Following the unfortunate industrial accident at the Sigachi Chemical Factory in Pashamylaram, Patancheru Mandal of the Sangareddy district, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the site of the accident to assess the situation. The CM was joined by top ministers and officials and visited the site to see the situation firsthand and offered condolences to the bereaved families.
Speaking to the media and the victim families, CM Revanth Reddy declared an ex-gratia payment of ₹1 crore to each of the workers’ families who died in the accident. The Chief Minister also undertook that all the injured workers would get free treatment.
Emphasizing the state government’s resolve, Revanth Reddy assured that the education of the children of deceased and injured workers would be entirely sponsored by the government. He further said Telangana would take stringent preventive measures to prevent industrial accidents of a similar nature from happening again in the future, including issuing detailed guidelines on safety to factories and chemical units running in the entire state.
For those critically injured, the CM further announced a compensation of ₹10 lakh. Long-term safety reforms further included him announcing plans to form an exclusive industrial safety committee to conduct inspections and monitor safety procedures in risk units.
Revanth Reddy minced no words while assuring accountability, vowing to take stringent legal action against everyone involved in the accident. He appealed to all industrial units to give paramount importance to worker safety, follow safety protocols, and keep performing periodic audits so that such accidents do not occur.
Former MLC PVN Madhav, who was unanimously elected as the AP BJP president, said that he will work to develop the BJP into an unstoppable force in AP. Taking over the responsibilities of the AP BJP president from Rajahmundry MP Daggubati Purandeshwari on Tuesday at the party office in Vijayawada, Madhav made it clear that his family and the BJP are not separate.
He reminded that eight MLAs and three MPs were won under Purandeshwari’s leadership and emphasized that the party has been strengthened under her leadership in the last two years. He said that the BJP is actively working in AP to double this number.
He said that Purandeshwari will now provide more services at the national and international levels. He recalled that Somu Veerraju forgot his home and worked all over AP to strengthen the BJP. With their inspiration, I will work towards bringing the BJP to power in AP”, he added. Bangalore MP and BJP National Council member PC Mohan acted as the election officer for the post of BJP Andhra Pradesh state president.
MP Daggubati Purandeswari cautioned that now in the context of being in partnership in the state government, one should take a step cautiously. “We should think ten times before speaking”, she said. She suggested that Madhav should take steps considering these issues.
Union Minister of State Srinivasa Verma said that we are not taking five percent of the seats. He said that we should rise to the level of giving seats to another party. He asked PVN Madhav to ensure that the activists work towards winning the local body elections. The Union Minister suggested that Madhav should talk to the grassroots activists and work to solve their problems.
