Keen Interest In AP To set Up solar power projects As They Gets Additional Income, Besides Free Electricity

0

People in Andhra Pradesh are showing keen interest to set up solar power projects as they get additional income in addition to free electricity. Moreover, there are subsidies from the central and state governments. SCs and STs have the opportunity to set up solar power projects without spending a single penny.

Banks will provide subsidies to the rest of them to pay the remaining amount. Under the PM Suryagarh Mufti Bijli Yojana scheme, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has decided to set up 2 kilowatt capacity projects on 20 lakh houses by March 2027. It is estimated that about 4,000 megawatts of additional electricity will be available through this.

Under this scheme, the center is providing subsidy up to a maximum of 3 kilowatts. Banks will provide the remaining amount as a loan after the subsidy amount. While the cost of setting up a 2 kilowatt project will be up to Rs. 1.10 lakh, the center will provide a subsidy of up to Rs. 60,000. The remaining Rs. 50,000 consumers will have to bear the cost.

It is estimated that 240 units of electricity will be generated through this. Out of this, the remaining electricity will be used for household needs and will go to the grid. The power companies will pay the consumers at the rate of Rs 2.9 per unit. Those who want to set up a solar project at home should first register on the national consumer portal.

They should enter their current bill, bank details and address. If they submit an application to the DISCOM by paying a fee of Rs 1,000, the names and details of the companies providing solar panels will be displayed. If they choose one of them and sign a contract, they can choose the option of getting the subsidy provided by the center and the rest as a loan from banks.

However, only those who use domestically manufactured solar panels will get the subsidy. The government is providing 200 units of free electricity every month to about 20.18 lakh SC and ST households in the state. Now, the state government has come forward to bear the remaining Rs 50,000 of the Rs 60,000 subsidy given by the center for 2 kilowatt solar power projects on their homes.

Similarly, the subsidy given by the center to BCs will be provided with an additional Rs 20,000. That is, Rs 30,000 will have to be borne by the consumers. That can also be obtained as a loan. While a subsidy of Rs 60,000 is being given for 2 kilowatt projects installed on homes, a subsidy of Rs 18,000 will be received for each kilowatt after that.

The center will provide a maximum subsidy of 3 kilowatts. It has set a target of setting up one crore solar power projects on houses across the country by 2026-27. For this, a subsidy of up to Rs 75,000 crores will be borne.

CM Chandrababu To Defy Waqf Amendment Act, Not To Appoint Non-Muslims In Waqf Board

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is comfortable with the Narendra Modi-led government’s assistance to the state government for taking forward various development projects, is now seen in an embarrassing scenario with the passage of Waqf Amendment Act.

The Muslims in the state, who have extended support to TDP and Jana Sena in last year’s elections, besides their alliance with the BJP, are now angry for supporting the Waqf Bill. They expressed their anger openly and even boycotted Iftar dinners arranged by Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP leaders.

The Muslims, who had solidly supported YS Jaganmohan Reddy in 2019 polls, became angry with him for his proximity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get relief from CBI and ED cases and also branded as `adopted son of Modi’. So, they solidly opposed Jagan and supported Chandrababu in the 2024 polls.

On his party, Chandrababu also tried his best to convince them that besides his alliance with BJP he will never compromise on issues related to Muslims. Referring to his track-record he succeeded in convincing them that he will always stand by them on all issues. However, they are now expressing their discontent towards TDP’s support to Wakf Act.

Sensing that Muslims are now angry with Chandrababu after the Wakf Act, has taken a key decision as damage control. According to the recent amendments to the Wakf Act passed by the Parliament, it has been decided to appoint non-Muslims in Waqf boards at both the state and central levels. The Center has supported this for the sake of transparency in Waqf transactions.

However, the TDP, a crucial ally in the NDA, has expressed objections to this amendment. To this extent, it has also demanded that this amendment be removed from the bill. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not backed down on this issue. This has paved the way for the entry of non-Muslims in Waqf boards.

As protests and rallies are being held everywhere in the state against the Wakf Act, CM Chandrababu realized the discontent among them towards his government. To pacify them, he has instructed the Board Chairman Aziz not to appoint non-Muslims in the State Wakf Board. With this, he made a statement on this matter.

At the same time, Chandrababu expressed dissatisfaction over the decision to lease the properties of the State Wakf Board while the Wakf Act amendment was being discussed in Parliament. With this, Waqf Board Chairman Aziz gave clarity on this too. He announced that the properties would be leased only if the Waqf Board, along with the Mutawallis of the relevant mosques, and the government agreed.

Revanth Reddy Directed Extension of Metro services To Future City

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed the extension of metro services to Future City and instructed the officials to prepare the necessary final proposals for this. He conducted a review of the metro expansion at the Command Control Center and inquired about the progress of the proposals related to the second phase of metro expansion.

Officials explained that permissions are yet to be received from the central government and that discussions have already been held with officials in Delhi. Revanth Reddy instructed the officials to prepare a new plan to extend the metro by 40 kilometers from the airport to the Young India Skill Development University in Future City. He said that Future City will develop in an area of about 30,000 acres and in view of the future city expansion needs, the metro should be extended to Mir Khan Peta.

He suggested that a DPR should be prepared with the necessary estimates for this and sent to the center. The CM said that HMDA and FSDA (Future City Development Authority) should jointly take the responsibility of expanding this route metro. The state government has sent DPRs to the Center with an estimate of Rs. 24269 crore for the total expansion of 76.4 km for the second phase of Hyderabad Metro.

The state government has prepared proposals to undertake the project as a joint venture with the Center and the state government to bear the Cherisagam funds. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to continuously try to obtain approvals from the Center and to be ready to start the work as soon as the approvals are received.

CM Revanth Reddy instructed the officials to expedite the work on the Regional Ring Road. He suggested that a dry port be designed near the RRR to meet future needs. The CM conducted a review on the RRR and National Highways. The Chief Minister directed the officials to focus on the construction of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada Greenfield Road.

He suggested that proposals for a national highway connecting Hyderabad city with Chhattisgarh capital Raipur be prepared and sent to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Renu Desai Addresses Speculation on Second Marriage

Actress and Marathi filmmaker Renu Desai has issued a strong response to ongoing social media speculation regarding her second marriage. In a recent statement, Desai urged the public and media to refrain from engaging in unnecessary discussions about her personal life, emphasizing the need to focus on pressing social issues instead.

Renu Desai expressed her concerns during a recent podcast appearance, where she discussed topics such as religion, human relationships, and the influence of social media. However, she noted with disappointment that much of the attention was directed solely toward her comments on marriage.

“I spoke for over an hour on important subjects, yet the focus remains only on my second marriage. How is this beneficial to anyone?” Desai questioned. She reiterated that she has already addressed the matter multiple times and requested that the conversation around her personal life come to a close.

Highlighting the need for meaningful public discourse, Desai encouraged discussions on critical issues like taxation, women’s safety, economic development, and climate change. “These are the conversations that will truly help society,” she stated.

She also voiced concern over the lack of spiritual knowledge among today’s youth, observing that many children are unfamiliar with basic mantras like the Gayatri Mantra, and that some parents themselves lack awareness of their significance.

Commenting on societal attitudes toward relationships, Desai said that there is little patience among people today, especially toward women who have undergone divorce. “As a divorced woman, I find that whatever I say is often subject to criticism,” she noted. She stressed the importance of mutual understanding between men and women for a stable family system, adding that generational change is gradually reducing male chauvinism.

In conclusion, Renu Desai appealed to the public to direct their attention away from her personal life and toward broader issues that have a lasting impact on society.

Former MP Gorantla Madhav Remanded in Judicial Custody Until April 24

Former Member of Parliament and YSR Congress Party leader Gorantla Madhav was produced before the Guntur Mobile Court on Thursday, where he was remanded to judicial custody until April 24. Following the court’s order, Madhav was transferred to Nellore Jail. The arrest was made on charges of obstructing police duties during the discharge of official responsibilities. The court also remanded five other individuals in connection with the same case.

According to police, the incident took place while officers were escorting Chebrolu Kiran Kumar—who was taken into custody for making objectionable remarks against YS Bharathi—to the SP office. Madhav allegedly attempted to block the police convoy at Chuttugunta Junction in Guntur by positioning his vehicle across the road and made an attempt to assault the accused. Police stated that this act disrupted official proceedings.

After undergoing a medical examination at Guntur Government Hospital, Madhav was presented before a special mobile court. His counsel, Advocate Ponnavolu Sudhakar, appealed against the remand, but the request was denied by the judge.

Sources indicate that Madhav behaved in an unruly manner on court premises. He reportedly declined to speak to the media and expressed displeasure, questioning whether a former MP should be brought before the media in such a manner.
