On Saturday night, a raid by the Cyberabad police and the Special Operations Team led to the discovery of a rave party at a farmhouse owned by KTR’s brother-in-law, Raj Pakala, located in the Janwada Reserve Colony. Local residents had raised concerns about loud noises coming from the farmhouse, prompting them to alert the authorities.
During the operation, police uncovered a significant quantity of drugs and foreign liquor. A total of 21 men and 14 women were apprehended for attending the party. Authorities seized seven bottles of foreign liquor, amounting to 10 liters, which were being sold without the necessary excise permits. Sniffer dogs were deployed to search the surrounding areas, further assisting in the investigation.
Among the attendees, Vijay Muddar tested positive for cocaine, leading to charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The seized liquor has been handed over to the excise police, and additional charges have been filed against the suspects under Section 34 of the Excise Act.
As investigations continue, reports suggest that the Janwada farmhouse was constructed without proper permits, raising further questions. Police are consulting legal experts, and the farmhouse is expected to be seized by the evening. KTR has not yet commented on the situation.
Union Minister Bandisanjay has expressed serious concerns regarding the drug use at the farmhouse, calling for accountability regardless of the individuals’ status. He emphasized the importance of preserving CCTV footage from the property and directly questioned KTR about his response to these events.
Medak MP Raghunandan Rao has joined the call for transparency, demanding the release of CCTV footage related to the incident. He noted a troubling rise in drug usage during weekends and proposed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure a thorough inquiry. Rao alleged that law enforcement might be shielding influential figures connected to the case and has called for accountability from the DGP in light of these serious allegations.
This incident poses significant challenges for the BRS party, which is already dealing with various issues, further highlighting the growing concern over rave party culture and drug trafficking in Hyderabad.
