Kishan Reddy slams Revanth Reddy plot To Avoid 42% BC Reservations

Union Minister and State BJP President G Kishan Reddy has alleged that the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy participation in Delhi’s dharn under the guise of BC organizations at Jantar Mantar in the name of BC reservations is an attempt to evade the implementation of 42 percent reservations.

He said that what they have been saying since before that Revanth Reddy is not sincere in providing BC reservations and it has now been proven once again. He made it clear that Revanth Reddy, who sees BCs as just a vote bank, will not develop them unless he thinks of using them for a long time.

How can you now make a pretext against the Center after promising to increase BC reservations to 42 percent? If the increase in BC reservations is not within your purview, how did you promise?, he asked. He said that Revanth Reddy is playing this drama because he does not want to increase BC reservations, and called Revanth Reddy a real BC traitor.

He accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of playing these dramas behind Revanth Reddy’s back. He expressed his anger that the BCs have not yet forgotten the fact that Rahul Gandhi could not digest that a BC person was the Prime Minister and he rudely criticized Narendra Modi.

Kishan Reddy reminded that Rahul Gandhi had openly expressed his opposition to BCs by saying that all those with the surname Modi are thieves. He said that the Congress has been blocking BC reservations since before, and criticized that even the first Prime Minister Nehru blocked BC reservations and Indira Gandhi also suppressed the implementation of BC reservations.

He said that the then Prime Minister VP Singh tried to implement the recommendations of the Mandal Commission, Rajiv Gandhi strongly opposed it in the Parliament. Kishan Reddy expressed his anger that Rahul Gandhi has filled the BC opposition with his legacy and that Rahul Gandhi is playing dramas by putting Revanth Reddy in front to block BC reservations in the state.

Stating that Revanth Reddy has not implemented any of the promises made to the BCs in Kamareddy, he said in the BC declaration it promised to increase BC reservations within 6 months of coming to power, but later forgot about it.

He clarified that the 42 percent BC reservation bill was passed due to severe pressure from the people, especially from the BCs, and it was not for the welfare of the BCs.  He said that Rs. 20,000 crores per year will be spent for the welfare of the BCs in five years, but the promises made in both the budgets presented by the Congress have not been implemented.

Center Given Green signal For Adilabad Airport, After Mamunur In Telangana

The central government is preparing to set up an airport in Adilabad district, the second one after giving clearance for Mamunur AIrport in Warangal district after the formation of Revanth Reddy government.

Officially disclosing this, Roads and Highways Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy conveyed his best wishes to the people of Adilabad district. He said that the Indian Air Force has given its consent to the civil airport for the establishment of an airport in Adilabad. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu for their cooperation in granting permissions for Mamunur and Adilabad airports since the formation of the Congress government.

Minister Komatireddy described the fact that the approvals for the two airports were obtained in a short period of just six months as the result of the tireless efforts of the Telangana government. Minister Komatireddy revealed that the Indian Air Force has also stated in a letter to the state government that it is considering the possibility of setting up an air force training center in Adilabad district in the future.

The Indian Air Force officials have expressed their willingness to the state government’s request made on December 18 last year to develop the Adilabad airport and make civil aviation services available, and have also stated in the letter that they are considering setting up an air force training center there in the future.

The Air Force has suggested in its letter that the Adilabad airport should be developed as a joint user airfield to accommodate civil aviation and Air Force aircraft movements. The work to be done to facilitate the movement of civil aircraft includes reconstruction of the runway, establishment of a civil terminal, development of other infrastructure such as a designated area (aircraft apron) for parking, turning and other aviation activities.

The Minister explained that the letter suggested that the Airport Authority of India should provide the necessary land for this. The Airport Authority of India was asked to submit detailed proposals to the Indian Air Force to obtain all the necessary permissions for the airport. Minister Komatireddy said that the next steps in this regard are being reviewed with the authorities.

YS Jagan Slams TDP, Vows Stronger Support for YSRCP Cadre

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a blistering attack against the coalition government on charges of launching a conspiracy to target the leadership of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) members. During recent local body bye-elections, Jagan strongly asserted that amid obstacles taken from the ruling party, the YSRCP got the verdict on most of the seats. The determination and struggle of workers he attributed as party workers worked tireless under many obstacles thrown at them.

Jagan conceded that due to the unexpected issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, while he was CM, he was not in a position to give priority attention to party workers. Nonetheless, he assured them that in the future, he will be more forthcoming in taking their issues at hand and protecting their interests.

Laying the groundwork for a new leadership approach, Jagan assured that “Jagan 2.0” will be more aggressive and rooted more firmly in the party cadre. He pledged to be with YSRCP workers and combat any injustice being perpetuated against them.

Addressing local body representatives at a meeting, Jagan congratulated the grit of party workers, who remained steadfast in the face of intimidation, lawsuits, and purported elections irregularities committed by the ruling government.

Grossly attacking the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jagan accused the party of using unfair tactics to win elections. He noted that 39 out of 50 seats contested by YSRCP were won, highlighting the fact that in spite of TDP’s intimidation strategies, public support is still very much in YSRCP’s favor.

He also accused TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu of failing to deliver on 143 pre-election promises and claimed that public dissatisfaction with Naidu’s governance is at an all-time high. He further criticized TDP’s alleged manipulation in Visakhapatnam, where he accused them of using an unethical no-confidence motion to illegally take control of the municipal corporation.

Jagan also lashed out at TDP for alleged election fraud in Kuppam, claiming that the party declared victory despite lacking genuine public support. He further slammed Naidu’s latest political strategy, “P-4”, accusing TDP of spreading misinformation about state finances while failing to fulfill its governance responsibilities.

Posting high hopes on YSRCP’s return, Jagan said that people are now pinning the responsibility of failed promises on the current ruling government. He reassured his party workers that this time, YSRCP will be even more steadfast, assuring that public confidence will be regained and misleading political strategies revealed.

With YSRCP set to face a tough political fight in the coming times, Jagan’s recent remarks mark an intensified and renewed drive to take back power in Andhra Pradesh.

HCU Land Dispute Intensifies: High Court Issues Interim Orders

A significant land conflict in the vicinity of Hyderabad Central University (HCU) has set off protests and court cases, with students and activists firmly objecting to the Telangana government’s move to acquire 400 acres of land in Kanchan Gachibowli for development. The state government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, recently notified the land as government land and started leveling the ground. But this has been greeted by vehement opposition from environmentalists, students, and opposition parties who say the land should be protected as a green belt and not turned over for industrial purposes.

In the midst of growing tensions, the Vata Foundation, an environmental NGO, intervened by seeking a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Telangana High Court. The NGO is petitioning the court to safeguard the land as a national park on the grounds that development will have irreparable damage to the environment and local ecosystem.

The case was heard by the Telangana High Court on April 2 at 2:15 PM, wherein both parties laid their arguments. Following a hearing of the case, the court passed an interim order, directing the government to stop all tree-cutting and construction work on the property instantly. The hearing will be resumed on April 3.

During the court proceedings, the petitioner’s legal team argued that the land is home to various wildlife species and should be safeguarded. They referred to a Supreme Court ruling that mandates approval from an expert committee before any forest land can be cleared. The petitioner claimed that the Telangana government bypassed this requirement and began tree felling without proper authorization.

Countering these claims, the government’s legal counsel presented Google Earth images as evidence, asserting that the land does not meet the criteria of a forest. The lawyer went a step further, arguing that even golf courses have peacocks, deer, and snakes—but that doesn’t make them forests. The state maintained that the land has been designated for industrial purposes and that the government’s actions are within legal limits.

After hearing both sides, the High Court ruled in favor of a temporary halt, barring any further tree cutting or development until more evidence is presented. The government has been directed to submit additional documentation clarifying the land’s legal status.

With the next hearing set for April 3, the fate of this land remains uncertain. Environmentalists and activists are hopeful that the court will prioritize conservation over industrial expansion, while the state government continues to push for its development plans.

Nagababu Sworn in as MLC: Talks Begin on His Ministerial Role in AP Cabinet

Janasena president Konidela Nagendra Babu, who is the brother of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, has officially taken oath as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC). The oath ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Amaravati, with Legislative Council Chairman Moshen Raju conducting the ceremony. With this, Nagababu has officially commenced his duties as an MLC, following all formalities. He was freshly elected unopposed from the MLA quota, getting hold of an important seat in the legislative affairs of the state.

The MLA quota elections had five seats of MLC available, all of which fell into the pocket of the TDP alliance. While three seats were won by TDP, its allies BJP and Janasena were given one seat each. Nagababu was representing Janasena, with the BJP nominating Somu Veerraju. The three MLC candidates of the TDP were Kavali Greeshma, BT Naidu, and Beeda Ravichandra. Since the YSRCP had not enough members to contest, it withdrew, thus leaving all five of them to win unopposed. After their win, Nagababu and the other elected MLCs swore in.

With Nagababu now officially part of the Legislative Council, the spotlight is now on his possible inclusion in the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet. Earlier, TDP chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu proposed adding Nagababu as a minister, which idea got full support from Pawan Kalyan. Now that his MLC appointment is over, political circles are full of speculations about when he will be allocated a ministerial portfolio.

With Janasena being a vital part of the ruling coalition, it is considered by many to be only a matter of time before Nagababu’s inclusion in the Cabinet. While talks within the TDP-Janasena-BJP coalition go on, all eyes are focused on the big announcement about his political future yet to come.
