BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy Followers Attack on Adani Camp Office

The family members of local BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy pelted stones at the Adani company staff who were carrying out the construction work of pumped storage power plants at Ragikunta village in Kondapuram, Jammalamadugu constituency of YSR district.

Adani has started the construction of a pumped storage power plant with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts on an area of 470 acres at Ragikunta. They set up a camp and started leveling the ground with machines. MLA family members Shivnarayana Reddy and Rajesh Reddy, along with their followers, went there in vehicles and got into an argument with the Adani company representatives.

They pelted stones asking how they would carry out the work without informing the MLA. Later, they discussed it with the company representatives. Allegations are being made that they attacked for money. Two days ago, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu summoned the MLA to the CMO after receiving complaints that his followers and family members were threatening industries in the constituency and harassing them for money.

He was reportedly angry that while he was trying to bring investments, develop and provide employment to the state, which was damaged by the YSRCP regime, the MLA was threatening industrialists and asking for money. Despite the CM’s reprimand, his family members also attacked the Adani company camp on Tuesday evening.

They destroyed the vehicles and machinery there. Representatives of the Adani company filed a complaint at the police station on Tuesday night. It is learnt that the representatives of the Adani company have taken it to the attention of the central government officials. It is learnt that the Delhi officials have taken it seriously.

Meanwhile, MLA Adinarayana Reddy said that knowing that an industry was being set up in their area, their people went there only to ask for jobs and to rent their vehicles. They went around the area where the work was being done. At the same time, they  got angry when YSRCP leaders appeared there. The MLA says that nothing more happened there.
