Giving a big boost to the demoralized YSRCP cadre, it has  emerged triumphant in the  local body bye-elections

held on Friday. The party clinched 30 out of 52 seats, dealing a significant blow to the NDA coalition of the TDP and Jana Sena Party, which managed to secure only 11 and 1 seats, respectively.

Elections were held for the posts of one Zilla Parishad Chairman, 24 MPPs, and 17 Vice MPPs in the state due to various reasons. With elections in 10 seats postponed, the results raised questions about the NDA’s governance and YSRCP’s enduring grassroots appeal. The local body elections, often seen as a barometer of public sentiment at the grassroots level, have painted a complex picture of Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.

YSRCP’s victory, though not as sweeping as their 2021 performance, where they secured a staggering 99.95% of seats, demonstrates that the party remains a formidable force despite its loss in the 2024 Assembly elections.

For the NDA, which rode a wave of anti-incumbency against YSRCP to power in 2024, the results are a sobering reminder of the challenges they face in consolidating their mandate at the local level.

The YSRCP’s success in bagging 30 seats, translating to approximately 58% of the contested seats, underscores the party’s deep-rooted connection with rural voters.  However, the party’s performance is not without its caveats.

The drop from a near- total sweep in 2021 to 58% in 2025

suggests that YSRCP’s support base, while robust, is not impervious to erosion. The 2024 Assembly election loss, coupled with criticisms of economic stagnation and the controversial three- capitals proposal during their tenure, may have dented their appeal among some sections of the electorate.

Nevertheless, this victory provides a much- needed morale boost for the YSRCP as it seeks to rebuild and reclaim its position in the state.

For the ruling NDA coalition, comprising the TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP, the local body election results are nothing short of a jolt. The TDP, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, secured 11 seats, while Jana Sena, under Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, managed a paltry 1 seat.

The NDA’s underwhelming showing comes less than a year after their landslide victory in the 2024 Assembly elections, where they collectively won 164 out of 175 seats (TDP: 147, Jana Sena: 21, BJP: 8). This stark contrast has led to speculation about whether the alliance is facing early anti- incumbency or a deeper disconnect with the grassroots.

These results reflects the TDP  faces challenges in reclaiming

its historical dominance at the grassroots level. Despite Chandrababu Naidu’s reputation as a development-oriented

leader, his focus on long- term projects, such as the revival of

Amaravati as the state capital, may not resonate with rural voters who prioritise immediate benefits over grand visions. For the NDA, the results are a wake-up call.

KTR wondered why Bhatti Vikramarka silent on Injustice By Center To Telangana

BRS Working President and former minister KT Rama Rao, accusing  the central government of not caring about Telangana, wondered why Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was silent in his budget on the injustice done to Telangana.

Speaking in the assembly on the budget, he deplored that Telangana was wronged in the central budget, but there is no mention of it in the state budget. He said that the center is imitating Telangana schemes. He said that he was surprised to see the state budget with a lot of criticism against the previous BRS government,  but asked why they are not holding the center accountable?

KTR mentioned that only after his party got zero seats in the Lok Sabha elections the state got zero in the central budget too. He cautioned the Congress government that if they do not fight, the center will not provide funds to the state. KTR assured that they are ready to support the Revanth government to fight the center for the benefits of the state.

He deplored that the center has not given a single medical college to Telangana and not a single rupee has been allocated to the Turmeric Board in the central budget. A special package was given for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, but KTR flagged that industries in Telangana would be closed.

KTR lamented that though there are two central ministers from Telangana, they are left as useless ministers. He questioned whether even a single rupee was given to the temples in Telangana? KTR demanded that the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara be recognized as a national festival.

He asked that the center that provides funds for the Kumbh Mela, why funds are not being provided for the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara? He alerted the state government that the center will not provide funds if we do not ask them.

He strongly ridiculed the propaganda carried out by the present government that there has been financial anarchy in the last 10 years in the state. He said that during their tenure, they borrowed only Rs. 40,000 crores per year, and developed a lot by borrowing. 

He recalled that the CAG had said the same thing. KTR drew severe criticism that the Congress borrowed Rs. 1.58 lakh crores this year alone. He emphasized that Telangana surpassed Haryana and Punjab in grain production in 2022 itself. KTR said that Rs. 61,000 crores were spent on free electricity for cultivation.

Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is being projected as the `future Chief Minister’ by his fans, particularly his community people. That’s why he was able to muster overwhelming support from some sections of people during last year’s elections, unlike in 2019.

After taking charge as Deputy Chief Minister with key ministries like Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Forests, expectations on his focus on governance started rising nonparallel. However, slowly his indifferent attitude towards his role in the government caused worry not only to the coalition partners, but also to his fans.

Many are surprised that he is taking cabinet meetings, assembly sessions and other crucial government functions very lightly. He is attending as he likes. Last month he was absent during the cabinet meeting stating ill-health, but soon after he was seen on a pilgrimage in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

During the recent budget session of the AP assembly, he attended for a few days only. During his absence in the assembly, several questions related to his key departments were forced to postpone. After skipping the assembly, he participated in the Jana Sena foundation day meeting held in Pithapuram.

More prominently his absence in the two-day collectors’ conference this week also surprised many. In this meeting, a seat was allotted for Deputy Chief Minister next to Chandrababu, but Pawan Kalyan did not come.

Moreover, Pawan Kalyan’s presence in his chamber in the Secretariat is also said to be minimal when compared to other ministers. Although Jana Sena sources say that he has back pain, he continues to attend his own programs.

There is also a debate as to whether Pawan Kalyan would have swayed so much in the Pithapuram assembly if he really had back pain? Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who often cautions ministers and senior officers, who are not seen alert in their duties, seems to be unable to react to the indifferent attitude of Pawan Kalyan.

Many supporters of Pawan Kalyan also felt it bad that his attitude may not send positive signals among people, who are looking towards him as the `future Chief Minister’. Unlike him, two other ministers from Jana Sena, Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh are seen active in their functioning.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has assured the Muslim community that he would protect the Waqf properties. He promised to take responsibility for the development of Muslim minorities in all ways, not only to maintain religious harmony. He made it clear that Telugu Desam is the only one that has worked for the development of Muslims.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu participated in the Iftar celebrations organized in Vijayawada. The CM expressed his happiness at being a partner in the Ramzan festival for the past 40 years. He described the month of Ramzan as a combination of discipline, charity and religious thoughts.

He praised the strict fasting from morning to evening as a great tradition. The CM said that they are moving forward by cultivating a positive attitude like reading the Quran, praying, meditating and helping others, and reminded that the good quality that the Quran teaches is that those who have money should help others.

Chandrababu praised the people who help the poor from their hard-earned money by starting a program called Zakat during the holy month of Ramzan.

He said that the P-4 program is being launched in the month of Ramzan itself and reiterated that it is being undertaken with the aim of providing assistance to the 20 percent of the poorest families who are the 10 percent of the wealthy.

He revealed that we are moving forward under the name of Margadarshi-Bangaru Kutumbat and that it is my life’s ambition to be with the poor. He clarified that the poor among Muslims will be brought into development in all ways.

He said that Rs. 5,300 crores have been allocated for the welfare of minorities in this year’s budget, which is more than Rs. 1,300 crores of last year. He criticized the previous YSRCP government for bringing GO 43 and making the Waqf Board controversial. 

Now, he said that GO was cancelled and the Waqf Board has been revived. It was announced that qualified Imams will be appointed as Qazis. Minister Farooq, Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz, Minority Rights Protection Committee State President Farooq Shibli and Muslim religious leaders participated in the program.

బ్రెయిన్ డెడ్ అయిన మహిళ శరీర భాగాలను అవయవదానం చేయడానికి ఆమె కుటుంబం ఒప్పుకోవడమే ఒక అద్భుతం. వారి మానవత్వపు దృక్పథానికి చేతులెత్తి నమస్కరించాలి. గుంటూరులో  ఓ కుటుంబం అలాంటి నిర్ణయం తీసుకోగా.. మరణించిన మహిళ గుండెను తిరుపతిలో చికిత్స పొందుతున్న ఒక నిరుపేద మహిళకు అమర్చడానికి వీలుగా.. దానికోసం గ్రీన్ ఛానెల్ ఏర్పాటు చేయడం మాత్రమే కాదు. తన సొంత ఖర్చుతో ప్రత్యేక విమానంమ ఏర్పాటుచేసి దాని ద్వారా పంపండం ద్వారా.. మంత్రి నారా లోకేష్ తన పెద్ద మనసు చాటుకున్నారు. ఒక కుటుంబం తాము కోల్పోయిన వ్యక్తి అవయవాల్ని దానం చేయదలచుకుంటే.. అందుకు మంత్రిగా, మానవత్వం ఉన్న మనిషిగానూ నారా లోకేష్ అందించిన సహకారం పట్ల సర్వత్రా అభినందనలు వెల్లువెత్తుతున్నాయి.

గుంటూరులో చెరుకూరి సుష్మ (47) అనే మహిళ తీవ్రమైన తలనొప్పితో బాధపడుతూ ఆస్టర్ రమేష్ ఆస్పత్రిలో చేరింది. ఆమె భర్త  శ్రీనివాసరావు ఒక ఇన్సూరెన్సు ఏజంటు. ఆమె చికిత్స పొందుతూ బ్రెయిన్ డెడ్ అయినట్టుగా నిర్ధరించడంతో ఆస్పత్రి వారు కుటుంబానికి అవయవదానం గురించి సూచించారు. సుష్మ శరీర భాగాలు ఇతరుల ప్రాణాలు నిలబెట్టడానికి ఉపయోగపడతాయని తెలిసి వారు కూడా అంగీకరించారు.

ఈ మేరకు గుంటూరు రమేష్ ఆస్టర్ ఆస్పత్రి నుంచి గన్నవరం విమానాశ్రయం వరకు ప్రభుత్వం గ్రీన్ ఛానెల్ ఏర్పాటు చేసింది. ఆమె గుండెను తిరుపతి రేణిగుంట విమానాశ్రయానికి తరలించడానికి ప్రత్యేకవిమానాన్ని లోకేష్ ఏర్పాటుచేశారు. అలాగే ఊపిరితిత్తులను చెన్నై పంపడం కోసం మరో ప్రత్యేక అంబులెన్సు ద్వారా గన్నవరం విమానాశ్రయానికి పంపారు.  ఒక కిడ్నీ, కాలేయాన్ని ఆస్టర్ రమేష్ ఆసుపత్రికి ఇవ్వగా, మరో కిడ్నీని విజయవాడలోని మరో కార్పొరేట్ ఆస్పత్రికి వైద్యులు తీసుకువెళ్లారు.

తిరుపతిలో గుండె అవసరంతో చికిత్స పొందుతున్న రోగిది నిరుపేద కుటుంబం. సుష్మ శరీరం నుంచి గుండె సేకరించే సమయానికి తిరుపతి విమానం లేదని తెలియడంతో లోకేష్ ప్రత్యేక విమానం సొంత ఖర్చుతో ఏర్పాటుచేశారు.
కాగా.. అవయవదానంతో పలువురి ప్రాణాలను నిలబెట్టడానికి తోడ్పాటు అందించిన సుష్మ కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు వేనోళ్ల అభినందనలు అందుతున్నాయి. అవయవదానం పట్ల సమాజంలో స్పృహ పెరగాల్సిన అవసరం ఇంకా చాలా ఉన్నదని.. వివిధ రకాల మూర్ఖ నమ్మకాలను పక్కన పెట్టి ప్రజలు సానుకూల దృక్పథాన్ని పెంచుకోవాలని పలువురు అంటున్నారు.

Priyanka Dutt highlighted her father’s dedication, stating that even at 70, he remains focused on selecting compelling scripts.  

Swapna Dutt echoed similar sentiments, noting that her father’s philosophy—”Cinema is magical; we must give it what it deserves.”—continues to drive her work.  

Alia Bhatt named her mother as her greatest inspiration.  

Zoya Akhtar credited her father.  

Professional Challenges and Lighthearted Moments  

Discussing professional challenges, Priyanka Dutt admitted to occasionally concealing budget concerns from director Nag Ashwin to avoid stressing him. “Every time he asked if the budget was okay, I would say ‘yes’ to keep him focused on the creative aspects,” she revealed.  

Swapna Dutt acknowledged that minor deceptions are sometimes necessary in the industry to maintain harmony.  

In a lighter moment, Alia Bhatt shared a personal anecdote: “Whenever I am asked how long it will take me to reach an event, I always say ‘five minutes’—even if that’s never the case,” she said with a laugh.

Mumbai: Bollywood star Salman Khan was recently seen wearing a luxury watch featuring designs inspired by Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, Lord Ram, Hanuman, and other sacred symbols. Images of the actor sporting the exclusive timepiece have gone viral on social media, with fans lauding him for honoring cultural heritage.
