The life of India’s revered scientist and former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, is being brought to the big screen with the upcoming biopic titled Kalam. National Award-winning actor Dhanush has been cast in the lead role. The film was officially announced at the Cannes Film Festival, generating significant interest across the Indian film industry and audiences, including the Telugu film fraternity with Tollywood producer Anil Sunkara on board.
Directed by Om Raut, known for Adipurush, the film chronicles Kalam’s inspiring journey from a modest upbringing in Rameswaram to becoming the ‘Missile Man of India’ and India’s 11th President. The biopic aims to highlight his scientific achievements, leadership, and enduring legacy. Producers Bhushan Kumar, Abhishek Agarwal, Krishan Kumar, and Anil Sunkara are jointly producing the project under T-Series and Abhishek Agarwal Arts. The film is highly anticipated for its portrayal of Kalam’s life, spanning his work with ISRO and DRDO to his presidency.
