Y.V. Subba Reddy Explains Jagan’s NCLT Action Against Sharmila

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP Y.V. Subba Reddy has shed light on the legal troubles faced by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, revealing that he had to approach the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) after his sister, Sharmila, allegedly transferred shares of Saraswati Cements into their mother, Vijayamma’s name without the family’s knowledge. This controversial transfer took place while the shares were under the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) attachment and amid ongoing legal proceedings in the High Court.

Subba Reddy attributed Jagan’s incarceration to the actions of the Congress party and indicated that Sharmila’s involvement was part of a conspiracy orchestrated by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He emphasized that Jagan’s decision to file a case in the NCLT was a protective measure in light of these challenging circumstances. Additionally, he refuted claims made by some media outlets, asserting that there is no intention to involve his mother or sister in the ongoing legal battles.

The MP further explained that the agreement concerning the assets, which Jagan wished to give to his sister out of love and respect, was formulated a decade after the passing of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He questioned the necessity of such an agreement after so long if genuine familial feelings were absent. According to Subba Reddy, the assets mentioned in the agreement represent Jagan’s hard-earned wealth, and Sharmila signed the document only after a thorough review. He also pointed out that during his lifetime, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had already designated certain assets to both Jagan and Sharmila.

Subba Reddy raised concerns about Sharmila’s motives behind her recent comments in the media regarding the assets she claims, citing her prior agreement with Jagan. He criticized her for seeking to transfer the assets without addressing the legal ramifications. Notably, he highlighted that Sharmila had no involvement in the development of these assets in the decade following their father’s death.

In a pointed inquiry, Subba Reddy questioned why the ED and CBI had only pursued cases against Jagan and not against Sharmila if she truly believed she had a legitimate claim to the assets.

Moreover, Subba Reddy clarified the matter of dividends, stating that they are typically distributed only to shareholders in companies. He noted that Jagan had transferred dividends received as a director to Sharmila. he pointed out that neither Sharmila nor her husband held director positions in any companies during Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s lifetime. He emphasized that had Jagan intended to include Sharmila as a director in the companies established during their father’s life, he would have willingly shared his stake with her.

In conclusion, Subba Reddy stated that there was no reason for Jagan to be dishonest regarding these issues, reinforcing the integrity of the family’s dealings amidst the unfolding legal drama.

Actress gets relief in Sushanth Rajput Case

Bollywood actor Sushanth Rajput committed suicide in 2020 and the reason for his death remains a mystery even till today. Following a complaint by his family members in Patna in the same year, the case was transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation. However, nothing concrete on why he took such a drastic step has been found so far.

It was alleged that Sushanth’s girl friend and Bollywood heroine Rhea Chakraborty might be the primary reason for his death. Later, Rhea Chakraborty and her family were questioned in an alleged money laundering case linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The Enforcement Directorate’s probe, focussed on her income, investments and professional deals, was initiated after Mr Rajput’s family alleged that she illegally transferred ₹ 15 crore in tranches from his account and drove him to suicide.

The CBI had issued lookout circulars against Ms Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, her father Lt. Colonel Indrajit Chakraborty and her mother Sandhya Chakraborty. This came after Sushant Singh Rajput’s family filed an FIR in Patna, seeking a probe into his death.

Rhea Chakraborty approached Bombay High Court for relief and it had quashed the lookout circulars, citing the lack of reasons to issue the same. Further, the Bench had maintained that the actor and her family had roots in the society and had also cooperated with investigating agencies.

The Supreme Court on Friday upheld the Bombay High Court’s decision to cancel CBI’s lookout circular issued against them following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The Bench accused the CBI, state of Maharashtra and Bureau of Immigration for challenging the Bombay High Court’s decision just because the accused are from a high-profile background.

A bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan called the petition was “frivolous”. Justice Gavai said, “We are warning you. You are filing such a frivolous petition, only because one of the accused is a high-profile person. It will be dismissed with exemplary cost. Both persons have deep roots in society.”

This decision by Supreme Court came as a big relief for Rhea Chakraborty and her family who have been facing acute mental agony and deep embarassment from the last four years.

Stating that it is a time to celebrate the sanction of key railway projects for AP, BJP state president and MP D Purandeswari said that as expected the state is moving forward in development due to emergence of `double engine sarkar’.

She welcomed the announcement made by union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan about the sanction of new railway line from Yerrabalem to Number, connecting capital city Amaravati, for a distance of 57 KMs, at a cost of Rs 2,245 crore.

Purandeshwari recalled that the BJP has been ensuring from the beginning that Amaravati is the capital and the Center is also endorsing the same. She also is happy that under the leadership of CM Chandrababu, farmers are coming forward to give land for the railway line.

The former union minister said that BJP targeted to achieve `Vikasit Bharat 2047’, for which a `Vikasit Andhra Pradesh 2047’ is also an integral and crucial component. After announcing the union cabinet decision of sanctioning the Amaravati connecting railway line, she recalled that the union minister Ashwani Vaishnav also promised to complete the new railway line within four years.

She said that the center has decided to connect the capital Amaravati with a railway line only after realizing that construction of the capital city Amaravati is a dream project for the people of AP. She said that this railway line will connect Amaravati with all major cities of the country through a railway network. The construction of the new railway line will generate 19 lakh man-days and create employment potential to several people.

Bolisetty Sathyanarayana’s Stinging Reply To Jagan’s Comment on Pawan

During his tenure as Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy frequently hurled volleys of often-personalized criticisms at the opposition leader and the head of the Jana Sena party, Pawan Kalyan. Most of these revolved around his marriages and private life, which caused discomfort to the members of Jagan’s own party on account of the appropriateness of these statements. Yet Jagan did not stop there. Notably, since his party’s defeat in the just concluded elections, he hasn’t uttered a word about Pawan Kalyan.

During a recent visit to Vizianagaram, Jagan finally broke his silence, comparing Pawan Kalyan to a “dattaputra” for the first time after elections. This, as one would expect, threw wind into the embattled fires he had reignited with those words during the campaign itself. In revenge, Jana Sena leaders are now venting their frustration unabashedly.

Jana Sena leader Bolisetty Sathyanarayana has lashed out at the statement of Jagan with a very emotive social media post. He says that Jagan has two correct addresses: one in prison and the other in a mental hospital. Sathyanarayana cautioned Jagan, “If you call Pawan Kalyan as dattaputra again, then you are ready to face fatal consequences.”

Story:

Set in the 1980s, the story unfolds in the picturesque rural landscape of Telangana, specifically in the Adilabad-Nizamabad region, within the village of Gurram Gattu. Here, a significant cultural tradition revolves around offering a pottel as a sacrifice to the village goddess, Balamma. The responsibility of overseeing this sacred pottel falls upon Gangadhari, a shepherd portrayed by Yuva Chandra, who is mistakenly perceived as mentally unstable.

Contrary to this misconception, Gangadhari is astutely aware of the village’s complex social dynamics. He recognizes the deceit of the Patel ( Ajay), who manipulates the villagers by claiming to be possessed by the spirit of Goddess Balamma. This ruse allows Patel to exert control over the community for his gain. Another villager, Bujjamma, played by Ananya Nagalla, sees through Patel’s deception and eventually marries Gangadhari, supporting him in their collective struggle.

Despite facing Patel’s oppressive regulations that bar backward and scheduled castes from accessing education, Gangadhari remains steadfast in his commitment to educate his daughter. He works diligently to provide her with opportunities that he himself was denied. However, turmoil erupts when the sacred pottel mysteriously disappears. In a chilling turn of events, Patel and the villagers threaten that if Gangadhari cannot retrieve the pottel, they will sacrifice his daughter to the goddess.

The story chronicles Gangadhari’s frantic quest to recover the pottel while simultaneously advocating for his daughter’s education. Can he unravel the mystery behind the pottel’s disappearance and fulfill his dream of providing a better future for his daughter amidst such daunting challenges?

Review:

Yuva Chandra Krishna makes a striking debut in the film industry with his role as Gangadhar, displaying an impressive emotional depth that captivates viewers. His performance is both poignant and engaging as he portrays the challenges of family life, his steadfast dedication to education, and the oppressive influence of the Patel clan. Through subtle expressions and body language, Krishna effectively conveys Gangadhar’s journey through pain, grief, and helplessness. His sincere dialogue delivery further enriches the character, inviting the audience to connect deeply with his story and struggles.

Ananya Nagalla brings a genuine touch to her character, expertly portraying the nuanced emotions and evolving dynamics within the story. Her performance enhances the film’s authenticity and engages the audience. Meanwhile, Ajay delivers a standout performance with his commanding presence, instilling a sense of fear and authority in every scene. His powerful delivery heightens the tension surrounding his character, establishing him as a formidable force in the narrative. Together, their performances significantly elevate the film, making it a compelling watch.

Noel Sean brings depth to the story as Ananya’s brother, adding richness to their sibling dynamics. Priyanka Sharma shines in her role as Ajay’s wife, while Srikanth Iyengar delivers an authentic portrayal of the school teacher, grounding the narrative in reality. Thanasvi Chowdhary captivates the audience with her charming depiction of Gangadhar’s innocent daughter. The film’s supporting cast, including Chatrapathi Sekhar, Riyaz, and Vikram, also deliver noteworthy performances that enhance the overall storytelling, making a significant contribution to the film’s emotional and narrative impact.

Sahit Mothkhuri’s script powerfully underscores the protagonist’s steadfast commitment to his daughter’s education, showcasing his relentless determination despite the challenges posed by a formidable antagonist. This dedication not only propels the storyline forward but also emphasizes the critical role education plays in overcoming adversity.

The film skillfully captures the essence of village life, immersing viewers in authentic settings and dialogues that reflect the innocence and struggles of the local community. However, this authenticity sometimes leads to drawbacks; the repetition of certain scenes and exchanges, especially between the protagonist and antagonist, can create a feeling of monotony. Although Ajay delivers a strong performance as the antagonist, his numerous appearances and the graphic violence associated with his character might deter family audiences.

The film effectively tackles significant themes like education, superstition, and oppression. However, its dependence on a predictable plot and an overemphasis on violence diminish its overall impact. While Sekhar Chandra’s music complements the film’s atmosphere, it lacks a memorable quality that would elevate it further. Additionally, the editing could be more precise; the pacing drags in several parts of both halves, disrupting the narrative flow. A tighter editing approach would enhance the film’s capacity to deliver its vital messages more powerfully.

“Pottel” doesn’t fully realize its potential, primarily due to its predictable narrative and an overreliance on violence. While the film successfully highlights the vital theme of education. But its slow pacing and repetitive sequences detract from its overall impact. Ajay delivers an outstanding performance, marking a career high for him; however, the film’s flow is hampered by its sluggish tempo. Reducing the violence and addressing the predictability could greatly enhance “Pottel’s” overall effectiveness and create a more memorable viewing experience.

Telangana Congress Funding Maharashtra, Jharkhand Elections

.As Congress is heading governments in only three states, of which only Telangana and Karnataka are potential to mobilise financial resources, these two states are said to be funding for the party to face elections in various parts of the country. During recent elections in both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, Congress governments in these two states have reportedly provided huge resources towards poll campaigns.

Likewise, for the ongoing elections in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand also the burden of funding poll expenses is said to be leveled on these two states Congress leaders. As Congress is in deep crisis in Karnataka on one side with severe corruption allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and state government facing severe financial crisis to fund its poll promises, most of the burden is said to be passed on Telangana Congress leaders.

In Telangana Congress besides chief minister Revanth Reddy, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is said to be playing a key role in funding party campaigns in other states. Moreover, for Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll, from where party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is contesting also Telangana Congress asked to provide resources.

These charges, levelled by different quarters, are not new, but they add to the growing scrutiny of the party’s financial dealings, especially in the wake of the Musi River rejuvenation project being taken up at a mammoth Rs 1.5 lakh crore.

Maharashtra’s Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to seal the borders of Maharashtra with Karnataka and Telangana, alleging that hundreds of crores of rupees were flowing from these Congress-ruled States into Maharashtra.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Kiran Pawaskar stated that individuals from Karnataka and Telangana were allegedly tasked with transporting large sums of money into Maharashtra to influence the Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar also alleged that funds from Telangana were being used to finance elections in other States like Haryana, Delhi, and Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the HYDRA system is a key extortion method for funds from realtors where HYDRA is targeting properties of the poor and the middle-class but not the constructions of major real estate firms and elite properties.

The video of Congress top leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra among others getting down from a helicopter went viral on social media last week. Opposition parties were quick to point out that the Gandhis were using the same helicopter hired by the Congress government in Telangana for official purposes including district visits of several Ministers.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal made the announcement on X on Thursday evening. “In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, Hon’ble President, after consultation with Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Judge of the Supreme Court of India as Chief Justice of India with effect from 11th November, 2024,” Meghwal wrote.

His appointment to the Supreme Court stirred controversy, as he bypassed 33 senior judges in both age and experience. However, the issue subsided within a few months of his appointment. Before his Supreme Court appointment, Khanna also served as a judge in the Delhi High Court for 14 years. He is known for his expertise in taxation, commercial laws, and has authored numerous critical judgments over the past two decades.

Born on May 14, 1960, Khanna earned his law degree from Delhi University and began practising in 1983. Initially starting in Delhi’s district courts, he later shifted to the Delhi High Court and tribunals, working on constitutional law, arbitration, direct taxes, company law, land laws, and environmental law, among other areas.

Chandrababu says A special Task Force To Deal with National Highway projects In AP

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that a special task force will be set up to deal with the challenges, land acquisition and legal issues faced in the construction of national highway projects in the state.

He said that the government will announce an immediate action plan to coordinate with the key officials of this task force so that the 129 projects that are currently in operation as well as the Rs.30,000 crore road projects to be undertaken in the future are completed smoothly without any problems.

The Chief Minister conducted a review on  the construction of national highways in the state, including 260 km with land acquisition and other issues. Officials reported to the CM that 11 projects worth Rs.4,766 crore are pending.

In the review meeting, Chandrababu promised to solve the land acquisition issues within 3 months. He said that the task force will include officials from National Highway, Forest, Railway, Revenue and R&B. In addition to this, a special web portal will be made available to report all the problems on a single platform and provide immediate solutions.

He said that the contract agencies can take the sand required for the national highways under construction for free and arrangements will be made in this regard. Also, the CM assured that the gravel permits will be made easier.

The CM suggested looking into the possibilities of storing water in the form of a watershed at the construction of huge bridges in road projects. Due to this, he said the underground water level will increase. It said that Rs.252.42 crore is being sanctioned for the development of roads in AP.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that a 6-row elevated corridor will be constructed at Ranasthalam in Srikakulam district. He said that funds have been sanctioned for the construction of the elevated corridor through social media. Details related to this have been revealed.

On the other hand, the Center has already sanctioned Rs. 400 crore  for the development of roads which are crucial for the development of Andhra Pradesh. A few days ago, Nitin Gadkari announced that Rs 400 crore has been sanctioned from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund for the development of 200.06 km long 13 state roads in AP. It was announced that approval has been given to construct a 4-lane ROB on the Guntur-Nallapadu railway route at a cost of Rs 98 crore.
