Expressing anger over the continuing incidents of violence after polling in the state and YCP goons attacking TDP cadre, TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the police failed to control unruly mobs of the ruling party.
Chandrababu said that the problem is still not resolved in Palnadu and YSP rowdies are carrying bombs and lethal weapons in their houses and attacking political opponents. He said that the attacks will not be controlled unless MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, who is responsible for the massacre in Macharla, is arrested. He demanded for his immediate arrest.
He also sought full scale search operations to nab all goons.
Naidu deplored that violence spread to even otherwise peaceful Visakhapatnam. He said that here YCP goons attacked four people as they refused to take money from YCP and voted TDP. Even they didn’t spare women, he added.
He said that peace and security problems are arising due to the police’s indifference regarding these attacks. He expressed anger that the accused ran away from the police station in the polling day attack case in Bhavanipuram, Vijayawada. He lamented that it is proof of the indifferent attitude of the police.
Naidu demanded that cases should be registered under strict sections against the accused in the election related violence and sent them to jail. Chandrababu demanded that besides transferring the errant police officers, cases should also be registered against them and investigation should be conducted.
Meanwhile, YCP attacks are continuing in Palnadu area. On Thursday night, YCP goons attacked the house of Bellamkonda Sarpanch Jyothi, a Dalit women. They targeted her husband Samudrala, as she was not in the home. As he was also not there at that time, they destroyed a car in front of their house.
