KTR Urges PM Modi To Act Like A `Big Brother, Instead of A `Big Boss’

BRS Working President and former minister KT Rama Rao has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to act like a `Big Brother’ instead of a `Big Boss’. He suggested that he should not dominate small states and southern states like Big Boss. Speaking at a journalism talk show held in Jaipur on Sunday, KTR demanded that the current MP seats should be continued as they are.

In a democracy, he said that the MLAs were the first ones available to the people. That is why, he said that his party’s opinion is to increase the MLA seats. If the Prime Minister has to be decided by North India.. tomorrow, he fears that the government will decide in favor of the interests of that region but will not take the views of South India into consideration.

However, KTR made it clear that they do not believe the words of the BJP government at the Center that injustice will not be done to the South in the  delimitation of constituencies. Because in the AP Reorganization Act, he recalled they said that they would increase the MLA seats in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. But they have not done so yet.

But before anyone asked, he wondered if they increased the assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir and Assam for their political interests. Wherever the Indian government had promised and the Parliament had made a law as a witness, he deplored that the MLA seats were not increased. He alleges that the BJP government at the Center only works according to its political interests and goals.

Moreover, KTR asserted that the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies should not be based on population. He said that the southern states followed population control as per the orders of the Center, but the northern states, which did not follow population control, are now doing well in terms of population.

He alleged that if the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies is done based on population, the undemocratic status of the northern states will increase.

KTR warned that this is very dangerous for India and that it will be a great injustice to the southern states. He expressed concern about the attempts to force Hindi on the people of the country.

“Why is Hindi being forcibly pushed in the South? In a country where India is unity in diversity, it is not appropriate to say that everyone has to learn Hindi. The Center is allocating crores of rupees for the promotion of Hindi. Why can’t funds be provided for Telugu?” he asked.

Natural Star Nani Gears Up For Two Major Releases In 2026

Tollywood’s beloved Natural Star Nani is on a roll. Following a hat-trick of hit films, the multi-talented actor is presently engaged in his next biggie, Paradise. The movie is his second outing with Dasara director Srikanth Odela, and is another mass entertainer. The team has already announced March 2026 for its big-screen release, and true to form, Nani is making sure the production goes smoothly and according to schedule.

But Paradise isn’t the only film on Nani’s radar for 2026. The actor is reportedly planning to treat his fans with another release later that year. This time, he’s teaming up with director Sujeeth, who is currently wrapping up OG starring Pawan Kalyan. Once OG hits theatres in September, Sujeeth is expected to shift gears and begin work on Nani’s project, which will be bankrolled by top producer DVV Danayya.

What’s more interesting is that even while working on OG, Sujeeth has already begun pre-production for his film with Nani. If all goes as planned, the shoot is likely to kick off in October. Buzz is that the film will be a romantic entertainer—something refreshing and engaging for the audience.

With Paradise progressing as planned, Nani believes he can do the same for Sujeeth’s film and finish and release across the last quarter of 2026, perhaps October or December. Nani has raised expectations for both projects with his recent form and his ability to release a hit film.

As for what lies ahead beyond these two films, Nani hasn’t officially announced. With that said, industry sources speculate that Nani will have formalised another project by the time Paradise completes. There’s also speculation that Nani may bring a new director on to Tollywood. If we think about all the details above, we can see that what Nani does is he finds a brilliant script, takes on a brilliant new talent and now we just wait to see what Nani will bring next.

2026 is gearing up for Nani, as another blockbuster year with back to back hits on the way.

YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy sent For Remand Till Aug 1 In AP Liquor Scam

The Vijayawada ACB court has issued orders to remand YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy till August 1 in the AP liquor scam case. The SIT will produce the accused arrested so far in the court on August 1. The judge took this decision after hearing arguments from both sides in the liquor case. Later, he was sent to Rajahmundry Central Prison.

Advocate Koteswara Rao presented arguments on behalf of the SIT, while senior advocate Nagarjuna Reddy presented arguments on behalf of Mithun Reddy. After the initial medical examination, YSRCP MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy was produced before the Vijayawada ACB court judge on Sunday evening.

The SIT officials reported 29 reasons for Mithun Reddy’s arrest to the court. They reported to the court that there is clear evidence of Mithun Reddy’s role in the money trail of the liquor case.  Similarly, the SIT has stated key points in the ground of arrest on the arrest of MP Mithun Reddy.

It has been prima facie established that Mithun Reddy committed a crime in the liquor case, and that Mithun Reddy was the main conspirator from the beginning to the implementation of the liquor case.

The SIT revealed that a conspiracy was implemented to promote Satya Prasad as a non-cadre IAS, and that it was brought to the attention of the court that Satya Prasad was a government employee A3 in the liquor case. The SIT stated that Satya Prasad was appointed as a special officer for the implementation of the liquor scam, and that Mithun Reddy directly influenced A2 Vasu Devareddy and A3 Satya Prasad.

The SIT brought to the attention of the court that during the previous YSRCP government, there were two officers in key positions in the excise department, and Mithun Reddy had made suggestions to cause huge loss to the state’s revenue. His lawyers argued that Mithun Reddy had served as an MP and panel speaker three times.

He said that the Speaker was not informed about Mithun Reddy’s arrest. Mithun Reddy is an MP with Y category security and if remanded, he has requested a special barracks in Nellore jail for security reasons. However, the SIT lawyers have requested that he should be remanded to the Vijayawada sub-jail as he has to be taken into police custody.

While Mithun Reddy was arrested as A4 in the liquor bribery case, he is the 12th accused among those arrested so far in this case and the first people’s representative. The SIT believes that Mithun Reddy played a key role in formulating the liquor policy and implementing the liquor bribery network. Another allegation is that Mithun Reddy benefited by manufacturing inferior brands in his own distilleries, replacing the brands of renowned companies.

CM Chandrababu Facing A Big challenge To Fulfill His promise of Kadapa Steel Plant

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, in his capacity as the national president of the TDP, promised that the long-time dream of Rayalaseema people to have a steel plant work would be started on June 12 at the site near Pedda Gandluru- Sunnapurallapalli in Jammalamadugu constituency of YSR Kadapa district under the auspices of JSW.

Minister Nara Lokesh also said the same thing in a media chat. However, despite the expiry of the deadline given by father and son, there has been no progress in the steel construction work. The promise made in the AP Reorganization Act to set up a steel industry under the auspices of SAIL in Kadapa district is being implemented with utter negligence.

It is known that the NDA government at the center, which came to power after the 2014 general elections, played dramas in the name of lack of feasibility. The then Chief Minister Chandrababu laid the foundation stone in Kambaladinne, Mylavaram mandal, Jammalamadugu constituency in February 2018 under the pretext that the government would set up a steel industry.

After the 2019 general elections, the then YSRCP government laid the foundation stone of the YSR Steel Corporation on 3,200 acres near Pedda Gandluru- Sunnapurallapally in Jammalamadugu constituency in the district. Later, under the auspices of JSW, one of the leading steel giants in the country, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a steel industry at a cost of Rs. 15,000 crores. The TDP coalition government came to power in the 2024 general elections.

The 7.5 km road works undertaken with a budget of Rs. 500 crore during the YSRCP government’s tenure, which were part of the infrastructure construction works undertaken with a budget of Rs. 13 crore, the formation road works completed for 6.5 km.

Moreover, compound wall construction works, water reservoir construction works, railway line, water supply pipeline works undertaken from Brahmasagar reservoir with a budget of Rs. 150 crore, and SS tank construction works, have not seen any payment of bills.

On the one hand, pending dues and on the other hand, there is no progress in the construction works of the steel industry. These developments pose a greater challenge for Chandrababu Naidu to implement his promise.

CM Revanth Reddy says caste census Is Not Just Data collection, But A Mega Health checkup

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the caste census survey is not just data collection, but a mega health checkup for Telangana. He revealed that as per the promise made by Rahul Gandhi, the caste census survey has been successfully conducted in the state and that this report will be useful for the upliftment of the weaker sections and implementation of social justice in the state.

He said that the government will take further steps after discussing the issues and suggestions of the expert committee in the cabinet. The expert committee has given a grade on backwardness by caste. It has submitted its 300-page report to the government in the economic and educational sectors.

In a meeting held at the MCHRD in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, experts under the chairmanship of Justice Sudarshan Reddy, Chairman of the Independent Expert Working Group, met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM asked the expert committee to study the differences between urban and rural areas and the reasons for this, identify the needs of the people and give appropriate suggestions.

The expert committee was of the opinion that this survey is scientific, authentic and reliable. The report included the Composite Backwardness Index (CBI) index regarding the backwardness of the 242 castes mentioned in the caste census. In the report prepared in more than 300 pages, the CBI gave scores and ranks on backwardness of 242 castes.

The expert committee is of the opinion that the survey conducted by Telangana is historic and will become a role model for the country. For the first time in the country, the Telangana state government has conducted a social, economic and caste survey with the aim of social justice and empowerment of all communities. In the first phase, the survey was conducted across the state for 50 days from November 6 to December 25, 2024.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that based on the survey analysis, wealth and resources will be reached to the underprivileged communities. He said that such a scientific survey has not been done anywhere in the country. He said that the caste survey undertaken by the Telangana state government and the analysis based on the survey will change the direction of this country.

AP Received only 4 percent of Funds From Center In First Quarter

Though TDP is the crucial partner of NDA for the survival of Narendra Modi-led government and BJP leadership have been making huge claims of central assistance to the state in the big way, in practice AP is not seen as a priority state for it. Even the Center avoided releasing normal grants for the state.

Moreover, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s repeated requests the Center is not responding on releasing grants for the development of Amaravati, instead of facilitating loans.

With only 4 percent of the funds received in the first quarter of the current financial year, the impact is weighing on the state exchequer. This is leading to a situation of incurring huge debts. According to the quarterly report announced by the CAG, the state’s financial situation is worrying.

The state’s treasury is in trouble due to a decrease in its own income, non-receipt of funds from the center, and dependence on loans. While Rs. 32,284 crore was to be received from the center in the form of grants for the entire year, only Rs. 1,465 crore was received in the first three months. With an average of Rs. 2,690 crore per month, up to Rs 8,000 crores is to be received in three months.

However, it is noteworthy that only 4.54 percent of the funds have been received. It  has decreased to 2.0 percent this year from 6.64 percent in the first quarter of last year. Officials say that this will become a problem for the schemes implemented in the state. If we look at the state’s own income, 20 percent of the funds have been received so far.

As per the budget estimates, Rs. 1.66 lakh crore was estimated, but only Rs. 33,000 crore was received in three months. Of this, land revenue is the least. It is surprising that only Rs 2 crores were received while Rs. 221 crore was expected. With the decrease in the inflow of debt funds to the government, the loans made have also changed drastically.

While the budget estimated a loan of Rs. 79,952 crore, it is worrying that Rs. 37,093 crore was collected as loans in the first three months. With this, the deficit has also reached the same level. While the total income was collected at 20 percent, the expenditure incurred was up to 24 percent.
