The Telangana High Court has directed the police not to arrest anchor Shyamala in connection with a case related to the promotion of betting apps. However, the court permitted the police to continue their investigation and instructed Shyamala to cooperate. It also mandated her to appear for questioning from Monday.
The Punjagutta police had registered a case against Shyamala along with 10 others for allegedly endorsing betting platforms. While the police have summoned all the accused for questioning, Shyamala failed to appear, prompting her to seek legal relief.
In her petition, Shyamala requested the High Court to dismiss the case against her. After reviewing the plea, the court issued its interim orders.
