BJLP Leader Aleti Asks why Telangana cabinet Is Not Discussing six Guarantees?

BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy criticized the Telangana cabinet meetings for wasting time with idle chatter and not discussing important public issues like implementation of the promises mentioned in the Congress manifesto? Why are the six guarantees not being discussed in the cabinet meeting so far? Why are they not being able to prepare a plan to implement them?, he asked.

He expressed regret over the lack of legality to the six guarantees among many other issues, and the fact that they have not been taken forward even after giving their first signature as the Chief Minister and speaking in the assembly.

The promises given to farmers, the promises mentioned in the BC declaration, the SC ST declaration issue, the promise to give Rs. 2500 to every woman under the Mahalaxmi scheme, the pension to be increased to Rs. 6000 for the disabled… Why are many such issues not being discussed in the cabinet meeting?, he wondered.

Maheshwar Reddy recalled that Congress announced before the election that it would implement 42% reservation for BCs in education, employment and political opportunities in the local body elections in Telangana and had also brought a law in the Assembly.

After getting the approval in the Assembly on March 17 this year, he wondered why has the government delayed issuing a gazette notification till now?  He said that the Congress government is wringing its hands by sending a letter to the President saying that it will provide 42% reservation just to appease him. He expressed surprise that the Congress party did ask  the central government for this promise in its manifesto?

Maheshwar Reddy expressed anger that the same people who had said that they would implement it without giving any clarity to the people on how it would be implemented are now adopting a evasive attitude. He made it clear that as per the promise given by the Congress, 42% BC reservation should be fully implemented in the local body elections.

He alleged that girls were promised a gold coin worth Rs. 1000 through the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme at the time of marriage, but so far no gold coin has been given anywhere, which is a clear example of cheating the people.
