A.R. Rahman will make a comeback to Telugu cinema, composing the soundtrack for Ram Charan and upcoming RC16 sports drama. This has been directed by Buchi Babu Sana, famous for Uppena’s blockbuster status. The film is under production and will reportedly entice audiences at theatres by the end of 2025.

The Oscar-winning composer has already locked three mesmerizing tracks, and his return to Tollywood comes with a staggering price tag. Rahman is reportedly charging ₹8 crore, making it one of the highest remunerations ever paid to a music composer in Telugu cinema. The production team has gladly agreed to his fee, ensuring the film’s music reaches top-notch quality.

In RC16, Ram Charan will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar for his role. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, while Sukumar is overseeing the script to elevate the storytelling.

Backed by Vriddhi Cinemas, Mythri Movie Makers, and Sukumar Writings, the film’s shooting is taking place on a massive village set in Hyderabad, designed to add authenticity to the narrative. With Rahman’s soulful music, Charan’s powerhouse performance, and high-end production values, RC16 is shaping up to be one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2025.
