AP BJP President and former MLC PVN Madhav has accused AP Congress PCC Chief YS Sharmila Reddy of speaking in a way that hurt Hindu sentiments. He recalled that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had announced that about 5,000 temples would be constructed with TTD funds.
He was furious that Sharmila was making comments that the construction of temples was an RSS agenda. Madhav expressed anger that former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy and his son and daughter have been following the same attitude from the beginning in desecrating temples and attempting encouraging religious conversions in the state at a massive scale.
He criticized Sharmila for speaking without knowledge and without thinking about temples. He lamented that she had no understanding or idea about the temple system. Has YS Sharmila ever visited temples in her life?, Madhav asked. He accused her of doing religious propaganda herself along with her husband.
He made key comments in New Delhi accusing that Sharmila was part of a big conspiracy to convert lakhs of people to her religion. He demanded that Congress top leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi apologize for Sharmila’s comments on TTD. He recalled that the late former Chief Minister Dr Rajasekhar Reddy had previously given a GO to convert the seven hills into three hills.
Madhav made it clear that the present government is not resorting to any efforts to misuse TTD funds unlike during the regimes of YS Rajasekhar Reddy and his son Jaganmohan Reddy. Madhav revealed that the funds are being used for the construction of temples, the construction of charitable institutions, and the offering of incense sticks.
Meanwhile, PVN Madhav alleged that many temples were attacked after the arrival of former CM Jaganmohan Reddy. He wondered what is wrong with both Sharmila and Jagan, if temples are built with Tirumala Tirupati funds? He was furious that the previous government demolished 434 rooms in TTD and spent Rs. 600 crores. He said that an investigation is being conducted into the corruption committed by Jagan’s administration.
