BJP Worried Over MLA Raja Singh’s Silence

The BJP leadership is worried over the monumental silence by its three-time MLA Raja Singh, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, He is the only BJP leader in Telangana has some craze among its supporters and has been winning his Goshamahal Assembly since 2014 on his own.

He is angry with the present BJP leadership in Telangana as they are sidelining him, though he is the most sought campaigner in some parts of Maharashtra and Rajasthan for BJP. Both union minister G Kishan Reddy, who is also the state BJP president and OBC Morcha national president Dr K Lakshman are not on good terms with him.

He is the lone MLA BJP had won in 2018 elections and in 2023 elections also he is the lone MLA the party had won in Greater Hyderabad. Both Kishan Reddy and Lakshman are reportedly uneasy with him as he has been winning his seat successfully, though they themselves are unable to win continuously.

Though party national leadership insisted that all MPs and key leaders should contest in the assembly polls, both Kishan Reddy and Lakshman escaped from the contest, fearing defeat. In their constituencies BJP fared very badly.

Moreover, Raja Singh is winning besides both BJP and RSS top leaders issuing `whip’ not to work for him. He was under suspension for more than two years due to his alleged derogatory comments against Mohammad Prophet. His supporters are angry that it was state BJP leaders, who managed to continue that suspension, which was only revoked after the announcement of assembly elections.

As a senior and three-time MLA he expected he would be the legislature party leader. But surprisingly his name was sidelined and a newcomer A Maheswar Reddy was appointed in that position. Since then Raja Singh has not taken part in BJP activities.

However, besides Hyderabad city, he has influence in some pockets of Telangana and he is the most sought campaigner by the district party leaders. So, the national leadership swung into action to ensure his active role in the Lok Sabha poll campaign.

BJP Lok Sabha election in-charge for Telangana Abhay Patil on Sunday met Raja Singh at his residence and reportedly asked him to support the party’s Hyderabad LS candidate Madhavi Latha.Raja Singh is also angry that Hyderabad Lok Sabha candidate was decided without consulting him. He himself is an aspirant for the seat and his assembly constituency is part of Hyderabad Lok Sabha.

Patil reportedly assured Singh that he would resolve all the issues raised by him and urged him to campaign for party candidates across the State. Singh had also skipped the Lok Sabha poll preparatory meeting held last Sunday at the State headquarters.
