Rapaka Varaprasad To Resign From YSRCP

Rapaka Varaprasad, former MLA from Razole constituency in Andhra Pradesh, has announced that he will soon resign from the YSR Congress party. Amid rumours that he is planning to seek shelter again under Janasena after deserting the party in 2019, Rapaka clarified the has not made any such attempts so far and also denied the claims that he will rejoin in it.

Rapaka surprised everyone when he appeared in the meeting of Janasena party on Sunday afternoon in Konaseema district. His presence at the event sparked widespread outrage among Janasena supporters and there has been a huge discussion that he might come back into the party. Janasena supporters started attacking Rapaka and also the party high command for allowing him to take part in the meeting. However, he later clarified that he hasn’t announced his decision to join Janasena again.

Rapaka Varaprasad is the sole MLA of Janasena in 2019 when the party suffered a humiliating defeat. Immediately after the first assembly session, he defected into the ruling YSR Congress party and also criticised Pawan Kalyan and this infuriated Janasena supporters. Pawan Kalyan also openly condemned Rapaka’s betrayal. He was later suspended from the party.

In 2024, Rapaka didn’t get ticket from Razole as Jagan fielded TDP’s Gollapalli Surya Rao under YSR Congress party ticket. Rapaka expressed disappointment over denial of MLA ticket and decided to quit the party. But, he was offered MP ticket from Amalapuram Loksabha by YSRCP. However, he lost to TDP’s Ganti Harish.

Now, he decided to resign from the party. In a video byte released just a while ago, Rapaka stated that he was unwillingly fielded as MP by Jagan and said that he knew the result even before the elections. As Janasena doors are closed for Rapaka, he might choose to join TDP or BJP.

Janasena MLA from Razole Devi Varaprasad clarified that Rapaka attended the meeting just to express his support for the lecturers of Malikipuram college, but there is no political angle in his presence there.

Chiranjeevi Receives A Game-Changing Offer From Chandrababu

Significant political developments are taking shape in Andhra Pradesh. As the campaign for simultaneous (Jamili) elections heats up, Chandrababu Naidu is making strategic moves. He is determined to maintain the alliance for the next elections. Reportedly, Chandrababu has made an important proposal to Megastar Chiranjeevi, with the aim of further strengthening the successful “Mega” formula from the previous elections, sparking discussions within the party.

Megastar Chiranjeevi recently paid a visit to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, where he handed over a ₹1 crore cheque for flood relief efforts in the state. This marked their first meeting since Chiranjeevi attended Naidu’s swearing-in ceremony. Sources suggest that apart from discussing flood relief measures, there were conversations about Pawan Kalyan’s political activities. Moreover, it’s rumored that Chandrababu presented an intriguing proposal, inviting Chiranjeevi to collaborate on future initiatives, signaling a potential alliance or partnership in upcoming ventures.

According to party insiders, Naidu has approached Chiranjeevi with a request to contribute towards the growth of the film industry in Andhra Pradesh, including setting up studios and promoting tourism. Given Chiranjeevi’s prior role as Union Minister of Tourism, Naidu wants him to act as the state’s brand ambassador. There are also talks of giving Chiranjeevi a prominent position with considerable importance in this collaboration.

Chiranjeevi remains a significant figure in the film industry, currently occupied with several movie projects. In the past, during Jagan’s time as Chief Minister, he actively engaged with the government to tackle the challenges faced by the film sector. However, after those efforts, he chose to focus entirely on his cinematic career.

Now Chandrababu Naidu recognizes the value of leveraging Chiranjeevi’s influence and popularity, suggesting that if given an appropriate position, he could play a vital role in bridging the gap between the film industry and government.

Naidu is reportedly considering providing Chiranjeevi with a significant role that could serve both the film industry and future political ambitions. The question remains whether Chiranjeevi is prepared to step into this potential new chapter, combining his film career with political engagement.

CID Takes Charge: Trouble Looms For YSRCP Leaders

The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a bold step by transferring two critical cases to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). These cases involve attacks on the residence of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the office of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) during the tenure of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). As investigations into these incidents unfold, the government aims to delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the attacks and identify the masterminds behind them. By moving these cases to the CID, officials are signaling their commitment to a thorough investigation and the pursuit of justice for those affected. This decision underscores the government’s intent to address the issues stemming from the political unrest and hold accountable those responsible for the violence.

At present, both cases are under the jurisdiction of the Mangalagiri police. Several leaders implicated in these incidents have already been interrogated by law enforcement. Notably, former MP Nandigam Suresh has been detained in connection with the attack on the TDP office. Meanwhile, others involved have secured anticipatory bail from the Supreme Court and have been served notices for further questioning by the police.

The police have already questioned former minister Jogi Ramesh regarding the attack on Chandrababu Naidu’s residence. Both cases involve several leaders from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) from Krishna and Guntur districts. Prominent party figure Sajjala has sought the aid of the High Court in connection with these incidents. With the transfer of these cases to the CID, it appears that YSRCP leaders believed to be involved are under increasing pressure.

AP Impose `Additional Privilege Fee’ on IMPL Liquor

Making western-style hard liquors Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) bottles costlier, the Andhra Pradesh state government

I has made an amendment imposing an additional privilege fee on it. After obtaining approval from the Governor, Excise Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena revealed this fee.

Under the additional privilege fee, the MRP price has been revised by increasing it to the next Rs 10 instead of retail. If the price of a bottle MRP is Rs.150.50 then it will be Rs. 160. Meena said that if the price of a quarter bottle is Rs.90.50, the price will be Rs.100 including APF. As per government orders, the price of a quarter bottle is Rs. 99, he said it will be sold after deducting from Rs 100.

Meanwhile, the deadline for receipt of liquor applications in the state ended at 7.00 pm on Friday. The government received 65,424 applications for a total of 3,396 liquor shops in the state. Through these liquor applications, the government got an income of Rs.1,308 crores.

Most applications have been received in NTR district. 4,839 people have applied for a total of 113 liquor shops in the district. Alluri district received the least number of 869 for 40 shops. Officials explained that 20 applications have been received from the US and Europe.

On the 14th of this month, the officials will draw a lottery for the liquor shops. The new liquor policy will be implemented from the 16th. The previous YCP government sold substandard liquor in government shops for five years and ruined the health of drug addicts. With the high prices, the then government officials poured thousands of crores rupees across the board.

However, the coalition government has recently approved this policy and again issued a notification for the establishment of private liquor shops. Officials are making arrangements to allocate liquor shops through a lottery system.

However, reports are coming out that at several places leaders of both ruling coalition and YCP are colluding, forming into a syndicate and threatening those applied for liquor shops.

Some MLAs have stepped up their efforts threatening applicants that they should be given some share, even if they were not applicants.

They are reportedly negotiating that they will give the investment money as a percentage share under their share.  MLAs, their sons and followers are trying to get shares with the syndicate.  They are assuring that they will give protection from the government even if they sold liquor violating MRP norms.

Chandrababu want To Make AP As Drone capital of India

Known for his unparalleled capacity of adopting new technologies among his contemporary politicians in the country, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been making moves with an ambitious target of making Andhra Pradesh as Drone capital of the country.

The strategic plan to make AP a center not only for the use of drones but also for manufacturing will be presented in a two-day national conference to be held in Mangalagiri on 22nd and 23rd of this month. Many countries are achieving excellent results by effectively using the technology of drones.

The Narendra Modi government is also planning to make India a drone manufacturing hub by 2030 under the slogan of Atma Nirbhar Bharat. There are huge opportunities for the use of drones in 14 sectors like defence, technology, agriculture, revenue, panchayat, electricity, roads, disaster management.

Chandrababu Naidu hopes to grab this opportunity before anyone else and turn AP into the capital of drones. Drones Corporation has already been set up specifically for governance, disaster management, and effective use of drone technology in people’s daily lives to achieve successful results.

As a part of this, Amaravati Drone Summit 2024 is being organized in Mangalagiri. Experts from Mumbai, Tirupati and Hyderabad IITs, domestic and foreign technical experts with vast experience in the field of drones will be invited to the conference.

Very recently, CM Chandrababu has received praise across the country for using drones effectively in the recent Vijayawada floods for relief activities. In this context, the government hopes to promote this sector more. It is estimated that around 5 lakh job opportunities can be created.

Discussions will be held with intellectuals and technical experts in the conference on the challenges faced in this direction. On the occasion of the inauguration of the Amaravati Drone Summit, the government is making arrangements for a huge demonstration at Krishna Beach in Vijayawada.

So far, the highest show in the country has been organized with 2000 drones, while the AP government wants to create a record by organizing a mega show with 5000 drones. Hackathon competitions will be organized and prizes will be given to the enthusiasts. Already 80 drone enthusiasts have registered for this competition.

Political storm In Maharashtra After NCP Leader Baba Siddiqui shot Dead

The brutal killing of senior Maharashtra politician and NCP’s former minister Baba Siddiqui has been creating political uproar in the state, which is about to go for assembly polls. The opposition has been demanding resignation of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, owing moral responsibility.

Mumbai police have confirmed the involvement of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in the killing of three-time MLA Baba Siddique on Saturday night. Despite Y-level category security, Siddique was shot dead by three assailants — two of whom have been detained.  Many suspecting his close association with Super Star Salman Khan may be leading to this murder.

His son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique is not allowing for a postmortem to be conducted till there is “clarity on the motive”, police said on Sunday morning. Condemning the incident, leaders across Opposition parties, including the Congress, have sought accountability from the Shinde-led government for “growing criminal activities” in the state.

Many leaders, including Sharad Pawar, have demanded the resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis.   Attacking the Mahayuti government in the state, Congress leader and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi lamented that this horrifying incident exposes the complete collapse of law and order in Maharashtra. He demanded that the government must take responsibility and justice must prevail.

The incident took place as Siddique was leaving his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East and was entering his car.  According to the police, the assailants fired around six to seven rounds at him of which two bullets hit him in the chest, and one hit him in the abdomen.

He sustained multiple serious injuries and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he was pronounced dead during treatment. Siddique was elected as a Congress MLA thrice and represented the Bandra West constituency from 1999 until 2014; he served as a minister in the Congress-NCP government from 2004 to 2008.

Baba Siddiqui was not only dominant in the political world but also in the film world. The news of Baba Siddiqui’s murder has caused a wave of mourning in the entire Bollywood industry. As soon as the news of the death of the veteran politician was received, many Bollywood celebrities and politicians reached Lilavati Hospital, where Baba Siddiqui was admitted after being shot.  Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt super star Salman Khan and many others reached the hospital.

Syamala Replacing Roja In YSRCP ?

Popular Television anchor and Tollywood character artist Syamala plunged into full time politics just before the recent assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. She openly advocated her support to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSR Congress party during her media interactions and also made harsh comments on both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. With her stance against Pawa, Syamala made it very clear that she won’t be affected with losing chances in Tollywood both as an anchor and an actor.

For the loyalty displayed by Syamala, YS Jagan nominated her as one of the four official spokespersons of the party a few ago. Since then, Syamala has been very active on social media and proactively taking the fight against the Telugu Desam Party and Janasena followers. She is regularly making videos and interacting with the media to criticize the government without any fear.

YSR Congress party now needs dynamic and efficient speakers. They paid a heavy price by allowing MLAs and MPs to speak in an aggressive and abusive manner. The party can no longer encourage such a bad tradition and needs to change its strategies if it aims to make a strong comeback in the next elections. Jagan recognised Syamala’s hard work and fearless approach in addressing the issues.

In the last ten years, Roja Selvamani was the firebrand lady politician of YSRCP. But, she gained bad reputation with her foul language and bad mouth on opponents. She often crossed the line and faced the ire of the same party supporters.

After facing an ignominious defeat in 2024 elections, Roja went into political oblivion for some days. She recently made a comeback and tried to launch a counter attack against the ruling party. Unfortunately, there is not much traction for her speeches. Though she is also one of the official spokespersons along with Syamala and two others, Roja is hardly appearing before the media. She is only confined to releasing videos on buring issues.

So, Syamala is likely to projected as the key representative of the party for official briefings from now onwards. There are rumours that Jagan might reward Syamala with a bigger role in the party and may also grant her ticket in next elections. She might replace Roja’s position in the party.
