Jacqueline Fernandez’s Mother Kim Passes Away

Jacqueline Fernandez’s family is mourning the loss of her mother, Kim Fernandez, who passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was receiving treatment at Mumbai’s Leelavati Hospital when the incident occurred. Despite being under intensive care, she could not be revived following a severe heart attack.

Originally based in Manama, Bahrain, Kim had previously faced health-related challenges. In 2022, she was hospitalized in Bahrain before being moved to Mumbai for continued medical care. On March 24, she was admitted to the ICU at Leelavati Hospital, where her condition deteriorated.

Following the news, actor Salman Khan visited the hospital to extend his condolences to Jacqueline and her family. The actress, who was scheduled to perform at the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 in Guwahati, cancelled her appearance due to her mother’s condition.

Members of the film fraternity have expressed their condolences and extended support to Jacqueline Fernandez during this time of personal loss.

AP Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan greeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on this 45th  Foundation Day on Sunday. It may be recalled that Jana Sena is constituent of the BJP-led NDA and part of the TDP-led coalition in Andhra Pradesh, in which BJP is also a partner.

He played a key role in bridging the gap between BJP and TDP so that he formulated a united opposition to fight against YS Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSRCP government in the state, last year.

“Darkness sets in. The sun rises. The lotus blooms”.. These were the words of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in his speech on the foundation day of the Bharatiya Janata Party exactly 45 years ago. On April 6, 1980, the BJP was formed under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and LK Advani. In this context, Pawan Kalyan made a sensational tweet on X wishing the Bharatiya Janata Party a happy birthday. Moreover, he hailed that today, due to the efforts of BJP National President JP Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP has emerged as the largest political party in the world. It has been serving the people for three terms in the country, he said.

Though it inherited a very badly managed economy, Andhra Pradesh ranked 2nd in the country among the states that achieved the highest economic growth rate in the last financial year. It recorded the highest economic growth rate. In the financial year 2024-2025, AP achieved a total growth rate of 8.21 percent. Only Tamil Nadu is ahead of AP. It topped the list with a growth rate of 9.69 percent.

The growth rate in manufacturing, service and agriculture sectors in AP was included in its report to the central government. Measures such as standing at the top in the ease of doing business, industrial policies and transparency in administration have contributed to creating a favorable environment for investments.

AP has also been recognized as a leader in the implementation of the Business Reforms Action Plan. With Telangana’s seniormost bureaucrat Shanti Kumari nearing retirement this month, talk is rife of her impending move to a constitutional position. According to sources, the state government is favorably considering appointing her as Chief Information Commissioner.

A very important meeting was recently conducted by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, and Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, to discuss appointments to key constitutional posts. Even opposition chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) received an invitation but was conspicuous in his absence during the meeting.

The panel directed its focus to filling in the vacancies such as that of Lokayukta, Upa-Lokayukta, members of the Human Rights Commission, and that of the State Information Commission. A broad consensus was also reached on the deliberations, it is said, and the name of Shanti Kumari surfaced as the favorite to join as an Information Commissioner.

Shanti Kumari was appointed Chief Secretary of Telangana on January 11, 2023, following a court directive under which her predecessor Somesh Kumar was repatriated to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. In spite of a change in the state government, CM Revanth Reddy extended her tenure, recognizing her experience and administrative skills.

While approaching her retirement deadline, veteran IAS officer K. Ramakrishna Rao is highly speculatively supposed to take the Chief Secretary’s position. 1991 batch Telangana cadre officer Ramakrishna Rao has steered the finances of the state and has introduced 10 budgets till date. He was even Director General, Centre for Good Governance, also demonstrating his leadership in policy-making.

The position of Chief Information Commissioner has remained vacant since 2023, and the expected appointment of Shanti Kumari is likely to give a boost to the working of the Right to Information (RTI) Act in Telangana.
