In Andhra Pradesh, the political rivalry between Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his sister Y.S. Sharmila is intensifying. Sharmila, the president of the state’s Congress party, has ramped up her criticism of her brother, urging him to either attend the Assembly or resign if he continues to neglect his duties.

Today, Sharmila accused Jagan of evading the Assembly sessions and labeled his behavior as neglectful, questioning his commitment to public service. She criticized the state budget, claiming it was ineffective and did not serve the public. She pointed out that Congress had already addressed these concerns before Jagan echoed similar sentiments, calling attention to the YSRCP’s lack of progress despite its 40% vote share.

Sharmila further challenged Jagan, stating that his refusal to engage with the Assembly and tackle key issues was diminishing the relevance of the YSRCP. She suggested that if party leaders are not willing to take a stand in the Assembly, they should resign and allow for a new, more active leadership. She also called for a detailed discussion on the allocation of funds for the Super Six schemes, urging the YSRCP to take a stronger position on issues affecting the public.

Sharmila’s remarks are fueling a growing political divide as she pushes her brother to either prove his leadership by engaging in the Assembly or step down to make way for someone more committed to the people’s welfare.

Chandrababu Firm To complete Godavari- Krishna- Penna river Interlinking project

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu  is working hard to make the Godavari- Krishna- Penna river interlinking process, which has been in the proposal stage for many years, operational. Despite financial problems, he is focusing on calculating the viability of this project. He is planning to provide drinking and irrigation water to the four districts of Rayalaseema as well as the Prakasam and Nellore districts on the south coast.

Alternative proposals are being discussed for this. According to these, the surplus water of Godavari from the Polavaram main right canal will be diverted to the Krishna river at the rate of two TMC per day (during the season). It will be diverted from Vaikuntapuram near the Prakasam barrage to Bollapalli in the joint Guntur district through new canals.

A reservoir will be constructed there and from there it will be taken to Banakacherla in the joint Prakasam district via Nallamala. From there, it will be sent to Somasila, Telugu Ganga, Galeru- Nagari, Handreeniva and irrigate Rayalaseema, Nellore and Prakasam districts. It is known that the Pattiseema project was undertaken by the previous TDP government to divert Godavari waters to Prakasam barrage through the Polavaram right main canal.

Based on the current canal capacity, 17,561 cusecs of water can be diverted to the Krishna Delta. The Water Resources Department has stated that by increasing the current canal capacity, 23,113 cusecs can be diverted. It has also been said that if the canal is dug to a depth of five to six meters, it will be possible to divert 40,674 cusecs daily.

Meanwhile, the Water Resources Department has also examined another proposal to divert Godavari waters by digging a new canal parallel to the Polavaram right main canal. It is said that since this canal is being dug newly, it can be constructed to the required depth and lining. It has stated that the water from Godavari will be able to flow faster to the final area by lifting it to Krishna at a height of 90 meters. However, it has been stated that 10,000 acres of land will have to be acquired for the excavation of this canal, which is very difficult.

The Water Resources Department has prepared proposals to transfer Godavari water from the Bollapalli reservoir to the Banakacherla head regulator via Nallamala. It is said that by implementing this scheme, 22 TMC can be supplied to the Veligonda project.

It is expected that 140 TMC can be transferred from the Banakacherla complex to the Telugu Ganga, Galeru-Nagari and Handreeniva projects. In total, 180 TMC of Godavari water can be transferred from the Bollapalli reservoir to the Banakacherla head regulator, according to Water Resources Department officials.

It was estimated that the surplus Godavari water can be transferred to Rayalaseema and South Coast districts as much as possible through the excavation and expansion of canals. It has been stated that 75.1 TMC of Godavari water can be lifted in 121 days through the currently available projects, reservoirs and canals under construction.

విమర్శలు కాదు కదా.. అసభ్యత నిండిన పోస్టులు పెడుతున్న వైసీపీ కార్యకర్తల మీద ఇప్పటి ప్రభుత్వం కేసులు నమోదుచేస్తూ ఉంటే.. జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి తీవ్రస్థాయిలో గగ్గోలు పెడుతున్నారు. తమ కార్యకర్తలను వేధిస్తున్నారని అంటున్నారు. అరెస్టులు జరిగితే అవి తనతోనే మొదలు కావాలని జగన్ సవాళ్లు విసురుతున్నారు. కానీ.. ఆయన ప్రభుత్వ కాలంలో తెదేపా వారిని ఏ రీతిగా వేధిచారో తెలుసుకోవడానికి విడదల రజని ఉదాహరణ సరిపోతుందని ప్రజలు అంటున్నారు.

Chilakaluripet MLA Vidadala Rajini has enjoyed a great clout during YCP regime being minister of the district and having direct access to party top leadership. It may be recalled that present deputy speaker Raghuramakrishnam Raju alleged that when he was resorted to custodial torture during YCP regime, the same was showed to the then CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy through mobile by senior police officers.

It seems, Rajini also followed her leader in true spirit. According to a complaint lodged with Palnadu SP Kanchi Srinivasarao by Chilakaluripet ITDP leaders, during the YCP regime they were illegally arrested and tortured at the police station asking them to keep away from TDP. Moreover, they accused that while torturing them, the police made a live telecast over a WhatsApp call to the minister Rajini.

Along with former minister Vidadala Rajini, ITDP leaders have also complained against her PA Ramakrishna and Jaya Phanindra Kumar, as well as Suryanarayana, who previously worked as the Chilakaluripet Urban CI.

They have alleged in the complaint that false allegations were made against them for posting morphing posts against the government on social media during the previous government’s tenure. They have alleged that they were illegally detained and harassed.

Chilakaluripet constituency ITDP president Pilli Koteswara Rao in his  complaint alleged that they used to show the videos on WhatsApp to Vidadala Rajini and her PAs, while torturing them. He urged them to register a case against them and take suitable action for their misuse of power during the previous regime.

On the other hand, the police are currently cracking down on those who post obscene and objectionable posts on social media across Andhra Pradesh. Cases are being registered against those who post inappropriate posts on political leaders as well as women in their families.  Arrests are also being made in many places. In this context, the Palnadu SP has received this complaint against former minister Vidadala Rajini and it is interesting to see how he will move forward in this case.

Nara Lokesh says Mega DSC only After Resolution of Legal Disputes

Education Minister Nara Lokesh made it clear  that they will be filled through DSC only after the legal disputes are resolved. He said that a mega DSC was recently announced to fill over 16,000 teacher posts. He was responding to the questions raised by BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju and others in the Assembly related to the 1998 DSC.

 Lokesh stated that 18,008 of the 1998 DSC passers were appointed. After that, he said that 3939 posts were filled through MTS out of the 4,534 pending posts and 595 more posts are to be filled. He explained that candidates appointed under MTS will not have any retirement benefits as per the rules. Their retirement age is 60 years.

On the other hand, legislators Butchaiah Chaudhary and Bonda Uma asked questions on pending educational institutions under the AP Reorganization Act. Minister Lokesh alleged that the work was delayed by five years by changing the location of the Tribal University during the previous government’s tenure. He made it clear  that the Central Tribal University will be completed in the next two years at the same location decided in 2019.

Lokesh explained that between 2014-19, Chandrababu Naidu gave priority to decentralization of development, with a sector-wise focus on the basis of combined districts. He said that Kia was brought to Anantapur district, electronics in Chittoor, Nellore wind turbine, Kurnool renewable energy, Aqua in Ubhaya Godavari, and Uttarandhra IT, medical device and pharmaceutical industries were promoted.

Lokesh revealed that the educational institutions allotted to the state were also set up in different areas. They were allotted to IIT Tirupati, IIM Visakhapatnam, NIT Tadepalligudem, Triple IT Kurnool, and Central University Anantapur.  

He explained that lands were allotted to IIT Tirupati on August 9, 2016 itself and work started. Lokesh reminded that 172 acres were allotted to NIT Tadepalligudem on April 16, 2016, 240 acres to IIM Visakhapatnam on April 16, 2016, 491 acres to Central University Anantapur on April 16, 2016, 255 acres to Eicher, and lands were also allotted to Triple IT at that time.

Lokesh recalled that CM Chandrababu Naidu not only allocated lands on a war footing but also ensured that funds from the central government would come and reviewed the progress of the works every month. On the other hand, Lokesh clarified that efforts will be made to immediately resolve the pending issues of roads, drinking water and other infrastructure in the respective educational institutions.

In the Lagcherla attack case in Vikarabad district, former MLA Patnam Narender Reddy reportedly provided a statement, as outlined in the police remand report. During questioning, Reddy allegedly disclosed KTR’s involvement, claiming that KTR had directed efforts to destabilize the government by inciting the main accused, Suresh. Police have confiscated Narender Reddy’s cell phone.

Authorities have requested court permission to analyze the phone’s call data. Between September 1 and the date of the attack, police identified 84 calls exchanged between Narender Reddy and Suresh, with a single call occurring on the day of the incident.

The remand report asserts that Narender Reddy played a crucial role in orchestrating the conspiracy behind the Lagcherla attack, providing necessary financial resources and moral support. It alleges a plot to destabilize the government, with Suresh encouraged to rally farmers from various villages to conduct attacks on officials involved in land acquisition.

As police escorted Narender Reddy to the Kodangal court, he attempted to address the media, stating that he had been wrongfully implicated. Media representatives followed the police vehicle, and Narender Reddy made efforts to communicate with reporters.

Inspector General Satyanarayana revealed that of the 42 individuals involved in the Lagcherla attack, 19 had no land ownership. He noted a possible conspiracy, indicating that farmers facing land acquisition had tried to prevent the attack on the collector. Satyanarayana clarified that all arrests were based on solid evidence, stating that those initially detained who had no involvement in the incident, 35 in total, were subsequently released, and reassured the public that those uninvolved have no reason for concern.

Notorious activist Varra Ravindra Reddy is said to have revealed some big names who lent support to all such individuals to post disgusting comments. So, there is a strong contention that he will soon be arrested with firm evidences for running a hate campaign with vulgar morphs. 

Reportedly, several criminal cases are pending and one SC/ST atrocity case was recently lodged against Bhargav Reddy and few others. Fearing arrest, Bhargav went into hiding from today morning. So, the police have issued a lookout notice against them and the hunt is on to nab all those who are under the scanner. Two teams have been formed for this task. 

As the noose tightens, there is no way that Bhargav Reddy can evade arrest as he won’t be able to escape from India now and it is just a matter of time for the police to trace his whereabouts.
