BJP Halt Congress Wave In Telangana, Won 8 Seats

Congress party that had swept Assembly polls in Telangana just six months ago has received a severe bolt from BJP. With the best performance of the BJP the ruling party failed to secure a double digit number. Both Congress and BJP have one 8 Lok Sabha seats each in the state, while the main opposition party BRS failed to win any seat. Moreover, in most of the seats BRS confined to third place.

BJP, which had won only 8 assembly seats in November assembly polls, was able to win 8 Lok Sabha seats. Its Lok Sabha number doubled from 4 in 2019 polls.  Union Minister and state BJP chief G Kishan Reddy has re-elected from Secunderabad, while former minister and national vice president D K Aruna won from Mahabubnagar, the home district of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

BJP has given a tough competition to Congress candidates in almost all seats. Only in combined Khammam and Nalgonda districts Congress candidates have won with a comfortable majority.

The Congress candidate created a sensation in the Nalgonda segment. 5, 41,241 crossed the majority mark. Raghuveer Reddy, son of former minister K Jana Reddy has won with a record majority in the state.  His brother is already Nagarjuna Sagar is MLA.

Congress candidate Ramasayam Raghurami Reddy also won by a record margin of 4,56704 votes. Congress party has crossed 4 lakh majority in these two parliamentary segments. On the other hand, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy also won in Bhuvanagiri. He won over the BJP candidate with a margin of about 204441 votes.

Congress candidates won in Peddapalli, Zaheerabad, Nagar Kurnool, Warangal and Mahbubabad seats. This is the first time that BJP has won 8 seats, crossing its own record of 4 seats in 2019 polls. In 2014, BJP won only one Lok Sabha seat in the state.

Former Minister Etela Rajender has won from Malkajgiri as BJP candidate. BJP sitting MPs Bandi Sanjay Kumar from Karimnagar and D Aravind from Nizamabad have re-elected. Its former MLA M Raghunandan Rao has won from Medak, the home constituency of BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Former MP Konda Visveswar Reddy has won from Chevella as BJP candidate. BJP also retained its Adilabad seat. Its candidate G Nagesh has won from here.
