TTD Governing Council member and BJP leader Bhanuprakash Reddy said that those who looted money from Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy Parakamani will not be spared. Along with some BJP leaders he met DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao and filed a complaint seeking action against those who looted foreign dollars from Parakamani.
He said that TTD EO Shyamala Rao has ordered a vigilance inquiry into the incident. He alleged that YSRCP leaders played a role in the Parakamani robbery and about Rs 100 crore were looted from Parakamani. He said that all this was moved in a secret compartment.He urged the DGP to bring back the amount that was moved.
He said that Ravikumar was caught stealing cash from the hundi in April 2023 and a vigilance investigation was also conducted into the matter. However, some alleged that the police released the accused under pressure from government officials. He demanded that the irregularities in Parakamani be investigated and the mystery be solved.
He said that all the donations given by devotees go to the corpus fund of the Swami. But Bhanu Prakash Reddy alleged that a person named Ravikumar had stolen foreign dollars from Parakamani. He said that he did not know what happened to that case later.
He alleged that some people acted to protect such people during the previous government. He said that there were triple R’s in this matter. He clarified that the details of the actors and the masterminds will be revealed soon.
He said that the vigilance report revealed that the police officer in the theft case had compromised under pressure. He urged the DGP to reveal who that police officer was involved in this case. What is the point of accepting money as a gift from those who stole money from the hundi?, he asked. Bhanuprakash Reddy criticized that the police service was converted into a political service during the previous government.
