా  జగన్ ప్రభుత్వం పట్టించుకోలేదు. ఈ విషయంలో చంద్రబాబునాయుడు ఎన్నికలకు ముందే ఈ పన్ను ఎత్తివేస్తానని హామీ ఇచ్చారు.

KTR slaps a legal notice on Konda Surekha

Telangana politics hit a new low with the latest war of words between the ruling Congress party and the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samiti party. It all started with an incident where Medak MP and BJP Raghunandan Rao garlanded Konda Surekha in a recent public event. Using a picture of the both, BRS supporters resorted to a vicious campaign against Konda Surekha. She emotionally broke down and launched a scathing counterattack, making baseless allegations.

Surekha’s comments have triggered a massive controversy as she alleged that KTR was the reason behind the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. She also claimed that KTR blackmailed Nagarjuna over N Convention and involved Samantha unnecessarily in her statements.  Her comments have drawn a sharp response from all quarters. Nagarjuna and Samantha immediately condemned these vulgar and cheap comments and asked her to refrain from dragging them into politics. 

Now, KTR slapped a legal notice on Surekha for her insensitive remarks. He demanded retraction of her statements and a public apology within 24 hours, failing which she would face a legal action, including defamation and criminal cases. KTR condemned Surekha for using the names of celebrities to further her political agenda. 

The Congress government and Surekha are yet to respond on the issue which sparked a huge political backlash and also outraged the general public for the senseless comments.
