Both KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao’s aggressive politics attracted numerous cases by the Revanth Reddy government against them and also BRS leaders, forcing the party into confrontation with the government, even before one year of their regime.
Many BRS circles are of the view that they have been ignoring KCR advises of maintaining restraint for some time till people themselves vexed with Revanth Reddy’s regime and swing into revolt mood against its bad governance. But internal political dynamics of the BRS, provoking both KTR and Harish Rao to swing into a confrontation attitude on public issues against the government, fearing that they will be lagging behind within the party leadership.
In the process, the party circles are worried both of them are pushing them into a dangerous political zone. Since the Congress party came to power in the state, their behavior reflects `competitive politics’ against each other, more than against the ruling party.
As an opposition party, no one has any objection if it resorts to exposing failures of the government. But in the last few months, both of them are behaving in a way that the Congress party has forcibly seized their power. Recently, the behavior of BRS leaders in CM Revanth Reddy’s own constituency Lagacharla in a way facilitated the government to respond with a repressive attitude.
The main criticism of BRS when they were in power is that KCR and KTR arrogantly ignored their own party ministers, MLAs and party leaders. Now, even though they are in the opposition, KTR and Harish Rao are acting as if they will not let the elected government do its job.
If the Revanth Reddy government keeps making terrible mistakes as BRS leaders say, then after four years, the BRS party will turn a blind eye and come to power again. It is learnt KCR advised both of them to maintain silence for some time, keeping their energies for a final battle with the ruling party. But, KCR too feels worried that they are wasting their energy at an preemptive period.
