BJP Flays Revanth Fears conviction In cash-For-vote scam

BJP Legislature Party Leader A Maheshwar Reddy made a sensational comment that Chief Minister A Reanth Reddy is fearing conviction in a cash-for-vote scam. As a result, he said that he is not sure that he can continue as chief minister for a long time.

As the case is coming before the Supreme Court soon, the BJP leader said that the chief minister is fearing that the Apex court may send him to prison. He made these allegations referring to Revanth Reddy’s unusual comments on Sunday stating that his ministerial colleague  Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy has all eligibility to become chief minister, but Congress party chose him in certain circumstances.

It may be recalled that Venkat Reddy was a strong contender for Chief Minister’s post after Congress won in last year’s assembly elections in the state and also he was a bitter critic of Revanth Reddy. Strongly opposing the party high-command decision to appoint him as TPCC President, he had vowed not to enter party headquarter Gandhi Bhavan, as long as Revanth continued in that position.

In view of this bitter relations between these two leaders, BJP leader felt that Revanth Reddy was now promoting Venkat Reddy’s name for Chief Minister’s post fearing his own arrest in the case.

“I think Revanth is not sure of continuing in the post of CM till August. He may be forced to leave the post in the wake of hearing of the cash-for-vote scam on July 24 in the Supreme Court,” he said.

“Usually Congress high command decides about the CM, but I don’t know why he is taking the name of Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. We don’t know he might have made similar promises to other Congress leaders too,”he added.

Moreover, Maheshwar Reddy felt that Revanth bringing name of Komatireddy may be seeking peace with him so that to ensure stability of his government, after BRS chief KCR claimed a senior Congress leader was in touch with him promising to bring 20 MLAs. He said Komatireddy may be that leader.
