Amit alleged deal between former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his sister and APCC chief YS Sharmila over property sharing, she again targetter her brother and described him as `adopted son of Prime Minister Modi’.

It may be recalled some time back, union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman stating Prime Minister Modi’s affection towards Jagan during her Anantapur district tour, said he is `like an adopted son of Modi’.

While father Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy had strongly opposed `communal BJP’ throughout his life, she deplored that Jagan became the `adopted son’ of the same BJP. Moreover, she cautioned sympathizers and followers of her father and said  it will be a mistake to believe such a person will remember the aspirations of her father.

Referring to YSR’s `Manasa Putrika’ (adopted daughter) scheme fee reimbursement, a prestigious one implemented brilliantly by the Congress government during her father’s tenure, she laneted that his own son Jaganmohan Reddy has watered down the scheme during his regime. It was hailed as a great scheme that brought light to the lives of the poor children and produced many engineers and doctors, she added.

Sharmila said that Jagan’s regime messed with their lives by not paying the dues and made the parents feel sad. But, she alleged that he paid his attention mainly towards  looting and hiding, and did not pay attention to the welfare of the students. On the other hand, she expressed concern that the present coalition government has completely neglected this popular scheme.

If what YCP has done was a big sin, she said that what the alliance government is doing to the students is a curse. In the matter of fee reimbursement, Sharmla advised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu that it is the government’s responsibility to release the arrears, no matter who paid them. She demanded that the pending funds be released immediately and the scheme should be seen without any hindrance.
