Expressing confidence that BJP would come to power in the next assembly elections, state BJP President N Ramchander Rao asserted that the party would officially celebrate September 17 as Telangana Vimochan ((Liberation) Day.
He was addressing a meeting at Gundrampally in Nalgonda district organised to pay tribute to martyrs who fought against Razakars of Nizam regime who brutally killed 26 villagers and tortured women in Gundrampally.
This village stands for courage and bravery because entire villagers had revolted against Nizam’s autocratic rule. Rao demanded CM Revanth Reddy to celebrate September 17 Telangana Vimochana Day officially if he has respect for the sacrifices of people who fought against atrocities of Nizam rule. He alleged that former CM KCR before coming to power had promised to celebrate the day officially. But later became distracted in a fear of losing muslim votes.
Rao accused that both BRS and Congress are twins of AIMIM founded by Razakar Kasim Razvi and both parties have been afraid of MIM in celebrating September 17 as Liberation Day officially when neighbouring states Karnataka and Maharashtra have been celebrating the day officially. He alleged that both parties have been playing vote bank politics and deceiving people of Telangana.
Rao alleged that the Revanth Reddy government is now trying to provide 10 percent reservations to Muslims in local body elections which would be opposed by BJP. He appealed people to support BJP in coming local body elections to thwart any attempt of injustice by the Congress party.
Without taking the name of Kavitha, the state BJP President said that she has directly named two senior party leaders in the Kaleshwaram corruption case. There may be some differences in sharing, he said sarcastically. On the issue of vote chori of Rahul Gandhi, Rao said Congress party is blamed as vote chori wherever they are facing defeat in elections.
BJP Telangana Vimochana committee chairman and MLC Anji Reddt, ex-MP Burra Narsaiah and other leaders also spoke on the occasion. Later, Ramchander Rao honoured the families of those who fought and sacrificed their lives in resistance to the tyrannical rule of the Nizam. A rally was organised from Gundlapalli to JSK garden venue of the meeting.
