Since Congress came to power in Telangana, the seniors are unable to digest CM Revanth Reddy’s one-man show in the party and government. Moreover, BC leaders are burning with anger that they are not getting proper recognition especially in the party and the government.
He is threatening to take disciplinary action against the BC leaders who pointed out the mistakes of the PCC leadership, but at the same time, keeps silent over harsh comments by senior Reddy leaders. PCC Working President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud’s warning on Monday that if the BC leaders express their concerns, no matter how senior they are, disciplinary action has been added to the fire, the leaders say.
Looking at the latest developments in the party, seniors are expressing concern that it is turning into ‘BC vs. Reddy’. BC leaders are questioning what is the sign of warning that disciplinary action will be taken if suggestions are made for the good of the party. When leaders like Komatireddy brothers and Janga Reddy make wild accusations against Revanth Reddy, the party maintains silence.
Even though Komatireddy Venkata Reddy had earlier accused Revanth Reddy of buying the post of PCC president by giving money to AICC state in-charge Manikkam Tagore, the Congress leadership did not respond. Venkat Reddy openly called for the victory of his brother Rajagopal Reddy, who stood as a BJP candidate in the previous by-election.
Even though the AICC gave him a show cause notice, no action was taken against him even though he told the media that he had thrown it in the trash. Rajagopal Reddy however announced that he joined BJP because he could not work under the leadership of Revanth Reddy.
PCC working president Jagga Reddy wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi saying that if Revanth Reddy is not removed as PCC president, he will resign from his post. However, there is no record of disciplinary action being taken against them. Several leaders are angry over differential treatment being given to the leaders of forward and BC sections in the party.
Particularly, Munnuru Kapu leaders in the party are deploring alleged injustice to them by the leadership. While BRS and BJP giving preference to the leaders of this community in ticket selections and also party positions, they allege the Congress leadership intentionally ignoring them.
