AP To take Up Skill Census First Time In The Country

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is making hectic moves to fulfil his election promises, soon after assuming his office in the middle of this month, Particularly, he is focusing on five signatures he made immediately taking charge at the Secretariat. They are Mega DSC, abolition of Land Titling Act, increasing NTR bharosa pension amounts Eviving Anna canteens and skill census.

The administration is getting ready to take up SKill Census for the first time in the country, across the state. This was intended to provide better opportunities to the youth of under-employment and unemployment. By learning suitable skills it will facilitate enhancing their learning capabilities. Staff members at Village Secretariat and Ward Secretariat are being assigned the task of taking the Skill Census. The government is planning to take up this survey online. The details collected through Skill Census will be linked with Aadhar. A special app expected to be developed for this skill census. According to the estimation of the AP State Skill Development Corporation, there are about 15 lakh unemployed people in the state. After collecting the complete details of all of them through the app, all this data will be scrutinized.

Through this skill census, each family and each individual is expected to be allotted a permanent number like Aadhaar. Chief MInister Chandrababu Naidu is hopeful to conduct an online test for all of them and determine their skills. After completing this survey across the state, the government will identify what skills are required by companies and industries. Training will be provided to the unemployed according to the skills and industry requirements of the unemployed in the state.

This will facilitate the government to identify that how many unemployed people are there in the state?. What kind of training should be given to them? Until recently, training was given only on one subject or technique. Now the government is thinking of using the sector skill councillors of the center for skill training. Central sector skill mandals have material for skill training in all sectors like electronics, IT sector, automotive, agriculture, beauty-wellness, furniture-fitting, power sector, food industry capacity. Officials estimate that it will take three months for the state-wide skill enumeration. After completing the survey, they will come to an estimate.. After that, the government will formulate special skill training plans. To that extent, they are thinking about imparting skills to the students in educational institutions.
